Hollywood Homeowners Looking To Freshen Up Their Home’s Exterior Can Pick Up Free Recycled Paint During The City’s Next Operation Paintbrush Event On Saturday, September 26th, 2026. Through Operation Paintbrush, Eligible Single-Family Homeowners Can Receive Up To Two Five-Gallon Buckets Of High-Quality Exterior Latex Paint At No Cost. Paint Will Be Distributed From 8:00 a.m. To Noon At The Department Of Public Works, 1600 South Park Road, Hollywood, Florida 33021, On A First-Come, First-Served Basis While Supplies Last. Available Colors Typically Include Off-White, Beige, Grey, Terracotta And Turquoise, Although Colors May Vary Depending On Supply.
To participate, residents must provide a current Driver’s License or Identification Card showing a Hollywood address, along with a current Utility Bill, Lease Agreement or Mortgage Documentation as proof of Hollywood residency.
Operation Paintbrush is also a great example of recycling coming full circle. The paint distributed through the program comes from the Broward County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program. Latex paint dropped off by Broward County residents is recycled into new exterior paint and made available at no cost to participating municipalities, residents and nonprofit organizations. The program relies entirely on paint donated for recycling.
Hollywood residents can help keep the program going by properly recycling unwanted paint. Old paint can be dropped off at the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off facility, 5601 West Hallandale Beach Boulevard, West Park, Florida 33023 every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Proof of Hollywood residency is required.
