Summer Arts Camp: Sharpen Your Skills And Showcase Your Talents
March 30, 2023
The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood’s popular Summer Arts Camp returns from Monday, June 12th, 2023 through Friday, August 11th, 2023 offering kids ages 5-16 of all skill levels an intensive experience in our visual and performing arts programs. Each of our three camp programs ends with a performance or an exhibition of artwork, allowing children to showcase the skills they learn with their peers from our professional arts educators.
For our younger artists, the Center offers two-week half-or full-day sessions in the visual and performing arts with Artistic Adventurers and Young Artists + Young Actors. Artistic Adventurers introduces ages 5-7 to the wide world of art through music, movement, artmaking and group games. Young Artists + Young Actors for ages 8-10 grows skills and engagement in visual and performing arts with distinct morning and afternoon sessions.
Artistic Adventurers and Young Artists + Young Actors Camps are offered in four two-week sessions from Monday, June 19th, 2023 through Friday, August 11th, 2023. Each session follows a particular theme and culminates in a sharing opportunity for friends and family. Enrollment Fees are $450 for Members | $475 for Non-Members for full-day enrollment; half-day sessions for either the visual or performing arts is $350 for Members | $375 for Non-Members.
Broadway Actors puts campers 9-16 center stage in two four-week camps devoted to staging a full-length musical production in our 500-seat theater. Campers experience the entire process from audition to curtain bow while gaining the skills to perform before a live audience of family and friends. Our 2023 Broadway Actors camp offers two exciting plays to choose from. Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. begins Friday, June 12th, 2023 and concludes with performances on Friday, July 7th, 2023 - Saturday, July 8th, 2023. The Addams Family Young Part begins Monday, July 17th, 2023 and closes with shows on Friday, August 11th, 2023 - Saturday, August 12th, 2023. Enrollment for each Broadway Actors camp session is $825 for Members, $875 for Non-Members.
The Center’s arts education programs for children and teens inspire creativity; strengthen the family bond and grow awareness of the arts as an essential resource in a child’s social development and academic success. Research shows that children who participate regularly in the arts improve their attention span, learn more quickly, develop higher level critical thinking skills and build resiliency.
A limited number of partial reduced-tuition scholarships are available through our Arts Outreach Program for qualifying families. Please reach out to the Education Department for details and to apply at: Education@artandculturecenter.org. All scholarships are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis for qualified families.
