- Newest Nick Reagan Thriller: Tackles Evil And Corruption Within U.S. Borders
Newest Nick Reagan Thriller: Tackles Evil And Corruption Within U.S. Borders February 21, 2024 Share Bestselling Author Jeffrey Stephens delivers a nail-biting escape from reality — while exploring contemporary real-world problems — in his latest spy thriller, Enemies Among Us. “You’ve got to keep the action going,” Stephens said during an interview. “This is not some kind of deep psychological treatise; this is a thriller, and if people aren’t turning the pages, then I’m not doing my job.” Enemies Among Us is a sequel to Stephens’ first book in the series, The Handler, which an: www.Authors.com reviewer called “a heart-pounding ride with great narratives … It’s got it all — spies, assassins, guns and terrorist cells … If you liked Vince Flynn novels, you would love Stephens’ super-cool CIA operative Nick Reagan.” Enemies Among Us takes all that to another level, as Reagan and his partner, Carol Gellos, attempt to track down the terrorist responsible for the planned attacks in The Handler. While the good guys are easily identified in that story, it is a bit more difficult to tell the heroes from the villains in Enemies Among Us. As Reagan assembles clues to the whereabouts of his prey, his superiors in the CIA inexplicably order him to stand down, and it becomes increasingly evident that the evil he faces could be corruption from within. Charting an unfamiliar course amidst the pervasive treachery and deadly secrets inside the nation’s capital, Reagan is not sure who he can trust as he works to expose the worst of America’s elite — those who believe in a New World Order. Violent confrontations intensify with each new act of treason he unearths, leaving Reagan to rely on his patriotic instincts as he and his team risk their lives to bring down these traitors and restore safety and freedom. “Many may have thought the continuing threat from terrorists was over,” Stephens said, “but as we have recently seen, it remains incredibly current and violent … while few would believe that corruption within our own intelligence services and the highest levels of corporate power are something we are dealing with in real time.” In additional to The Handler and Enemies Among Us, he is the author of the Jordan Sandor thrillers, Targets of Deception, Targets of Opportunity, Targets of Revenge and Rogue Mission, as well as the Anthony Walker murder mystery Crimes and Passion and the Pencraft First-Place Award-Winning Novel, Fool’s Errand. The Author Jeffrey Stephens was born in New York City and graduated from the Bronx High School of Science at the age of 16; he completed a B.A. in Creative Writing from Pennsylvania State University at 19. Jeffrey began his first novel in 1970, which would not be completed for several years as he entered the Fordham University School of Law. His Private Legal Practice has included extensive civil and criminal courtroom experience, and he has represented a wide range of celebrity clients. Continuing to practice Law while completing several novels, he only recently decided to pursue his career as a novelist in earnest, with the encouragement of his wife, Nancy. Nancy and Jeffrey live in Greenwich, Connecticut, where they raised two sons, Graham and Trevor. - Give Comfort Food Classics An Authentic Mexican Twist
Give Comfort Food Classics An Authentic Mexican Twist By Family Features March 22, 2024 Share If you are stuck in a dinner rut, heat up the kitchen with family favorites everyone can look forward to. Soup is an all time staple thanks to its simplicity, and you can put a delicious spin on your soup meal with Mexican-inspired ingredients. Giving soup night a twist starts with Cacique Foods, one of the country's top authentic Mexican food brands, that invites friends and family to share real moments while savoring authentic flavors. This Smoky Chorizo and Chicken Pozole relies on the bold, hearty, spicy taste of Cacique's Pork Chorizo combined with handcrafted Homestyle Salsa. Queso Fresco's crumbly, creamy texture and milky, fresh flavor adds the perfect finishing touch, making this soup a perfect way to warm up weeknights with just the right amount of heat. For a flavorful side that complements a variety of main courses while adding Mexican flair, consider Mexican Loaded Mashed Potatoes. This recipe is a familiar favorite with the unique twist of Bacon and Pork Chorizo for a meat-infused recipe that will become a menu mainstay. Plus, for an extra creamy texture, it calls for Cacique Crema Mexicana - an everyday table cream with a neutral, fresh-tasting flavor ideal for balancing out spice - and Oaxaca, a semisoft cheese with a mellow, buttery flavor. A Hilarious Ride with Michelle Buteau Kicking off the comedy series in style is none other than Michelle Buteau, a comedic powerhouse who has recently taken the entertainment world by storm. Michelle found her voice on the stand-up stage before adding her unique personality to a variety of film and television projects. A New Jersey native, she started her career as a news editor in New York. She initially turned to performing comedy as a way of dealing with the overpowering emotions of the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001, something that she was unable to escape as a member of the news media. Buteau was a steady presence in comedy clubs from then on, gradually building a reputation for her sassy, outspoken routines. Her rise up the comedy ranks began to pay off with television appearances on shows like "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." She gained further notice with her commentary on a revival of the cable show "Best Week Ever." She mixed in occasional acting appearances and kept up a full slate of stand-up appearances while also adding the podcast "Late Night Whenever!" to her resume. She continued acting as well, with noteworthy appearances on "Broad City" and "The Tick." Her screen career picked up steam in earnest beginning in 2019. Buteau's talent extends beyond the stage. She's set to return to Netflix as the mastermind behind the upcoming series "Survival of the Thickest." Drawing inspiration from her autobiographical book of essays by the same name, the show promises to be a riotous exploration of life's quirks and quibbles. As if that weren't enough, Buteau is also at the helm of two wildly popular reality competition shows on Netflix: "The Circle" and "Barbecue Showdown." Her comedic prowess isn't confined to the screen either. Buteau has made her mark in Hollywood with appearances in hit films and TV shows like "Marry Me," "First Wives Club," "Always Be My Maybe," "Awkwafina is Nora from Queens," "Russian Doll," and "Someone Great." And if you thought that was the extent of her talents, think again—Buteau also writes the Modern Manners column for Real Simple and hosts the immensely popular podcast "Adulting." With such a diverse and impressive repertoire, Buteau promises an evening of laughter that's not to be missed. Michelle won the Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy Special for "Welcome to Buteaupia" on Netflix that speaks volumes about her comedic prowess. As the guitarist who fronted for Procol Harum before launching his own celebrated four-decade career, Trower, a true axeman's axeman, took the ethereal sound that Hendrix first introduced to the world and created his own signature sound and style. For six decades, his career has been an act of quiet rebellion. In the early ‘70s, Trower announced his fearless streak by leaving the security of Procol Harum for a gold-selling solo career whose “Bridge Of Sighs” album filled the stadiums of North America. Their groove, in songs like “Dixie Chicken,” “Spanish Moon,” “Fat Man in the Bathtub” and “Feats Don’t Fail Me Now,” was so infectious it allowed them to endure and press on even when losing Founder, Lowell George and Founding Drummer, Richie Hayward. With their latest album “Sam’s Place” released in 2024, they are in top form now with Scott Sharrard on lead/vocals and Tony Leone on drums/vocals, and with Founder, Bill Payne on keys/vocals, Fred Tackett on guitars/vocals, Kenny Gradney on bass and Sam Clayton on percussion/vocals.
