The City of Hollywood's Strategic Plan outlines a bold vision "to be a thriving City true to its founding principles of Economic Opportunity, Diversity, and Innovation." As a significant municipal government in South Florida, the City Commission and Administration acknowledge the ambition of this vision and are committed to achieving it. The purpose and mission of this Strategic Plan are to create “a resilient and sustainable City that nurtures quality living and fosters a healthy environment where everyone can prosper.”

The Strategic Plan is a comprehensive guide for the City's future, providing direction and laying the foundation for municipal activities. Its primary aim is to align all relevant initiatives with the City's Mission and Vision, ensuring that leadership can make informed decisions while managing resources effectively. Recognizing the importance of customer satisfaction, Hollywood’s leadership has adopted a strategic planning approach to meet the City's needs. This approach integrates budgeting with a performance measurement process, ensuring that the City’s actions are aligned with its goals. The confidence in this plan's direction comes after several months of careful planning, culminating in the City Commission's approval of the Citywide Strategic Plan on July 3rd, 2024.

Additionally, the City is updating its comprehensive plan which will guide growth and development through 2050. This plan will address new trends and challenges, set strategic goals in key areas, and ensure compliance with evolving State Laws.
