Set it aside. Remove the Pork from the packaging and pat it dry with a paper towel. Season all of the sides with the Salt and the Pepper, to taste. To make the Glaze: In a bowl, whisk the Apple Cider Vinegar Glaze, the Mustard, the Balsamic Vinegar, the Rosemary, the Sage, the Thyme and the Garlic. Add the Salt and the Pepper, to taste. In a steady stream, slowly add the Olive Oil to emulsify while whisking. In a large skillet, heat the Oil over Medium-High Heat. Sear the Pork Loin for 2-3 minutes on each side. Move the Pork to a lined baking sheet and brush on about half of the Glaze. Roast for 30 minutes. Remove the Pork from the oven and spread the Sliced Apples around the Pork Loin. Brush the remaining Glaze over the Pork and the Apples. Bake them for 20-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 150 F. Let the Pork Loin rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing it. Stuffing-Filled Pork Chops Prep time: 10-15 minutes Cook time: 30-45 minutes Servings: 6 Stuffing: 1 Small Box of Biscuit Mix 1 Stick of Butter 2-3 Stalks of finely diced Celery 1 Finely diced Onion 1 Teaspoon of Poultry Seasoning 1-2 Cups of Chicken Broth 1 Bag of Cornbread Stuffing Mix 2 Eggs, beaten Salt, to taste Pepper, to taste 6 Coleman Natural Bone-In or Boneless Pork Chops Oil 1 Teaspoon of Minced Garlic 1 Teaspoon of Minced Sage 1 Teaspoon of Minced Thyme 1 Teaspoon of Minced Rosemary To make the Stuffing: Bake the Biscuits according to the package’s directions, 1 day ahead. Dry biscuits will absorb more broth. Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a skillet, melt the Butter then add the Celery and the Onions. Sauté them until the Onions are translucent, then add the Poultry Seasoning and half of the Broth. Set it aside to cool. In a bowl, combine the Stuffing Mix, the Crumbled Biscuits and the Eggs. Add the Onion mix to the bowl and mix it well. Add the leftover Broth if the mixture is too dry and set it aside. Slit each Chop on the rounded side, cutting almost through to the bone, to create deep pockets for the Stuffing. Season the Chops with the Garlic, the Sage, the Thyme and the Rosemary. Fill each Chop with the Stuffing Mixture. Use toothpicks to keep the Chops closed. Preheat the skillet with the Oil over Medium-High Heat and sear each Chop for 2-3 minutes on each side. Once the Chops are seared, add the remaining Stuffing to the pan, cover it with the foil and bake it for 30-45 minutes until the Chops reach 140 F in the center. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to brown the top of the Stuffing, if desired. < Previous News Next News >

- Hollywood Native: Serves Aboard USS Essex
Hollywood Native: Serves Aboard USS Essex By Stephanie Fox, Navy Office of Community Outreach January 27, 2022 Share A Hollywood, Florida, native is serving aboard USS Essex, a U.S. Navy Wasp class amphibious assault ship. Airman Malyck Strachan serves as an aviation boatswain’s mate (fuel). Aviation boatswain's mate (fuel) sailors are responsible for preparing and fueling Navy planes prior to launch and after landing, as well as pumping fuel to all areas of the ship. “I enjoy the challenge of being an aviation boatswain’s mate (fuel),” said Strachan. “Jumping into the aviation boatswain’s mate (fuel) lifestyle right after leaving bootcamp can be overwhelming at first and the stress of the job can be intimidating, but over time it becomes a breeze.” Strachan joined the Navy to serve the country. “I initially joined the Navy for the benefits the military has to offer,” said Strachan. “As time went on, however, I realized I could gain so much more. I realized that I had gained a second family, I had gained maturity and I had gained discipline.” According to Strachan, the values required to succeed in the military are similar to those found in Hollywood. "A phrase that helped me during tough times is, ‘If they can do it then so can you,’" said Strachan. “When all of your peers seem to be doing things that you think would be impossible for you to accomplish, think about that phrase and believe in yourself.” Homeported in San Diego, California, USS Essex is the second ship in the Wasp-class of multipurpose amphibious assault ships and the fifth ship named for Essex County, Massachusetts. Essex was a 1000-ton ironclad river gunboat of the U.S. Army and later U.S. Navy during the American Civil War. According to Navy officials, amphibious assault ships are designed to deliver U.S. Marines and their equipment where they are needed to support a variety of missions ranging from amphibious assaults to humanitarian relief efforts. Designed to be versatile, the ship has the option of simultaneously using helicopters, Harrier jets, and Landing Craft Air Cushioned, as well as conventional landing craft and assault vehicles in various combinations. Serving in the Navy means Strachan is part of a team that is taking on new importance in America’s focus on rebuilding military readiness, strengthening alliances and reforming business practices in support of the National Defense Strategy. “The Navy contributes to national defense by intimidating those who do harm to the innocent,” said Strachan. “We show them that we are not ones to stand by idly in the face of injustice. Wherever the fight is, expect the Navy to be there.” There are many opportunities for sailors to earn recognition in their command, community and careers while serving in the Navy. "My proudest Navy accomplishment so far is completing a full deployment in my first year as an active duty sailor," said Strachan. “I look forward to many more deployments and much greater accomplishments in the future.” As a member of the U.S. Navy, Strachan, as well as other sailors, know they are a part of a service tradition providing unforgettable experiences through leadership development, world affairs and humanitarian assistance. Their efforts will have a lasting effect around the globe and for generations of sailors who will follow. "To me, serving in the Navy means that I have overcome hardships that life has thrown at me and that I can continue to do so," added Strachan. “As long as I believe and trust in myself and my Navy family, we can do anything.” < Previous News Next News >

- Get Up & Get Dancing: The City of Aventura Offers An Opportunity For Better Health
Get Up & Get Dancing: The City of Aventura Offers An Opportunity For Better Health March 18, 2022 Share The City will be offering complimentary Zumba classes to Aventura residents of all ages starting in March and running every Thursday. The new Zumba program will include a certified Zumba instructor teaching this fun fitness class involving aerobic movement and Latin dance. Participants should be ready to bring a positive mood, have fun and bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. Cost: FREE When: Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Where: Founders Park 3105 NE 190 St. Benefits of Zumba Designed as a combination of salsa and aerobics, there’s no right or wrong way to do Zumba. As long as you move to the beat of the music, you’re participating in the exercise. And since Zumba involves movement of the entire body — from your arms to your shoulders and to your feet — you’ll get a full-body workout that doesn’t feel like work. A small study found that a standard, 39-minute Zumba class burned an average of 9.5 calories per minute. This adds up to 369 calories in total throughout the class. The American Council on Exercise recommends that individuals burn 300 calories per workout in order to promote weight loss and maintain a healthy bodyweight. Zumba fits their criteria perfectly. Evidence also shows that a 12-week Zumba program can provide significant improvements in aerobic fitness. Also, since music played during a Zumba class is relatively fast-paced, moving to the beat can help build your endurance after just a few workouts. You may not realize this but while doing Zumba, your mind and body work quite hard to make sure your movements follow the fast beats of the music and that your steps are aligned with others who are also dancing around you. Regular practice of Zumba boosts your mind-body coordination. Zumba is fast, intense, and rigorous. And Zumba is fun also. This is one of the main reasons why people who practice Zumba keep going back to it. They look forward to attending the class so they can dance away to the music along with their friends and family. Zumba also presents you with opportunities to socialize and make new friends. Registration Aventura residents of all ages welcome, registration is open and spots are limited. All participants must be registered prior to attending. Registration can be completed exclusively online only with a valid and existing account at cityofaventura.com/ors. For more information, visit cityofaventura.com or contact Founders Park at 305-466-0183 or parksrec@cityofaventura.com . - Non-Waterfront Bay Point Sale Breaks Price Per Square Foot Record, Challenges Traditional Pricing Model | sun-times
Non-Waterfront Bay Point Sale Breaks Price Per Square Foot Record, Challenges Traditional Pricing Model South Florida Sun Times May 7, 2026 Casa Luna, Located At 575 Hibiscus Lane In Miami, Has Sold For $9.6 Million, Setting A Record In Price Per Square Foot For A Non-Waterfront Home In The Bay Point Community At Approximately $2,433 Per Square Foot. The Transaction Signals A Notable Shift In Miami’s Luxury Market, Where Non-Waterfront Properties In Prime Gated Enclaves Are Beginning To Achieve Pricing Levels Historically Reserved For Premier Waterfront Homes And Highly Sought-After Communities Such As Sunset Islands In Miami Beach. The property is expected to be repositioned or remodeled to align with today’s luxury standards — a strategic sale led by Ana Teresa Rodriguez, Founder and CEO of ATR Luxury Homes Group at Coldwell Banker Realty, alongside Claudia Aros, the property’s owner and co-listing agent. Originally acquired by the seller for approximately $2.7 Million in 2018, the property has since appreciated significantly over an eight-year period, reflecting both the broader growth of Miami’s luxury market and the increasing recognition of Bay Point as a uniquely positioned enclave. A private guard-gated community adjacent to the Design District and in close proximity to Miami Shores, Bay Point is also near premier private schools including The Cushman School, Centner Academy, and Miami Country Day, factors that continue to attract a new wave of residents seeking privacy, location, and long-term value. Historically, non-waterfront homes in Bay Point have traded at a discount compared to waterfront properties, with prior sales averaging closer to $1,800 per square foot. This transaction narrows that gap, signaling a shift in how inland properties are being valued within the community. At approximately $2,433 per square foot, the sale places the property alongside top-tier transactions in enclaves such as Sunset Islands, positioning Bay Point as one of Miami’s most competitive luxury markets. Located within Bay Point, one of Miami’s most exclusive private guard-gated communities, the transaction further reinforces the area’s positioning among the city’s most competitive luxury enclaves. “This record sale reflects a clear understanding of where Miami’s luxury market is heading. Today’s buyers are placing a premium on location, privacy, and long-term value, and when a property is positioned correctly, it can achieve results at the highest level,” said Rodriguez. The closing of Casa Luna reflects continued momentum for ATR Luxury Homes Group in 2026, as demand for well-positioned properties across South Florida’s luxury market remains strong.
