City Of Hollywood Noise Ordinance And Vacation Rental Policies

December 30, 2021

With Hollywood welcoming many visitors in town for the New Year, now is a great time to share a reminder about the City’s Noise Ordinance and Vacation Rental Policies. In an effort to improve quality of life for Hollywood’s residents and businesses, enforcement began in the spring for the new Noise Ordinance Rules. Below is a review of the requirements:

No person shall on any public street or sidewalk, park, beach or other public property, or in any motor vehicle located on any public street or property, use, operate or play any radio, phonograph, stereo set, tape or CD player, television, sound amplifier, musical instrument, or other device which produces or reproduces sound, at a level which interferes with a person’s peaceful enjoyment or the peace and tranquility of the surrounding area at a distance more than 30 feet from the sound source.

A Noise Level Detection Device is required for nonresidential establishments throughout Hollywood. Any nonresidential establishment from which amplified musical entertainment, whether live or recorded, emanates has to be equipped with a noise level detection device alerting the occupants of the property to the noise.
