Recorded And Mixed With Producer Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton, Phish), Living In The Light Is A Virtuosic Blend Of Acoustic Pop, Jazz, Classical And Roots Music Delivered By One Of The Modern Era’s Most Accomplished And Versatile Guitarists. The Release Has Been Praised By Premier Guitar, American Blues Scene, And The Bluegrass Situation, Who Called It “His Most Eclectic Album.” Emmanuel Is Currently On A National Tour In Support Of The Album, Including A Performance At New York City’s Carnegie Hall On October 30 With Richard Thompson. Find A Full List Of Tour Dates Below Or Visit His Website: https://tommyemmanuel.com/ “In these modern times of information overload, our minds are getting flooded and our hearts are drowning,” Emmanuel explains of “A Drowning Heart.” “This song is to direct myself to what’s important in my heart and soul. I hope it can do the same for others.” Emmanuel captured most of the performances on Living in the Light in one or two takes, and the sense of joy and wonder in these sonic explorations is more than just palpable; it’s intoxicating. While many of the recordings are solo instrumentals, Emmanuel lends his voice to several of the album’s tracks, as well, grounding his dazzling, percussive fretwork with a poignant dose of warmth and vulnerability. “There are elements of rockabilly, blues, even traditional African music all woven into the music,” Emmanuel explains. “I’m a world traveler and I’ve absorbed so much music along the way. It all gets synthesized through a kind of osmosis into my psyche and my soul and then comes out in my own unique style.” Tommy Emmanuel first began touring at the age of six in his native Australia as part of a family band. In his teenage years, he turned heads as a highly sought after session player and sideman, and by his early twenties, Emmanuel was playing on chart-topping hits and performing with some of the biggest names in Australian music, including Air Supply and Men at Work. Inspired in part by his hero, Chet Atkins; who would later become a friend, mentor and collaborator, Emmanuel stepped out on his own as a solo artist in 1979, releasing the first in a string of critically and commercially acclaimed instrumental albums that would make him an unlikely celebrity in his home country and beyond. In the decades that followed, he would go on to headline everywhere from the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall; tour with the likes of Eric Clapton and John Denver; win a GRAMMY Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement; perform for a televised audience of more than two billion at the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics; and collaborate with everyone from Les Paul and Mark Knopfler to Joe Walsh and Richard Thompson. NPR’s World Cafe declared him “one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world,” while the New York Times hailed him as a “prodigy,” and Atkins crowned him with the title of Certified Guitar Player (an honorary only ever bestowed upon four other artists). Emmanuel continued to push himself throughout his career, relocating permanently to Nashville in the early 2000’s and collaborating with a rising generation of guitarists like Jason Isbell, Molly Tuttle, and Billy Strings on his latest studio albums, Accomplice One and Accomplice Two. “Those albums were a real labor of love,” Emmanuel explains “and I was thrilled with how they came out. But I felt a strong desire to focus on my writing again after that, and I found that the songs for Living in the Light just started pouring out of me.” More than sixty years into his storied career, Tommy Emmanuel is still hungry for adventure. “As I get older, I find myself taking a lot more risks and having a lot more fun in the process,” says Emmanuel, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday. “When young people come to my shows and have this awakening that it’s okay to be different, that the possibilities of music and self-expression are limitless, that’s what it’s all about for me.” Tracklisting: 1. • Memorial Cancer Institute To Attack Live Tumors With Ultrasound Waves - Cancers In Other Organs Expected To Be Next Targets For Non-Surgical Approach | sun-times

Memorial Cancer Institute To Attack Live Tumors With Ultrasound Waves - Cancers In Other Organs Expected To Be Next Targets For Non-Surgical Approach South Florida Sun Times May 8, 2025 The Latest Advancement In The Treatment Of Liver Cancer Is Liquifying Tumors With High-Intensity Ultrasound Waves In A Completely Non-Invasive Fashion. The New Approach Provides Additional Options For Patients With The Difficult Diagnoses Of Malignant Liver Tumors, According To Dr. Omar Llaguna, A Surgical Oncologist With The Memorial Cancer Institute At Memorial Healthcare System. The FDA-approved technology, known as the Edison Histotripsy System, is expected to arrive at Memorial in May and could immediately benefit hundreds of Cancer patients. Llaguna and his colleagues will be among the few specialists in South Florida with the training and equipment required to deploy the non-invasive, limited morbidity approach. “The ultrasound technology is highly targeted, enabling us to generate a bubble cloud that disrupts and damages Cancer Cells in the Liver, effectively liquifying the mass for the body to eliminate,” said Dr. Llaguna, an expert in the treatment of Gastrointestinal Cancers. “Imagine an underwater tornado within the tumor that eliminates the diseased cells while preserving healthy tissue, blood vessels, and bile ducts around it.” Since the Edison System is non-invasive, patients can undergo treatment without the need for needles, radiation, or surgery, meaning less pain, faster recovery, and reduced risk of complications. It is a complement to, not a replacement for, traditional Chemotherapy, which remains the standard of care for most GI Cancers. The Histotripsy Procedure is performed under general anesthesia, not due to pain, but to ensure patient stillness. During the treatment, Surgical Oncologists use a robotic arm to sequentially destroy the tumor. Since there are no incisions involved, there is minimal risk of infection and no concerns about scarring, allowing patients to return home the same day. Clinical trials have shown an impressive 85-95% overall success rate. Memorial will initially use Histotripsy to target primary Liver Tumors, as well as Cancer that has metastasized to the Liver from other parts of the body. Histotripsy for tumors in the Kidneys, Prostate, and Pancreas are currently under investigation as potential targets for the ultrasound treatment. “It’s uncommon to find an aggressive treatment that doesn’t elevate risk, but this one is different,” said Dr. Llaguna. “Of course, we’ll continue to monitor patients after the procedure since what might be a cure for some might only slow the progression of Cancer in others,” he said. Memorial will house the Edison System at Memorial Hospital West, where Dr. Llaguna primarily practices, in close proximity to Memorial Cancer Institute. Dr. Christopher Gannon, Memorial’s Chief of Surgical Oncology, and Dr. Gabriel Ologun complete the team, offering Histotripsy as a treatment option for patients with Primary or Metastatic Liver Cancers. For more information about Histotripsy and the forthcoming approach at Memorial, or if you are a physician interested in making a patient referral, please contact Memorial’s Division of Surgical Oncology at: (954) 844-9520. Memorial Cancer Institute is one of the largest Cancer Centers in Florida, treating nearly 5,000 newly diagnosed patients each year and pioneering advances in patient care. Through a research alliance with Florida Atlantic University, Memorial Cancer Institute is among a select group of Florida-designated “Cancer Centers of Excellence,” offering diagnosis, integrated treatment, clinical trials/research, counseling, and support services customized for the patient and their family in a healing environment close to home. • Annual Water Line Flushing Program Scheduled: Water Remains Safe During this Required Process August 19th - September 22nd

Annual Water Line Flushing Program Scheduled: Water Remains Safe During this Required Process August 19th - September 22nd August 8, 2024 Share The City of Hollywood Department of Public Utilities will begin its Annual Breakpoint Chlorination, AKA Free Chlorination, System Flushing Program on August 19th, 2024. The Free Chlorination portion of this program will end on September 22nd, 2024. Water Distribution System Line Flushing may continue across the city for an additional two weeks to achieve optimal system maintenance through October 3rd, 2024. The Annual Flushing Program changes the water disinfection type temporarily and uses High Water Volume Pressure to rid the water distribution pipes of accumulated sediments. Flushing is accomplished by Utility Staff opening hydrants systematically and may temporarily cause cloudy or discolored water. The water should settle and clear within a few hours after the pipes have been flushed. The cloudiness comes from sediments in the pipes and is not harmful or hazardous. Flushing typically takes place in the evening hours between approximately 8:00 p.m. and midnight when the water demand is low. During the water line flushing period, the Water Treatment Plant will temporarily change its method of disinfection from chloramines to free chlorination. Residents may notice a change in the taste and odor of the water during this time, but the water remains safe to drink. PLEASE NOTE: The city will discontinue Free Chlorination as of September 22nd. Owners and managers of businesses with Fish and Shellfish Holding Tanks and users of Kidney Dialysis Machines are advised that regular methods for testing and removing Free Chlorine will not be effective during the remainder of the flushing period. It will be necessary to test and adjust for Chloramines after September 22nd. For questions please call: (954) 967-4230. Option#: 2 or the Water Treatment Plant at: (954) 967-4230. Ask for Luis Montoya, Public Utilities Manager, or Jorge Marin, Water Treatment Plant Superintendent. < Previous News Next News >
