- The COVID-19 Craziness
The COVID-19 Craziness By Marilyn M. Singleton, MD, JD June 3, 2021 Share Proves That Einstein Was Right One of Albert Einstein’s many aphorisms, “three great forces rule the world: stupidity, fear and greed,” is particularly apt in the COVID-19 Era. Our government’s duty is to warn the public of a possible Pandemic and recommend precautions. However, the initial COVID-19 tactic, was to strike fear into our hearts and minds. The constant display of COVID-19 “cases” on the nightly news, suggested certain death awaited those who ventured out of their homes. During the Diamond Princess Cruiseship’s outbreak in early February of 2020, we had a real world demonstration of the behavior of the SARS-CoV-2 Virus. Trapped in a floating Petri dish, the crew performed their duties and passengers were quarantined in their rooms with a ventilation system without special high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters, only 17 percent of the 3,711 occupants became infected with SARS-CoV-2, only half of whom had symptoms. Because 80 percent of those infected, were in cabins that didn’t have a previous confirmed case, the likely mode of infection was transmission of aerosols (in contrast to large droplets that quickly fall to the ground) through the ventilation system and locking the people in, had proved to be counterproductive. We also learned from the Diamond Princess episode, that the median age of symptomatic folks were people 68 years old, 50 percent of whom had underlying medical conditions and the deaths were in those over 70 years of age. Despite this real world clinical experience, the CDC and Dr. Fauci advised state governments to quarantine every living human being in the country. The lessons of the Diamond Princess faded from the news while a never-ending campaign of fear, persisted. Only the well-informed, realized the news was presented through agenda-colored glasses. It’s not smart to keep people indoors, when by May 2020, we knew 66 percent of New York’s new cases were in folks who stayed home. The scientific consensus was leaning toward emerging evidence, that the SARS-CoV-2 Virus was spread by tiny aerosols, which could be reduced by good ventilation. After more than a year, the CDC finally acknowledged real world evidence “the science” and announced that “less than 10 percent” of transmission had occurred outdoors. Data shows the actual outdoor transmission is somewhere between 0.1 and 1 percent. While technically true, one wonders whether the CDC used purposefully misleading wording to cover its tracks after mask recommendations for children outdoors at summer camps and mandates for seafaring commercial fishermen. Fear fuels stupidity, by June 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) had announced that asymptomatic transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 Virus is “very rare,” study after, study have shown that cloth masks, do not prevent transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 Virus or other, similar viruses. When political pundits see unmasked people as a threat and a fully vaccinated physician, the COVID-19 experts, found it “psychologically hard” to dine unmasked with a vaccinated friend, masking has not become part of “following the science,” but, it became an obsession. Greed knows no bounds, hospitals are charging up to $1419 for a $50 test. Designer drugs are the new cash cow. Regeneron’s stock price was up more than 60 percent, in 2020. Who would have thought COVID-19 would be justification for a manufacturer to release TV ads for drugs that are not fully FDA approved? Regeneron’s ads instill fear, then present their drug as the solution. COVID-19 Diagnosis? Oh my! Isolate and call the doctor to get monoclonal antibodies (at $1,250 per dose). Wall Street predicts that in 2021, Pfizer and Moderna will generate $32 billion in COVID-19 Vaccine Revenue. Thanks to the Vaccines, Moderna’s stock, has soared 700 percent in 2020. Pfizer plans for Vaccines to be a long-term business plan, by roping children into the Vaccine corral. Was the drug and health product manufacturers’ $92 million to lobbyists in the last 3 months intended to ensure the federal government’s cooperation? Patients and physicians have a choice. Despite the Vaccine, über alles narrative, only 60 percent of Dr. Fauci’s staff have taken “the shot.” The NIH’s COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines are not mandates. Patients can opt for early treatment at a cost of $10 to $125 per entire course with effective repurposed generic drugs, supported by real-time worldwide evidence. Sadly, as Kaiser Health News noted, despite being a “godsend” to reduce death and hospitalizations, “drug companies have no incentive to spend millions to test new uses for cheap, off-patent drugs.” The people are not stupid, they are merely, ill-informed. Media outlets were increasing ratings at the expense of the truth, the drug companies were rolling in dough, researchers were letting politics guide their outcomes and social media, was censoring experts who disagreed with the wizards at WHO, NIH, CDC and medical journals, who have been funded by big Pharma. Could we have avoided lockdowns with repurposed drugs, improved air circulation and HEPA filters? Could we have saved millions of lives lost, not only to COVID-19 but from suicide, overdoses, violence and Cancer? About Dr. Singleton Dr. Singleton is a board-certified anesthesiologist. - A Sukkah In The Park - Jewish Community To Celebrate Sukkot Holiday Community Sukkahs At Miami-Dade Parks | sun-times
A Sukkah In The Park - Jewish Community To Celebrate Sukkot Holiday Community Sukkahs At Miami-Dade Parks By Rabbi Moishe Kievman - Chabad Chayil Oct 8, 2025 As The Seasons Change From Summer To Fall And Families Spend More Time Inside, The Jewish Community Of South Florida Will Celebrate The Annual Holiday Of Sukkot By Heading Outdoors. Sukkot, Also Known As The Holiday Of Booths, Begins This Year (5786/2025) At Sundown On Monday, October 6th And Concludes On The Evening Of Monday, October 13th. The Two Day Holiday Of Shemini Atzeret And Simchat Torah Immediately Follows Sukkot, Beginning The Evening Of Monday, October 13th And Ending On The Evening Of Wednesday, October 15th. During Sukkot, we remember G-d's kindness to us during our journey through the desert by dwelling in a sukkah--a hut of temporary construction with a roof covering of branches--for the duration of the Sukkot festival. For seven days and nights, we eat all our meals in the sukkah and otherwise regard it as our home. The temporary booths emphasize how the world and the Jewish people rely on G-d’s protection. Eating under the stars allows us to truly thank G-d and see the blessings that surround us. Sukkot is a wonderful way for us to continue celebrating and connecting with our Judaism after the High Holidays. This year, Miami-Dade county has allowed the Jewish community to erect a Community Sukkah in the park. As this is going to print, there’s one being set up at Highland Lakes Park and few more in the works. The Parks Sukkah will be available to anyone throughout the holiday, whenever the park is open. Another unique holiday practice is the gathering of four different species. The taking of the Four Kinds: an Etrog (a rare citrus fruit, originally from Italy, but now also commonly grown in Morocco & Israel), a lulav (palm frond), hadassim (myrtles) and Aravot (willows), tied together with Lulav leafs. On each day of the festival, except for Shabbat, we take the Four Kinds, recite a blessing over them, bring them together in our hands and wave them in all six directions. The Four Kinds represent the diverse types and personalities that make up our community, and whose intrinsic unity we emphasize on Sukkot. Chabad Houses and many synagogues throughout Florida will be available to help each family plan a sukkah during the weeks leading up to the start of the holiday. They will also all be equipped with a Lulav & Etrog set for anyone to use, free of charge. Many Chabads will also have available Etrog and Lulav sets for you to order, as it is preferable to actually own your own set. They will be offering guidance and classes for all community members interested in learning how to put their Four Kinds together or learn more about the holiday. If you would like to learn how to bind together your own Lulav set, you can join me for a hands-on class on Sunday, October 5th, 10:00 a.m., right after daily Shacharit at Chabad Chayil in the Highland Lakes section of Miami North (West Aventura). The class will be free of charge and open to anyone who reserves at: www.ChabadChayil.org/Sukkah . Drawing from the gravity of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, Sukkot gives us the chance to celebrate the sweetness of nature and to thank G-d for His protection. Sukkot touches all five senses: the sweet smell of the Etrog, the feel of the palm branch and twigs in your hand, the sights and sounds of the sukkah around us and the taste of the festival’s feasts. Sukkot, referred to as the holiday of rejoicing, comes just five days after Yom Kippur, the day of atonement. The group of four plants, including the Etrog fruit, are replete with symbolic meaning, including the fall harvest and gathering season, and the unity of the Jewish people. We encourage you to contact your local Chabad or Synagogue to celebrate the holiday. You’re of course welcome to join us at Chabad Chayil for a community meal in the Sukkah, Shabbat or any of the holiday nights. Reservations can be made via: (305) 770-1919. Or: www.ChabadChayil.org/High-Holidays . You can also use our Sukkah any time of day or night 24/7. We’ll leave the lights on for you, and keep a set of Lulav and Etrog for use any time during the day. To learn more about the holiday, or to order a Lulav & Etrog, visit: www.ChabadChayil.org/Sukkah . About the Author: Rabbi Kievman together with his wife are the ambassadors of The Rebbe to Highland Lakes, FL. They are the founders of Gan Chabad Preschool, your local CTeen & CKids chapters, CHAP - an afterschool program for Jewish children in Public Schools and direct Chabad Chayil. He’s the Rabbi at The Family Shul and can be reached at: (305) 770-1919. Or: Rabbi@ChabadChayil.org . Previous Next
- It’s True What Cinderella Said “One Shoe Can Change Your Life”
It’s True What Cinderella Said “One Shoe Can Change Your Life” October 7, 2021 Share Strut into WMODA to see Stern’s Stilettos, a fabulous exhibition of glass shoes by Miami artist, Rob Stern. The show was inspired by his wife’s obsession and collection of shoes, including Manola Blahnik, Jimmy Choo and Alexander McQueen. This one-of-a-kind installation featuring 50 different glass shoes attempts to capture and reflect some of the many moods and moments in a woman’s life. Our relationship with our shoes goes beyond functionality, shoes help create a mood, a feeling, or a statement. Whether you feel on top of the world (literally!) When you put on your platforms, princess-like in that sparkly glass number or ready to let loose in that blue suede shoe, they can empower any narrative. Many things have been said about shoes, but one thing is certain: they’re with us every step of the way towards whoever or whatever we want to become. Stern’s Stilettos is just the first installment of his Accoutrement series, which focuses on how clothing, accessories and, of course, shoes are not only a means of self-expression, but also help create a persona, a veneer or armor, to present and prepare yourself to conquer the world around you. As such, the possibilities, combinations, and stories are endless. “A woman with good shoes is never ugly” - Coco Chanel “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” — Marilyn Monroe “I can’t concentrate in flats!” — Victoria Beckham “I firmly believe that with the right footwear one can rule the world.” — Bette Midler “Life is short, your heels shouldn’t be!” – Brian Atwood The Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts is a world-class museum in Dania Beach, Florida celebrating the fired arts of ceramics and glass. Our galleries showcase the finest British pottery and porcelain from the last two centuries, including Wedgwood and Royal Doulton, as well as European designers from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras. Our hot glass collections feature amazing works of art by Lalique, Chihuly and other modern masters. Glass is Hot & Ceramics are Cool @ WMODA! For information about the exhibition you can visit: www.wmoda.com Or call: (954) 376-6690. The museum is located inside the Gallery of Amazing Things at 481 South Federal Highway in Dania Beach. About The Artist My aesthetic resides at the crossroads where humans and nature intersect. Between organic and angular, a space, which connects the temporary man-made to the pre-existing and eternal cosmos. Here we begin to measure our perspective and contemplate the perception of our place in the world as it is one that is always changing with the evolution of space, light, and time. I venture to capture moments with materials that speak to a fleeting sensibility of the permanence or importance of this balancing act. Color and form dictate emotion and humanity is transcended as we reflect in the inherent rhythm and fractal patterning in this natural world. My constant observation of details persuades my attention to nuances in an attempt to mimic the complexity of its simplicity. My creative endeavors and sculptures are mere stepping stones towards my search for understanding life. Harmonic instances between what I sense and do are the signals which guide me through my processes and prompt daily decisions. My works act as a communicative device which seeks to connect my thoughts and my actions to the collective human consciousness. A path seeking insight and enlightenment which carries me forwards and always seems to bring me back to the glass. < Previous News Next News >
- Are We The Proverbial Frog In The Boiling Pot? Totalitarian Paranoia Run Amok: Pandemics, Lockdowns & Martial Law
Are We The Proverbial Frog In The Boiling Pot? Totalitarian Paranoia Run Amok: Pandemics, Lockdowns & Martial Law By John W. Whitehead & Nisha Whitehead February 3, 2022 Share “Totalitarian Paranoia runs deep in American Society and it now inhabits the highest levels of government.” - Professor Henry Giroux Once upon a time, there was a government so paranoid about its hold on power that it treated everyone and everything as a threat and a reason to expand its powers. Unfortunately, the citizens of this nation believed everything they were told by their government and they suffered for it. When terrorists attacked the country and the government passed massive laws aimed at paving the way for a surveillance state, the people believed it was done merely to keep them safe. The few who disagreed were labeled traitors. When the government waged costly preemptive wars on foreign countries, insisting it was necessary to protect the nation, the citizens believed it. And when the government brought the weapons and tactics of war home to use against the populace, claiming it was just a way to recycle old equipment, the people believed that too. The few who disagreed were labeled unpatriotic. When the government spied on its own citizens, claiming they were looking for terrorists hiding among them, the people believed it. And when the government began tracking the citizenry’s movements, monitoring their spending, snooping on their social media and surveying them about their habits—supposedly in an effort to make their lives more efficient—the people believed that, too. The few who disagreed were labeled paranoid. When the government allowed private companies to take over the Prison Industry and agreed to keep the jails full, justifying it as a cost-saving measure, the people believed them. And when the government started arresting and jailing people for minor infractions, claiming the only way to keep communities safe was to be tough on crime, the people believed that too. The few who disagreed were labeled soft on crime. When the government hired crisis actors to take part in disaster drills, never alerting the public to which “disasters” were staged, the people genuinely believed they were under attack. And when the government insisted it needed greater powers to prevent such attacks from happening again, the people believed that too. The few who disagreed were told to shut up or leave the country. When the government started carrying out covert military drills around the country, insisting it was necessary to train the troops for foreign combat, most of the people believed them. The few who disagreed, fearing that perhaps all was not what it seemed, were shouted down as conspiracy theorists and quacks. When government leaders locked down the nation, claiming it was the only way to prevent an unknown virus from sickening the populace, the people believed them and complied with the mandates and quarantines. The few who resisted or voiced skepticism about the government’s edicts were denounced as selfish and dangerous and silenced on social media. When the government expanded its war on terrorism to include domestic terrorists, the people believed that only violent extremists would be targeted. Little did they know that anyone who criticizes the government can be considered an extremist. By the time the government began using nationalized police and the military to routinely lockdown the nation, the citizenry had become so acclimated to such states of emergency that they barely even noticed the prison walls that had grown up around them. Now every fable has a moral and the moral of this story is: if it looks like trouble and it smells like trouble, you can bet there’s trouble afoot. Unfortunately, the government has fully succeeded in recalibrating our general distaste for anything that smacks too overtly of tyranny. After all, like the proverbial boiling frogs, the government has been gradually acclimating us to the specter of a police state for years now: Militarized Police. Riot Squads. Camouflage Gear. Black Uniforms. Armored Vehicles. Mass Arrests. Pepper Spray. Tear Gas. Batons. Strip Searches. Surveillance Cameras. Kevlar Vests. Drones. Lethal Weapons. Less-Than-Lethal Weapons unleashed with deadly force. Rubber Bullets. Water Cannons. Stun Grenades. Arrests of Journalists. Crowd Control Tactics. Intimidation Tactics. Brutality. This is how you prepare a populace to accept a Police State willingly, even gratefully. You don’t scare them by making dramatic changes. Rather, you acclimate them slowly to their prison walls. Persuade the citizenry that their prison walls are merely intended to keep them safe and out of danger. Desensitize them to violence, acclimate them to a military presence in their communities and persuade them that only a militarized government can alter the seemingly hopeless trajectory of the nation. It’s happening already. This is Psychological Warfare at its most sophisticated. Almost every national security threat that the government has claimed greater powers in order to fight—all the while undermining the liberties of the American citizenry—has been manufactured in one way or another by the government. What we’ve seen play out before us is more than mere Totalitarian Paranoia run amok. What has unfolded over the past few years has been a test to see how well “we the people” have assimilated the government’s lessons in compliance, fear and Police State Tactics; a test to see how quickly “we the people” will march in lockstep with the government’s dictates, no questions asked and a test to see how little resistance “we the people” will offer up to the government’s power grabs when made in the name of national security. Most critically of all, this has been a test to see whether the Constitution—and our commitment to the principles enshrined in the Bill of Rights—could survive a national crisis and true State of Emergency. We have failed the test abysmally. We have also made it way too easy for a government that has been working hard to destabilize to lockdown the nation. Suddenly, the events of recent years begin to make sense: the invasive surveillance, the extremism reports, the civil unrest, the protests, the shootings, the bombings, the military exercises and active shooter drills, the color-coded alerts and threat assessments, the fusion centers, the transformation of local police into extensions of the military, the distribution of military equipment and weapons to local police forces, the government databases containing the names of dissidents and potential troublemakers. The government is systematically locking down the nation and shifting us into martial law. This is how you prepare a populace to accept a Police State willingly, even gratefully. As I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People and in its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, it’s time to wake up and stop being deceived by government propaganda. < Previous News Next News >

- Your Medicare Roadmap: What To Know Before You Turn 65 | sun-times
Your Medicare Roadmap: What To Know Before You Turn 65 By Feature Impact May 14, 2026 Sixty-Five Is More Than A Number. It’s A Milestone. A Moment To Reflect On Where You’ve Been And Look Forward With Confidence To What Comes Next. For Millions Of Americans, Turning 65 Also Means Unlocking One Of The Most Valuable Benefits You’ve Earned: Medicare. The best is still ahead, and it starts with knowing your options. The official source for Medicare information: www.Medicare.gov , is here to help with clear, trusted information. The path to Medicare is not the same for everyone. Some people get Medicare automatically and others have to sign up. It depends on whether you are already getting Social Security. Either way, you’ll want to choose how you get your Medicare coverage. Get information for your path at: www.Medicare.gov , where you can find out when and how to enroll and explore your coverage options. Understanding Your Medicare Coverage Options When you first sign up for Medicare, you choose how to get your coverage. There are two main options: Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage. Original Medicare is health coverage provided directly by the Federal Government. It has two parts: • Part A (Hospital Insurance) covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care and home health care. Most people pay no premium for Part A. • Part B (Medical Insurance) covers doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services (like screenings, vaccines and annual wellness visits) and durable medical equipment like wheelchairs and walkers. The standard Part B premium is $202.90 per month and is typically deducted from your Social Security check. With Original Medicare, you can visit any doctor or hospital in the U.S. that accepts Medicare. You can also add optional coverage to help manage costs: • Medigap (Supplemental Insurance) helps pay your share of Medicare costs. • Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage) helps pay for medications. Medicare Advantage is an alternative to Original Medicare that provides Part A and Part B and is offered by private insurers approved by Medicare. You still pay the Part B premium. Some plans charge an additional premium – though many carry a $0 plan premium and may even help cover part of your Part B cost. Most plans include in Part D drug coverage along with extra benefits like dental, vision and hearing. Keep in mind most plans require you to use doctors within the plan’s network. 5 Steps to Enroll with Confidence 1. Use official sources. Go to: www.Medicare.gov . Or call: 1 (800) MEDICARE for step-by-step, personalized guidance on coverage and enrollment. 2. Start early . You don’t have to wait until your birthday. Explore your options now so you’re ready when your enrollment window opens. 3. Know your enrollment path. Your path depends on your circumstances – some people are automatically enrolled and some are not. There are unique steps for people who are still working. 4. Avoid late enrollment penalties. Missing your enrollment window can result in a permanent premium penalty for both Part B and Part D. Signing up on time protects your wallet for years to come. 5. Compare plans and save . At: www.Medicare.gov , you can compare plan costs side-by-side, based on the specific drugs you take. A quick comparison could save you money each year. You can also confirm your current doctors are in-network before you choose a plan. Turning 65 is a milestone worth celebrating and it’s the perfect time to focus on what matters most: your health and well-being. That includes eating well, exercising and making sure you have health insurance that fits your needs. There’s no one-size-fits-all plan. What’s important is finding an option that works for you and your health and financial needs. Start your journey at: www.Medicare.gov – your roadmap to a healthier and confident future.
