Anyone who has ever wanted to solve a cold murder case, inhabit the world of Clue and unravel its mystery like a real detective now has the chance with this real-life version of the beloved board game. In this gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination, “Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, Jr.” is this year’s youth spring musical performed on the Amaturo Theater stage by students grades 4-12 of the Broward Center and Performance Project, Inc. on April 15th at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and April 17th at 8:00 p.m. This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson. With her astonishing wit, intelligence and special powers, Matilda is unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however. The school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts and could be the school pupils' saving grace. Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, “Matilda, Jr.” is a joyous girl-power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination. This Performance Project Production is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. Support for The Performance Project is provided by the Broward County Cultural Division. He has released multiple solo albums, including “Sensual Melodies” and “Boundless” and continues to captivate audiences with his mix of Classical, Jazz, R&B and Pop influences. “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley” brings everyone's favorite two-dimensional hero from the beloved children's book by Jeff Brown to the Amaturo Theater. - Pressuring Ally Israel To Implement Never-Agreed-To 15-Point Gaza “Roadmap” And To Prematurely Cease Necessary Operations Against Muslim Terrorist Hamas Won’t Bring Peace | sun-times
Pressuring Ally Israel To Implement Never-Agreed-To 15-Point Gaza “Roadmap” And To Prematurely Cease Necessary Operations Against Muslim Terrorist Hamas Won’t Bring Peace Jewish Connection News Sep 10, 2026 Zionist Organization Of America (ZOA) National President Morton A. Klein Released The Following Statement: Yesterday, while Muslim Hamas continues operations in Gaza, eight Arab nations (Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey, Qatar and the UAE) posted an outrageous, despicable statement calling for a Palestinian (terror) state on suicidal pre-1967 lines and accusing Israel of “direct and full responsibility for any consequences resulting from its continued rejection, obstruction, delay or non-compliance” with the so-called Board of Peace’s(BoP) 15-point “roadmap.” As ZOA previously explained, the “roadmap” rewrites, reverses and contorts the already insufficient requirements of President Trump’s 20-point plan. The roadmap that the BoP (including Hamas supporters Qatar and Turkey) is attempting to impose turns the requirement that Hamas must totally demilitarize into a fictitious process that allows Hamas to keep “personal” arms; allows Hamas to conveniently store, not destroy, its heavy arms from where they can be easily retrieved; eliminates the requirement to deradicalize Hamas; eliminates the security perimeter essential for Israeli civilians’ safety; deletes humanitarian emigration for Gazans; adds a new requirement to clearly commit to creating a Palestinian (terror) state; and unilaterally ties Israel’s hands by calling for Israel to “completely, without delay” cease military operations – without such a “without delay” requirement on Hamas and other Gazan terror groups. (See “New 15-Point Plan Rewrites Trump’s Already Concerning October 2025 20-Point Plan to Further Endanger Israel and to Assist Hamas and Other Palestinian Terror Groups,” by Morton Klein, Jerusalem Post, August 5th, 2026.) Not surprisingly, Israel and its Cabinet never agreed to the BoP’s disastrous “roadmap.” As ZOA explained regarding the Iran-U.S. MOU’s attempt to restrict Israel’s actions against Lebanon without Israel’s consent, one of the most fundamental principles of international law is that documents cannot impose obligations on a state that has not consented to be bound. Moreover, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu rightfully rejected the “roadmap,” saying that “the IDF will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed. It needs to be genuine disarmament, not fictitious disarmament. When I say Hamas is disarmed, that means the heavy weapons, the less heavy weapons, all the weapons.” The eight Arab nations’ vicious statement is unconscionable. Particularly when, during the past week, there were more than 65 incidents of Hamas infiltrating into the yellow zone in Gaza, including an incident in which Hamas stole Israeli engineering equipment, and the IDF opened fire in none of these serious cases. ZOA also is deeply concerned that, at a meeting yesterday in Cairo (which included Muslim Hamas-supporting BoP members Muslim Qatar and Muslim Turkey, and unfriendly-to-Israel senior envoys Nickolay Mladenov and Tony Blair), Jared Kushner reportedly “sought to reassure [Hamas leader Khalil al-] Hayya that the US-controlled Board of Peace would press Israel to stop strikes in Gaza and gradually withdraw from the Strip once Hamas begins turning over its weapons.” In addition, President Trump reportedly told Fox News’ Trey Yingst during a phone interview that Israel shouldn’t be striking Hamas, because “ultimately, they [Hamas] are giving up their guns.” ZOA appreciates Kushner’s efforts to pressure the murderous Nazi-like Islamic Terrorist group Hamas to disarm. However, pressuring Israel to cease needed strikes on Hamas Terrorists who continue to attack Israelis, or pressuring Israel to prematurely withdraw from its current security zones in Gaza prior to Hamas’ complete disarmament, deradicalization and cessation of operations, is a recipe for disaster and will not bring peace. ZOA Praises Trump Restricting Entry Of Foreign Nationals - Posing Security Risks And Restricting Visas For Harvard Foreign Students Jewish Connection News Jul 9, 2025 The ZOA Praises President Donald Trump For Issuing Two Executive Orders On June 4th, 2025, To Improve National Security, Including The Security Of Vulnerable, Targeted American Jews Throughout The United States And At Harvard University: “Proclamation Restricting The Entry Of Foreign Nationals To Protect The United States From Foreign Terrorists And Other National Security And Public Safety Threats,” And “Proclamation Enhancing National Security By Addressing Risks At Harvard University.” The first proclamation reiterated President Trump’s Executive Order 14161 of January 20th, 2025 (Protecting the United States From Foreign Terrorists and Other National Security and Public Safety Threats), that “The United States must ensure that admitted aliens and aliens otherwise already present in the United States do not bear hostile attitudes toward its citizens, culture, government, institutions, or founding principles, and do not advocate for, aid, or support designated foreign terrorists or other threats to our national security.” Protecting the security of all American citizens is indeed the first duty of an American president. Too many immigrants have hostile attitudes towards U.S. citizens – especially American Jewish citizens – including the Egyptian immigrant who attempted to burn to death American Jews in Boulder, Colorado. It is thus shameful and dangerous to the American Jewish public that the American Jewish Committee (AJC) publicly opposed President Trump’s proclamation protecting our security from hostile immigrants. The first June 4th proclamation was issued after the U.S. Administration determined that vetting procedures from specific countries were deficient, and after accounting for national security, counterterrorism and foreign policy objectives. The proclamation fully restricted and limited the entry of nationals from Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen; and partially restricted and limited the entry of nationals from: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. The proclamation noted that visa overstays rates from these countries ranged from 6.49% to 70.18%. All these rates are well above the national average overstay rate of 1.45%. Visa overstays are a major portion of illegal immigrants. (See “Visa Overstays Make up Almost 40 Percent of Illegal U.S. Entries,” Statista, by Katharina Buchholz, May 21st, 2025.) The proclamation further noted that the restricted countries included U.S.-designated state sponsors of Terrorism (Iran and Cuba); nations that fail to cooperate with the U.S. in identifying security risks; and nations that refuse to accept back, removable nationals. If anything, ZOA wonders whether the proclamation should be expanded to include nationals from more countries, including: Egypt – the origin of the Boulder, CO arsonist and Molotov-cocktail attacker; Egypt also refuses to admit most Gazan refugees; Jordan – which likewise refuses to admit most Gazan refugees and gives safe harbor to Sbarro restaurant killer Ahlam Tamimi; Pakistan – the origin of the poorly vetted San Bernardino, CA Christmas party shooter and terrorist group that tortured and murdered a pregnant Jewish woman and others at the Mumbai, India Chabad house; and Syria – which is still a designated state sponsor of terrorism. The DHS 2023 Overstay Report reveals that overstay rates from these countries for nonimmigrants admitted for business or pleasure and for students were, respectively: 4.16% and 4.23% for Egyptians; 5.88% and 10.04% for Jordanians; 5.03% and 4.65% for Pakistanis and 9.68% and 12.25% for Syrians. These are all well above national overstay rates. ZOA also strongly applauds the president’s proclamation that the U.S. must be protected from those who bear hostile attitudes toward U.S. citizens. In order to carry this out, ZOA suggests that vetting procedures should add specific questions about potential entrants’ attitudes toward U.S. citizens. For instance, potential entrants should be asked “do you have any hostility toward Jews?” President Trump’s second proclamation, restricting entry of foreign nationals to study at Harvard, is also an important step for protecting national and students’ safety – especially Jewish students’ safety. The proclamation notes that “Harvard University has refused the recent requests of the DHS for information about foreign students’ ‘known illegal activity,’ ‘known dangerous and violent activity,’ ‘known threats to other students or university personnel,’ ‘known deprivation of rights of other classmates or university personnel,’ and whether those activities ‘occurred on campus,’ and other related data. Harvard provided data on misconduct by only three students, and the data it provided was so deficient that the DHS could not evaluate whether it should take further actions. Harvard’s actions show that it either is not fully reporting its disciplinary records for foreign students or is not seriously policing its foreign students.” After decades of Harvard failing to police foreign students’ harassment and attacks on Jewish students, the new restrictions are a much-needed breath of fresh air. - Adopt a Catch Basin: Join The City of Hollywood to Help Control Flooding
Adopt a Catch Basin: Join The City of Hollywood to Help Control Flooding June 8, 2023 Share Now that we are in the rainy season, frequent heavy rainstorms increases the potential for localized flooding. City of Hollywood crews work to keep the more than 157 miles of underground storm system piping and 4900 catch basins clean. Residents can also do their part by pitching in to help control flooding in and around their neighborhood by adopting their own catch basin. The adoption is easy - just sign-up to adopt, take a look at the basin at least once a month and clean it as needed. Then submit proof of your efforts. In doing so, you can earn points for rewards for helping to prevent flooding and waterway pollution. Help to make a real difference in your neighborhood, sign up today: www.hollywoodfl.org/1460/Adopt-A-Catch-Basin-Program You can also reduce the amount of debris that flows into the storm drain system by throwing coconuts into your garbage cart for collection, and ensuring your lawn clippings and yard waste is properly disposed. For catch basin issues in the City of Hollywood, please call the Underground Utilities Division at: 954.921.3046. Flood Safety Tips Call 911 if floodwater impacts your home and creates an emergency situation such as a fire. • Report a storm water issue by calling: 954.921.3046. This is the same number to call to report issues after hours, on weekends and holidays. • Report street-level flooding that makes roads impassable by calling: 954.764.4357. • Motorists should not attempt to drive through flooded areas. Remember, "Turn Around, Don't Drown." • Use caution with electrical appliances, electrical cords and outlets if floodwaters have entered your home. Residents should not wade in standing flood water, which can contain contaminants. Following a heavy storm, sharp debris and other items from overturned garbage bins could be hidden in the water and cause injury. Standing water also may contain harmful bacteria that could cause infection. Children and pets should not be allowed to play in flood water.
