Attorney General Moody Files Lawsuit: Against Biden-Harris Administration Over Refusal To Produce Documents Detailing The Release Of Criminal Illegal immigrants In Florida September 12, 2024 Share Attorney General Ashley Moody last week filed a lawsuit against the Biden-Harris Administration over its failure to produce public documents responsive to a Freedom Of Information Act Request. The FOIA Request, filed by the Florida Attorney General’s Office in March, seeks documents regarding the administration’s policies permitting the release of dangerous criminals into the United States following their release from U.S. prisons. Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “In addition to flat out refusing to secure the border, reports indicate that President Biden and failed Border Czar Kamala Harris refuse to deport dangerous Illegal Immigrant prisoners into our communities once they are released from prison. On top of that, reports last week show possible foreign gang affiliated Illegal Aliens overtaking apartment complexes in American cities. This administration has made it clear they will not turn over documents showing this dangerous and unlawful scheme in a timely manner. Now, American cities are suffering in a very public way. I will not stand idly by and allow this dereliction of duty, that is why I filed suit today.” In March, Attorney General Moody filed the FOIA Request saying at the time, “The Biden Administration has full knowledge that prisoners from other countries are making their way into the United States through our wide-open border. Now, we are demanding to know reasons why the Biden Administration is releasing Criminal Illegal Aliens in U.S. prisons directly into the interior, rather than deporting them back to their country of origin. This reckless scheme could have disastrous and serious repercussions, and the American people deserve to know.” After the administration failed to respond to the request, Attorney General Moody filed a complaint for injunctive relief and to compel production of documents in Federal District Court. The complaint reads in part, “Historically, when Illegal Aliens were brought to the U.S. to be prosecuted for their crimes, it was well understood that the aliens would be deported once they have served their sentence. That was until the Biden-Harris Administration implemented their shockingly irresponsible immigration policy, pushing unknown numbers of dangerous criminals straight from federal prison into our communities and causing chaos, anarchy, and crime.” The complaint goes on to state, “Recently, Americans watched in horror as they witnessed the consequences of this Biden-Harris policy, as well as other open borders policies, when armed gang members took over an apartment complex in Colorado and used it as a base for criminal activity. That incident represents merely one example of the destruction and chaos wrought by this Administration’s policy choices. Even so, most Americans do not understand just how reckless the Biden-Harris Administration has been behaving. By way of example, consider aliens caught on the high seas seeking to smuggle Illicit Drugs into our country. Unlike aliens who reach land, aliens caught at sea are generally not eligible to Claim Asylum or to appear before an Immigration Judge. The Federal Government, however, sometimes chooses to bring these Criminal Aliens to the United States so the aliens can be prosecuted consistent with Federal Law and serve time in prison. But everyone has always assumed—in both Democratic and Republican Administrations—that such aliens would be deported the moment they finished their criminal sentence. Otherwise, the decision to bring a criminal to the United States for prosecution results in a benefit to that alien in the form of the right to permanently remain in the United States. For the first time in history, however, the Biden-Harris Administration has abandoned that practice…In other words, as things stand, asylum seekers caught on the high seas have been returned to their home country without even seeing an Immigration Judge, while Drug Traffickers and other serious criminals brought to the United States only for the purpose of serving prison time are being released straight into our communities to wreak havoc on our citizenry.” Read the full complaint at: https://www.myfloridalegal.com/sites/default/files/2024-09/boats-complaint_as-filed.pdf < Previous News Next News >

  • Who Owns America? Oligarchs Have Bought Up The American Dream

Who Owns America? Oligarchs Have Bought Up The American Dream By John & Nisha Whitehead August 23, 2024 Share “The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the State Houses, the City Halls. They got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear… They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying. Lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else... It’s called the American Dream, 'cause you have to be asleep to believe it.” — George Carlin Who owns America? Is it the government? The politicians? The corporations? The foreign investors? The American people? While the Deep State keeps the nation divided and distracted by a presidential election whose outcome is foregone (the police state’s stranglehold on power will ensure the continuation of endless wars and out-of-control spending, while disregarding the citizenry’s fundamental rights and the rule of law), America is literally being bought and sold right out from under us. Consider the facts. We’re losing more and more of our land every year to corporations and foreign interests. Foreign ownership of U.S. Agricultural Land has increased by 66% since 2010. In 2021, it was reported that foreign investors owned approximately 40 million acres of U.S. Agricultural Land, which is more than the entire state of Iowa. By 2022 that number had grown to 43.4 million acres. The rate at which U.S. Farmland is being bought up by foreign interests grew by 2.2 million acres per year from 2015 to 2021. The number of U.S. farm acres owned by foreign entities grew more than 8% (3.4 million acres) in 2022. We’re losing more and more of our businesses every year to foreign corporations and interests. Although China owns a small fraction of Foreign-Owned U.S. Land at 380,000 acres (less than the state of Rhode Island), Chinese companies and investors are also buying up major food companies, commercial and residential real estate, and other businesses. As RetailWire explains, “Currently, many brands started by early American pioneers now wave international flags. This revolution is a direct result of globalization.” The growing list of once-notable American brands that have been sold to foreign corporations includes: U.S. Steel (now Japanese-owned); General Electric (Chinese-owned); Budweiser (Belgium); Burger King (Canada); 7-Eleven (Japan); Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge (Netherlands); and IBM (China). We’re digging ourselves deeper and deeper into debt, both as a nation and as a populace. Basically, the U.S. Government is funding its existence with a credit card, spending money it doesn’t have on programs it can’t afford. The bulk of that debt has been amassed over the past two decades, thanks in large part to the fiscal shenanigans of four presidents, 10 sessions of Congress and two wars. The national debt (the amount the federal government has borrowed over the years and must pay back) is more than $34 trillion and will grow another $19 trillion by 2033. Foreign ownership makes up 29% of the U.S. debt held by the public. Of that amount, reports the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, “52 percent was held by private foreign investors while foreign governments held the remaining 48 percent.” The Fourth Estate has been taken over by media conglomerates that prioritize profit over principle. Independent news agencies, which were supposed to act as bulwarks against government propaganda, have been subsumed by a global corporate takeover of newspapers, television and radio. Consequently, a handful of corporations now control most of the media industry and, thus, the information dished out to the public. Likewise, with Facebook and Google having appointed themselves the arbiters of disinformation, we now find ourselves grappling with new levels of corporate censorship by entities with a history of colluding with the government to keep the citizenry mindless, muzzled and in the dark. Most critically of all, however, the U.S. Government, long ago sold to the highest bidders, has become little more than a shell company, a front for corporate interests. Nowhere is this state of affairs more evident than in the manufactured spectacle that is the presidential election. As for members of Congress, long before they’re elected, they are trained to dance to the tune of their wealthy benefactors, so much so that they spend two-thirds of their time in office raising money. As Reuters reports, “It also means that lawmakers often spend more time listening to the concerns of the wealthy than anyone else.” In the oligarchy that is the American police state, it clearly doesn’t matter who wins the White House, because they all work for the same boss: a Corporate State that has gone global. So much for living the American dream. “We The People” have become the new, permanent underclass in America. We’re being forced to shell out money for endless wars that are bleeding us dry; money for surveillance systems to track our movements; money to further militarize our already militarized police; money to allow the government to raid our homes and bank accounts; money to fund schools where our kids learn nothing about freedom and everything about how to comply; and on and on. This is no way of life. It’s tempting to say that there’s little we can do about it, except that’s not quite accurate. There are a few things we can do (demand transparency, reject cronyism and graft, insist on fair pricing and honest accounting methods, call a halt to incentive-driven government programs that prioritize profits over people), but it will require that “we the people” stop playing politics and stand united against the politicians and corporate interests who have turned our government and economy into a pay-to-play exercise in fascism. Unfortunately, we’ve become so invested in identity politics that label us based on our political leanings that we’ve lost sight of the one label that unites us: we’re all Americans. The powers-that-be want us to adopt an “us versus them” mindset that keeps us powerless and divided. Yet as I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People and in its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, the only “us versus them” that matters is “We The People” against the Deep State. • Take Steps Now To Protect Your Vision | sun-times

Take Steps Now To Protect Your Vision By Family Features Jun 19, 2025 Your Quality Of Life And Overall Well-Being Depend On Developing Habits That Range From Eating A Healthy Diet And Drinking Plenty Of Water To Protecting Your Skin From Sun Damage. These And Other Practices Are Also Essential To Your Eye Health. To remind people of the importance of routine vision care, the National Eye Institute established Healthy Vision Month and launched the "Healthy Lives, Healthy Eyes" campaign, highlighting the connection between general health and eye health. Protecting your overall health can go a long way toward keeping your eyes healthy. This awareness campaign emphasizes the role vision care plays in daily life, promoting proactive eye care to help protect your vision. Nearly 80 million Americans have diseases that cause vision loss, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Regular eye exams are the single best thing you can do for your eye health. Because many eye diseases don't immediately show symptoms, these exams make it possible for a doctor to find early signs of vision problems. During a dilated eye exam, a doctor puts drops in your eyes to widen the pupil and check for eye diseases. This simple, painless procedure helps detect common eye diseases like Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma and age-related Macular Degeneration. Along with routine visits to an eye doctor, consider these healthy lifestyle habits suggested by the National Eye Institute to protect your vision: Eat healthy. Add plenty of dark, leafy greens like Spinach, Kale and Collard Greens to your menu. Eating fish that are high in Omega-3 Fatty Acids - like: Salmon, Tuna and Halibut - are good for your eyes, too. Get active. Regular physical activity helps you stay healthy and lowers your risk of health conditions like Diabetes and High Blood Pressure that can cause eye or vision problems. Diabetes can damage the blood vessels in the Retina, leading to vision loss, blindness or other eye diseases. High Blood Pressure is a known risk factor in the onset or progression of several eye diseases. Know your family's eye health history. Some eye diseases can run in families. Ask your loved ones if they've faced eye problems or health challenges that could impact vision. If they have, share what you've learned with your eye doctor. Manage digital eye strain. According to the American Optometric Association, looking at screens for just two continuous hours is enough to cause digital eye strain, which includes symptoms like dry eyes, itching, a feeling like something is stuck in the eye, watering, blurry vision and headaches. To help reduce digital eye strain, follow the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break to look at something 20 feet away. Quit smoking. Kicking the smoking habit is good for every part of your body - including your eyes. Quitting can help lower your risk for eye diseases like macular degeneration and cataracts. When you take care of your eye health, you're also taking care of your whole body. Protecting your eye health now can help you see a brighter future tomorrow. • City Of Hollywood Launches Turtle-Friendly Lighting Recognition Program

City Of Hollywood Launches Turtle-Friendly Lighting Recognition Program March 2, 2023 Share This week marks the beginning of the 2023 Sea Turtle Nesting Season, which takes place every year from March 1st through October 31st. During this time, the City Of Hollywood’s “Turtle Friendly Lighting Ordinance” is in effect, when the City’s Hatchlings are attracted to light. On undeveloped beaches, the ocean horizon is lighter than the land so new hatchlings head toward the water. In an urban beach environment, artificial light from buildings can disorient hatchlings and attract them away from the ocean. Turtle friendly lighting can minimize disorientation and make Hollywood Beach more hospitable to these endangered species. The Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program (BCSTCP) documented 3,650 nests on the County's 24-mile coastline (including the Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park) in 2022. That’s a record for our area, and Hollywood’s sandy beach plays an important role in that success. Our beach is the desired nesting habitat for three species of endangered sea turtles: leatherbacks, loggerheads and greens. It is vital that everyone does their part to ensure future successful nesting seasons on Hollywood Beach. Sea Turtle Friendly Lighting Lighting near the beach should be "sea turtle-friendly" and follow these three criteria established by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC): Keep it low: Fixtures should be mounted as low as possible to achieve their purpose and their bulbs should produce the lowest lumens (light output) necessary for the task. In addition to low lumens, keep the fixture shielded, the bulb, lamp or glowing lens should be shielded from the beach and the interior lights should not be visible from the beach. If you live near the beach, close your curtains, shades and blinds after sunset. One item you may not be aware of is, wavelength, no we aren't talking about the length of the ocean waves here. They are talking about the output, the fixtures/bulbs must produce long wavelength light (560 nm or longer) without filters, gels or lenses. Amber and red LEDs are good examples of these types of light. Also keep in mind that even lights from cell phones can also disturb nesting and hatching sea turtles. If you visit the beach at night during nesting season, keep your cell phone safely stowed in your pocket or bag. Turtle Friendly Lighting Recognition Pilot Program The City Of Hollywood has launched a Turtle Friendly Lighting Recognition Pilot Program. The goal of the program is to increase awareness and compliance with the City’s turtle friendly lighting ordinance by way of recognition of those property owners who are certified compliant. Hollywood’s turtle friendly lighting ordinance (§108, O-2011-07) requires that exterior lights be mounted as low in elevation as possible, shielded so that the light source is not visible from the beach, directed down and away from the beach and have a low wattage amber or red bulb. To reduce or eliminate the visibility of interior light from the beach, tinted glass or film must be installed on north, east and south facing doors and windows on new developments. Existing buildings can install window and door tint, move light fixtures away from windows, close the blinds and curtains, and turn off all unnecessary lights. To receive recognition, a property must fully comply with the City’s turtle friendly lighting ordinance (§108, O-2011-07). The certification process can be found at: www.HollywoodFL.org/TurtleLighting Apply today to be recognized by clicking the online application at: www.HollywoodFL.org/TurtleLighting < Previous News Next News >
