‘Who Gets Your Passwords?’ - Most Older Adults Have Planned Their Estates. Few Have Planned Their Digital Estates Jewish Connection News Jul 29, 2026 Millions Of Americans Have Prepared Wills, Named Beneficiaries, And Organized Their Financial Records, But Many Have Overlooked A Critical Question: What Happens To Their Email Accounts, Online Banking, Digital Photos, Passwords, And Other Digital Assets When They Die? TheSeniorTechie Founder Paul Wilczynski Addresses That Growing Problem In His New Book, “Who Gets Your Passwords? TheSeniorTechie Guide To Digital Estate Planning” (ISBN:‎ 979-8995501725), Now Available On Amazon. As more of daily life moves online, family members are increasingly finding themselves unable to access important accounts, documents, photographs, and records after the death of a loved one. “Many people have spent years preparing traditional estate documents,” said Wilczynski. “But they haven’t prepared their digital estate. Families often discover too late that they don’t know where important information is stored, what accounts exist, or how to access them.” A digital estate includes far more than Social Media accounts. It can include email, online banking, cloud storage, digital photographs, smartphones, subscription services, shopping accounts, websites, loyalty programs, and other online assets accumulated over a lifetime. The book is intended not only for individuals and families but also as a practical resource that can support conversations between clients and the professionals who help them prepare wills, trusts, and estate plans. Wilczynski believes digital estate planning should become a routine part of the broader estate planning process. Written specifically for non-technical readers, the guide focuses on simple, practical steps for identifying digital assets, organizing account information, protecting privacy, preserving family memories, and creating clear instructions for loved ones. “We spend a lifetime creating digital assets without thinking of them as assets,” said Wilczynski. “Taking a little time to organize that information today can save loved ones a great deal of frustration tomorrow.” The issue affects people of all ages but may be particularly important for older adults who have accumulated decades of records, photographs, correspondence, and online accounts. “At its heart, digital estate planning isn’t really about passwords,” Wilczynski said. “It’s about making life easier for the people you care about.” “Who Gets Your Passwords? TheSeniorTechie Guide To Digital Estate Planning” is available in paperback and ebook formats through Amazon at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H7N336SQ . • Yoga In The Park: There Are Many Benefits You Can Enjoy

Yoga In The Park: There Are Many Benefits You Can Enjoy May 15, 2024 Share The City of Aventura offers a series of Complimentary Yoga Classes at Veterans Park for all Yogis of all skill levels to enjoy. Held outdoors in the City’s beautiful Veterans Park, these classes offer the perfect atmosphere to relax, breathe and stretch together with the help of a certified instructor. The duration of the class is approximately one hour. Classes are scheduled every Friday at Veterans Park at 9:00 a.m. Students must bring their own Yoga mats, a small towel and water for convenience. Please plan to be in class for approximately one hour. Yoga's gentle movements are a big reason for why it’s so popular. Yoga is good for people who haven't been active in a while. It’s good for people who have certain health conditions like Arthritis or Osteoporosis. You can change the exercises to fit your needs. But Yoga is also great if you're already fit and want a challenging workout. As you become more strong and flexible with Yoga, it's easier to do other kinds of exercise like Dancing, Walking, or Swimming. According to John Hopkins Medicine there are many benefits of Yoga: 1. Yoga improves strength, balance and flexibility. Slow movements and deep breathing increase blood flow and warm up muscles, while holding a pose can build strength. Try it: Tree Pose Balance on one foot, while holding the other foot to your calf or above the knee (but never on the knee) at a right angle. Try to focus on one spot in front of you, while you balance for one minute. 2. Yoga helps with back pain relief. Yoga is as good as basic stretching for easing pain and improving mobility in people with lower back pain. The American College of Physicians recommends Yoga as a first-line treatment for chronic low back pain. Try it: Cat-Cow Pose Get on all fours, placing your palms underneath your shoulders and your knees underneath your hips. First, inhale, as you let your stomach drop down toward the floor. Then, exhale, as you draw your navel toward your spine, arching your spine like a cat stretching. 3. Yoga can ease Arthritis symptoms. Gentle Yoga has been shown to ease some of the discomfort of tender, swollen Joints for people with Arthritis, according to a Johns Hopkins review of 11 recent studies. 4. Yoga benefits Heart Health. Regular Yoga practice may reduce levels of stress and body-wide inflammation, contributing to healthier hearts. Several of the factors contributing to Heart Disease, including High Blood Pressure and excess weight, can also be addressed through Yoga. Try it: Downward Dog Pose Get on all fours, then tuck your toes under and bring your sitting bones up, so that you make a triangle shape. Keep a slight bend in your knees, while lengthening your spine and tailbone. 5. Yoga relaxes you, to help you sleep better. Research shows that a consistent bedtime Yoga routine can help you get in the right mindset and prepare your body to fall asleep and stay asleep. Try It: Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose Sit with your left side against a wall, then gently turn right and lift your legs up to rest against the wall, keeping your back on the floor and your sitting bones close to the wall. You can remain in this position for 5 to 15 minutes. 6. Yoga can mean more energy and brighter moods. You may feel increased mental and physical energy, a boost in alertness and enthusiasm, and fewer negative feelings after getting into a routine of practicing Yoga. 7. Yoga helps you manage Stress. According to the National Institutes of Health, scientific evidence shows that Yoga supports Stress Management, Mental Health, mindfulness, healthy eating, Weight Loss and quality sleep. Try It: Corpse Pose (Savasana) Lie down with your limbs gently stretched out, away from the body, with your palms facing up. Try to clear your mind while breathing deeply. You can hold this pose for 5 to 15 minutes. 8. Yoga connects you with a supportive community. Participating in Yoga Classes can ease loneliness and provide an environment for group healing and support. Even during one-on-one sessions loneliness is reduced as one is acknowledged as a unique individual, being listened to and participating in the creation of a personalized Yoga plan. • Avoid Mortgage Loan Modification Scams

Avoid Mortgage Loan Modification Scams By Consumer Financial Protection Bureau March 17, 2022 Share Millions of homeowners struggled to make their mortgage payments during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it’s important for all homeowners to know about mortgage loan modification scams and how to avoid them. Mortgage loan modification scams are schemes to take your money – often by making a false promise of saving you from foreclosure. These so-called foreclosure or mortgage consultants often use public notices or lists of distressed borrowers purchased from private companies to find their targets. They may offer to "prevent" foreclosures or "rescue" desperate homeowners from foreclosure through advertising, email, phone calls or in person. Examples of scams related to mortgage modification and foreclosure prevention include, among others: Foreclosure rescue and refinance fraud. Scam artists offer to act as intermediaries between homeowners and lenders to negotiate repayment plans or loan modifications. They may even "guarantee" to save your home from foreclosure. They tell you to make mortgage payments directly to them so they can forward payments to your lender. Instead, they may pocket your money and leave you in worse shape on your loan. Fake "government" modification programs. Scam artists create websites that mimic federal websites and use business names like those used by government agencies. They may use "federal," "TARP" or other words, acronyms and abbreviations associated with official government programs. These tactics are designed to fool you into thinking they are approved by, or affiliated with, the federal government. Leaseback and rent-to-buy schemes. Con artists entice you to transfer your home title to them with promises of new and better financing. They say you can rent your home and eventually buy it back. But, if you do not comply with the terms of the rent-to-buy agreement, you can lose your money and your home. Scammers have no intention of selling your home back to you; they want your home and money. Scammers may: • Ask you to pay fees upfront to receive services • Promise to get you a loan modification • Ask you to sign over the title to your property • Ask you to sign papers that you do not understand • Say you should start making payments to someone other than your servicer or lender • Tell you to stop making mortgage loan payments altogether If you believe you have been contacted by a scammer or if you have been the victim of a mortgage scam, report the scam to the Federal Trade Commission ( https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/ ) or call the Florida State Attorney General Fraud Hotline 1-866-966-7226. Stop paying the scammer. If you can’t pay your mortgage or are worried about missing a mortgage payment, you have options. The first thing to do is call your mortgage servicer. Learn the steps to take, relief options, and places to go to get help with your mortgage. If you need more help, reach out to HUD-Approved Housing Counselors. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-approved housing counselors https://www.consumerfinance.gov/find-a-housing-counselor/ can discuss options with you if you’re having trouble paying your mortgage loan or reverse mortgage loan. This may also include forbearance or a modified payment program. If you think you may have been a victim of a mortgage loan modification scam, you may also want to consult an attorney. < Previous News Next News >
