  • Build Like A Woman: Join The Conversation With Kathleen Griffith At BOSS Aventura

Build Like A Woman: Join The Conversation With Kathleen Griffith At BOSS Aventura June 20, 2024 Share The BOSS Store in the Aventura mall invites you to join the conversation with Kathleen Griffith, the Author of Build Like A Woman. The conversation will shed light to the method designed to help women entrepreneurs adopt the mindset and skill sets they need to create a business and life they love. Guests will receive a brand new copy of the book during the event (while supplies last). Book Details From the Self-Made Businesswoman and Founder of the global platform Build Like A Woman comes the essential resource to unleash your business, take up space, and create your dream life. Kathleen Griffith is an Award-Winning Entrepreneur, Business Strategist, TV Producer, and leading voice in the women’s space. Her media company advises Fortune 100 brands on women-oriented content, strategy and experiences. Kathleen’s ultimate mission is to help women architect the business and life of their dreams. Build Like a Woman is her first book. In a world of hustle culture and burnout, women don’t want to lean in, they want to lie down. Now more than ever, women are looking to leave the corporate grind to break out into their own entrepreneurial ventures in a way that feeds their life rather than consumes it. But they don’t know exactly where to start. "I love that Kathleen starts with the basics and builds up like blocks. "To be a builder, is to claim authority and agency for your own life. It means having a bold vision and taking big swings." Well done, lots of great chapters." Chris S. "What an incredible book - There are not a lot of business self help type books written not only from a woman's perspective, but focused on women's business. This book is full of so many great statistics and advice that I will happily be purchasing a copy for all of my small business owning female friends. Really great and down to earth, cute antidotes and the kind of advice you would want to get from a lovely older aunt who takes no crap and runs her life well." Dusti F. Kathleen Griffith has been in these exact shoes. When she set out to launch her own business she found that the women’s business space was big on “go, girl” messages, but short on the gritty details of actually building a business. So she taught herself everything she could, learned from the best minds in business and coached with personal growth experts. She realized, shockingly, that all the “mindset” work paid the highest dividends of all in her business, and that through this process she had developed a proven method for success. Blending foundational mindset tenets with the practical, actionable, business-building skill sets, Build Like A Woman is for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs who want to start and scale a business AND life they love. From corporate dropouts to side hustlers to recent college grads to full-fledged founders. This is not a regular business book, but an unconventional blueprint for creation. It will shake up any belief that’s holding you back, remove any barriers standing in your way and unlock your full potential. Be part of the conversation on Saturday, June 22nd from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The BOSS Store located on the Upper Level near Nordstrom. RSVP to: Giannina_Guzman@hugoboss.com . < Previous News Next News >

  • T. Rex Roars Onto The Giant Screen: Extraordinary Documentary Captures Young Boys’ Discovery Of New Fossil Skeleton And Brings “Teen Rex” To Life

    T. Rex Roars Onto The Giant Screen: Extraordinary Documentary Captures Young Boys’ Discovery Of New Fossil Skeleton And Brings “Teen Rex” To Life July 18, 2024 Share Following the global announcement of the discovery of a rare juvenile T. Rex specimen by three young boys, the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) is pleased to announce the premiere of T. REX, the giant screen documentary that captured this incredible expedition on camera. This captivating science adventure and a love letter to T. Rex, the Greatest of All Tyrants - the GOAT - is now playing at the AutoNation® IMAX® 3D Theater. “We’re thrilled to present this adventurous film that illustrates how anyone at any age can discover the find of a lifetime and contribute to our ever-evolving life sciences history,” said Joseph P. Cox, President and CEO of MODS. “Since their discovery, dinosaurs have always captured our hearts, curiosity and imaginations and the commanding tyrant T. Rex towers above them all. We invite visitors of all ages to revel at this giant and her carnivorous Cretaceous cousins in one of the most dazzling and accurate T. Rex documentaries ever made, depicted in larger-than-life in IMAX glory.” Anchored by the true story of the young fossil hunters who made the discovery of a lifetime when they spotted a large, fossilized leg bone on a walk on public lands in North Dakota, T. REX intercuts the remarkable fossil dig, with cutting edge computer graphics that bring the iconic T. Rex - from hatchling to hulking adult - to life. Narrated by Jurassic Park Actor Sam Neill, T. REX explores the newest science that has helped reinvent our understanding of the iconic predator. With hat tips to famous specimens, landmark discoveries, and wild cinematic T. Rex depictions over the last century, the film also brings to life a cast of prehistoric characters including rex’s archrival, Triceratops; Quetzalcoatlus, one the largest animals ever to take flight; and the 25-foot long Sinraptor, a species that likely fed on early Tyrannosaurs. “We never could have planned the inspiring story that unfolded in front of the cameras,” said Producer and Writer Andy Wood. “Kids finding any large dinosaur is remarkable, but as the shoot progressed, the team realized that we were witnessing something even more rare—a truly historic T. Rex discovery. This is the kind of story that documentary filmmakers dream of capturing.” "This is more than just a documentary - it's a chance for families to experience the thrill of discovery through the eyes of these young explorers in a format that makes you feel like you’re right there with them,” says Co-Director/Writer David Clark. T. REX is an immersive cinema experience produced by Giant Screen Films and D3D Cinema, in partnership with the Field Museum, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Houston Museum of Natural Science and Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, in association with the Cincinnati Museum Center, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Museums Victoria, and New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. The T. Rex fossil featured in the film was collected on land under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, Permit#: ND2023-00084. The AutoNation® IMAX® Theater at the Museum of Discovery and Science is located at 401 Southwest 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312. T. REX is included in the MODS Discovery Pass, an all-in-one ticket that includes Museum exhibitions, live science demonstrations and one IMAX documentary film. • Invitation From The Consul General Of Israel In Miami To Go On A Mission To Israel With European And North American Mayors - Part II | sun-times

Invitation From The Consul General Of Israel In Miami To Go On A Mission To Israel With European And North American Mayors - Part II By Hallandale Beach Mayor, Joy Cooper Jul 16, 2026 This Article Is Part II Of A Series On My Recent Visit To Israel. After leaving the Ramat Gan emergency operation center we walked to a location that was directly hit by cluster bombs. They were one of the hardest hit by these types of bombs. The warhead actually opens in the air sending anywhere from 100 - 2000 smaller bomblets. The Germans designed them in WWII, and they are banned in over 111 countries. The ban is due to the fact they cover areas as large as football fields and weather conditions may expand the area. Often the Bomblets do not detonate creating additional hazards to small children that may pick them up. The bomblets still have armor piercing capabilities. The area where this bomb struck was residential. The building that took the direct hit stood across from a school, which was damaged and is now a grassy lot. The blast blew out windows around the building and could be felt within a five-block radius. Thankfully, it happened at 6:30 a.m., before school children arrived. Many people were injured. Another bomb struck the top floor of a building where a couple was sitting in the living room. I know where all have been seeing reports on TV, but you cannot understand the magnitude of what one bomb can do. It is also against so many laws that Iran is using this weapon against civilians carrying on their daily lives. The Deputy shared that rebuilding has been essential since many structures are not to any current standard. There were many high-rise condominiums that had been built and the one hit was fairly new. The other major concern is housing those that are displaced. The town, actually, with state funding assistance housed many residents in a tower that was originally getting ready to open since it was not occupied yet. Others are out in hotels. The city’s major goal is to have full access to bomb shelters for their residents. Currently when they are rebuilding it is mandatory to have a safe room or dedicated shelter area. Civic buildings are also built with larger shelters and even the new train station has been built as a multipurpose and outfitted for sheltering those that are unable to get shelter during the workday or simply out in the town. They have also found it is not simply about the safety of the shelters but the operations. While in the shelter. Mental health is a huge issue for all ages. The shelters are planned with different areas that are either separate rooms or simply an area for scheduled activities for children. The ceasefire is in place, and the city continues to move forward with many planning objectives. We were all amazed by the resiliency of the community. • New Community Court Launched In The City Of Hollywood

New Community Court Launched In The City Of Hollywood April 25, 2024 Share Broward County’s newest Community Court has officially launched at The Caring Place - Broward Outreach Center in Hollywood. The 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, in partnership with the City of Hollywood, spearheaded a community court location in the City to address Low-Level First Time and Repeat Misdemeanor and Municipal Ordinance Offenders. “This is the third community court now operating in Broward County,” says Chief Judge Jack Tuter. “The Court wishes to thank Mayor Levy and the Hollywood City Commission for their assistance in getting the Court off the ground.” Community Court participants will be held accountable for their conduct, via community service, while also receiving access to one-on-one assistance and referrals to available resources, therapies, and opportunities to help them. “When you are out on the street it’s hard to know what services are available to you, let alone how to gain access,” says Judge Corey Cawthon. “So, when individuals come here, they really are appreciative of the help they receive.” Community Court is a collaborative effort between the 17th Circuit, the City of Hollywood, Broward County, Broward County Clerk of Courts, the Law Office of the Public Defender, the Public Defender assigned to Hollywood, the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, Broward County Sheriff, and several service and treatment providers, including Henderson Behavioral Health, The Caring Place-Broward Outreach Center, TaskForce For Ending Homelessness, Memorial Healthcare System and James Club Recovery. “Community Court will play an important role in the City’s efforts to connect people experiencing homelessness with the services they need, while addressing the underlying issues,” says Ryon Coote, the Community Development Division Manager for the City of Hollywood. “I am grateful for the partnership that our Judicial Circuit has formed with us,” says Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy. “The Community Court will hold individuals accountable, but also will provide them with an opportunity to access the help they need to break the cycle and move forward to recovery and life off the street.” The initiative was funded by a 4-year, $532,305 Grant that was pursued and secured from the Community Courts Initiative of the U.S. Department of Justice, and would not be possible without the steadfast commitment of Broward Chief Judge Tuter, Judge Barner, Judge Cawthorn and the Hollywood Police Department to see it through. Since its inaugural session in January, the Community Court has already connected 73 people with the agencies that can help them. Each person’s progress is supervised by a case manager, who also oversees community service hour requirements. Ultimately, a graduation ceremony is held to provide the graduate with a deserving sense of accomplishment for their recovery. Hearings of the Community Court are held every Tuesday afternoon at The Caring Place’s Broward Outreach Center on Scott Street. “The Court thanks Judges Corey Cawthon, and Florence Barner for their service in getting this Court operational,” says Chief Judge Tuter. Community Court will be held every other Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Caring Place - Broward Outreach Center located at 2056 Scott Street, Hollywood, Florida 33020.
