Everyone Loves An Oreo: They Have A Lot Of Love To Share

Can I come live with you? My name is Oreo (ID 687718) and sadly I lost my home because my beloved owner had to move to an assisted living facility and could not take me along. I miss him but hope someone will let me spend my golden years with them. As my name describes, I’m a black and White Feline who weighs 14-pounds and I’m 11-years-young. I’m easy-going, enjoy taking naps and will tell you stories for attention. Once I get to know you, we can cuddle, and I hope you can supply me with lots of soft kitty toys and a scratching post. I might be the oldest feline at the shelter currently, but I have a lot of love to share.

Get Ready for King Tides

Unusually high tides, also known as King Tides, are expected periodically through mid-December. Flooding in low-lying areas is more likely during this time of the year due to the close proximity of the moon which creates King Tides. These seasonal high tides, combined with rising sea levels and inclement weather conditions, exacerbate flooding risks. Rainfall and wind strength and direction also have a significant impact on the height of the tides causing them to come in higher or lower than predicted. With seven miles of shoreline, 7.9 miles of canals, and a flat topography, Hollywood is vulnerable to the effects of sea level rise and tidal flooding.

All sides are still waging war on our constitutional freedoms, and “we the people” remain the biggest losers. This year’s presidential election is no exception.
