The Danger Is Real - The Plot To Destabilize The Nation Is Working By John & Nisha Whitehead October 31, 2024 Share If the three-ring circus that is the looming presidential election proves anything, it is that the Deep State’s plot to destabilize the nation is working. The danger is real. Caught up in the heavily dramatized electoral showdown between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, Americans have become oblivious to the multitude of ways in which the government is goose stepping all over our freedoms on a daily basis. Especially alarming is the extent to which those on both sides are allowing themselves to be gaslighted by both Trump and Harris about critical issues of the day, selectively choosing to hear only what they want to hear when it casts the opposition in a negative light. This is true whether you’re talking about Immigration and Border Control, Health Care, National Security, the nation’s endless wars, protections for FREE Speech, or the militarization of the U.S. Government. For starters, there’s the FREE Speech double standard, what my good friend Nat Hentoff used to refer to as the “FREE Speech for me but not for thee” phenomenon in which the First Amendment’s protections only apply to those with whom we might agree. Despite her claims to being a champion for the rule of law, which in our case is the U.S. Constitution, Harris isn’t averse to policing so-called “hate” speech. In this, Harris is not unlike those on both the Right and the Left who continue to express a distaste for unregulated, FREE Speech online, especially when it comes to speech with which they might disagree. Then there’s Trump, never a fan of FREE Speech protections for his critics, who has been particularly vocal about his desire to see the military vanquish “radical left lunatics,” which he has dubbed “the enemy from within.” If it were only about muzzling FREE Speech activities, that would be concerning enough. But Trump’s enthusiasm for using the military to target domestic enemies of the state should send off warning bells, especially coinciding as it does with the Department of Defense’s recent re-issuance of Directive 5240.01, which empowers the military to assist law enforcement “in situations where a confrontation between civilian law enforcement and civilian individuals or groups is reasonably anticipated.” This is what martial law looks like—a government of force that relies on the military to enforce its authority—and it’s exactly what America’s founders feared, which is why they opted for a republic bound by the rule of law: the U.S. Constitution. Responding to concerns that the military would be used for domestic policing, Congress passed the Posse Comitatus Act in 1878, which makes it a crime for the government to use the military to carry out arrests, searches, seizure of evidence and other activities normally handled by a civilian police force. The increasing militarization of the police, the use of sophisticated weaponry against Americans and the government’s increasing tendency to employ military personnel domestically have all but eviscerated historic prohibitions such as the Posse Comitatus Act. Yet sometime over the course of the past 240-plus years that constitutional republic has been transformed into a military dictatorship disguised as a democracy. Unfortunately, most Americans seem relatively untroubled by the fact that our constitutional republic is being transformed into a military dictatorship disguised as a democracy. The seeds of chaos that have been sown in recent years are all part of the Deep State’s plans to usher in martial law. Just take a look at “Megacities: Urban Future, the Emerging Complexity,” a Pentagon training video created by the Army for U.S. Special Operations Command. The training video is only five minutes long, but it says a lot about the government’s mindset, the way it views the citizenry, and the so-called “problems” that the government must be prepared to address in the near future through the use of martial law. Even more troubling, however, is what this military video doesn’t say about the Constitution, about the rights of the citizenry, and about the dangers of locking down the nation and using the military to address political and social problems. The training video anticipates that all hell will break loose by 2030, but the future is here ahead of schedule. We’re already witnessing a breakdown of society on virtually every front. The danger signs are screaming out a message. The government is anticipating trouble (read: civil unrest), which is code for anything that challenges the government’s authority, wealth and power. According to the Pentagon, the training video created by the Army for the U.S. Special Operations Command, the U.S. government is grooming its armed forces to solve future domestic political and social problems. What they’re really talking about is martial law, packaged as a well-meaning and overriding concern for the nation’s security. The chilling five-minute training video, obtained by The Intercept through a FOIA request and made available online, paints an ominous picture of the future — a future the military is preparing for — bedeviled by “criminal networks,” “substandard Infrastructure,” “religious and ethnic tensions,” “impoverishment, slums,” “open landfills, overburdened sewers,” a “growing mass of unemployed,” and an urban landscape in which the prosperous economic elite must be protected from the impoverishment of the have nots. And then comes the kicker. Three-and-a-half minutes into the Pentagon’s dystopian training video, the ominous voice of the narrator speaks of a need to “drain the swamps.” Now the government has adopted its own plans for swamp-draining, only it wants to use the military to drain the swamps of futuristic urban American cities of “noncombatants and engage the remaining adversaries in high intensity conflict within.” And who are these noncombatants, a military term that refers to civilians who are not engaged in fighting? They are, according to the Pentagon, “adversaries.” They are “threats.” They are the “enemy.” They are people who don’t support the government. Mind you, by “government,” I’m not referring to the highly partisan, two-party bureaucracy of the Republicans and Democrats. I’m referring to “government” with a capital “G,” the entrenched Deep State that is unaffected by elections, unaltered by populist movements, and has set itself beyond the reach of the law. Be warned: in the future envisioned by the government, we will not be viewed as Republicans or Democrats. Rather, “we the people” will be enemies of the state. As I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People and in its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, we’re already enemies of the state. It’s time to wake up and stop being deceived by Deep State propaganda. • A Look At History And Challenges: Global Athletes Unite At The 2023 Maccabi Games

A Look At History And Challenges: Global Athletes Unite At The 2023 Maccabi Games August 10, 2023 Share This past Saturday and Sunday Jewish athletes between the ages of 13 and 18 from around the country and globe came to South Florida to participate in the 2023 Maccabi Games. The event participants are part of the global network of Jewish Community Centers, JCC's. As with any event of this magnitude it truly takes the village. The last time the Maccabi Games were here in South Florida was well over 5 years ago. Many cities including ours passed resolutions welcoming many of the athletes. I am not certain of the exact number, but some are staying right here in Hallandale Beach with host families. On Monday night they held the grand opening ceremony for the Juniors and the lighting of the torch in Sunrise, Florida at the FLA Live Stadium formerly known as the BB&T Center. I had an opportunity to represent Hallandale Beach along with many of my fellow mayors, Broward County Commission, State Representatives and Congress Members were at the event. The significance of the games is far greater than simply our young Jewish athletes coming together and participating in many sports. They actually represent a rich history that began back in 1932 and then became a grade or symbol of Jewish strength and resiliency. I thought the games were simply tied to the history of the Jews who successfully organized a rebellion against a Palestinian ruler who defiled the Temple of Jerusalem. The Maccabi name was given in honor of the family and their son who actually led the rebellion. The word Maccabi in Hebrew may be read as hammer or extinguisher. So, to me I figured it was synonymous with games. Originally there was opposition to the games which began in 1932. Even with this opposition they built a stadium in Tel Aviv and over 18 countries participated. After the games which were supposed to take place every three years in 1935 there was greater opposition from the British government who actually ruled over the territory. Even with this opposition athletes still stood strong, and 28 nations participated. In 1938, the games were postponed until 1950. This was due to obvious reasons of upheaval and British Control over the government. There were concerns over illegal migration and then obviously World War II and in 1948 the Arab Israeli war. It was not until 1953 that the games began to take place every four years until 2021 due to COVID-19. In 2022 after COVID-19, they held one of the largest Maccabi Games which was actually attended by President Joe Biden. He was the first President to attend the Games. Maccabi Games also actually mark a tragic point in Olympic history. They now do ceremonies in honor and memory of the athletes that were killed at the Munich Games in 1972. 11 Israeli Olympians were held as hostages and then later killed at the airport by PLO Terrorists. There is an interesting fact about the Olympics and the acknowledgement of the tragedy. The Olympic Committee took years to acknowledge this tragedy and finally 2016 does a moment of silence at the Olympics to honor these athletes and coaches. The athletes will be here in Florida over the week competing in many sports. There's Soccer, Hockey, Tennis, Baseball, you name it, the athletes come from around the globe including Africa, Ukraine, Canada and many states. They also have their form of Special Olympics which is called access. If you want you can find out more by visiting their website or downloading their app and going to see all of the games. For a year many of our residents have been following Legislation that addresses Derelict Vessels and Vessels moored in open water. North Lake and South Lake in Hollywood have always had boats moored but due to COVID-19, there was an abundance of boats and people staying on boats in this open water. Many of the boats were actually pumping their bilges and contaminating the waterway. Many also created access issues for other boats to navigate. Hollywood went to the State Legislators and actually started a Pilot Program to Regulate these types of mooring. The Laws Regulating boat mooring date back centuries ago as far back as the 1600’s but since the Revolutionary War in the late 1700’s, The United States Government established our set of laws. Admiralty Law governs ports and waterways owned by the government. While each individual state has control over establishing these laws the U.S. Coast Guard actually enforces them. Most of them are still in place today. Hallandale Beach over the years has also had Vessels moored in Golden Isles Lake. We do have Rules and Regulations regarding boating, and we actually have a marine patrol however we cannot prevent boats from mooring the open lake. Recently a boat broke free and actually ended up at the docks at one of the condominiums. Our Police Department was notified, and they have been working diligently contacting the owner and getting the owner to move the boat. Obviously, the residents were quite alarmed and due to the Admiralty Laws there is a time of 90 days for the ability for us to remove the boat. After this occurrence, I mentioned the issue during a meeting and requested that our City Attorney and Police Department look into what regulations we may or may not enforce on the lake to ensure the security of the surrounding properties. More importantly, how can we expedite the removal of Derelict Boats? Last week, the Commission was going to hear a presentation on this issue, but it was postponed due to an Emergency I had. I want to thank those residents that showed up and those that wrote in with their concerns about the Safety Issues as well as their concerns about Derelict Vessels in the lake. The item will be heard at our next meeting. As always please feel free to contact me anytime with your questions, concerns and ideas to make our City a better place! Wynonna, along with the help of many of her musical friends, including Ashley McBryde, Brandi Carlile, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town and Martina McBride - who will all be returning for the second run, packed out the initial eleven-date arena tour with shows that encapsulated a lifetime of timeless music and heart. • Melissa Errico Crowns The Season: Aventura Broadway Concert Series Finale

Melissa Errico Crowns The Season: Aventura Broadway Concert Series Finale March 7, 2024 Share The City of Aventura presents the finale to the Aventura Broadway Concert Series as Broadway, TV and Film Star Melissa Errico performs The Life & Loves of a Broadway Baby this Sunday, March 10th at 7:00 p.m. During this incredible show, Errico sets her own life to the Broadway songs that she has sung and offers both a sensational set of beloved standards and a series of witty and sometimes wicked stories about an ingenue's life on the Great White Way. This show is a sexy, sublime study of American songs from Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Lerner & Loewe, Taylor Swift and more. Her Life As a Musical Theater Actress, Errico is a Tony Award-Nominated Broadway star — an Actress, Singer and Author who contributes regularly to The New York Times. In summer 2023, she sang a concert in Paris which was broadcast internationally and nationally on Radio France, followed by a sold-out cabaret at the historic Le Bal Blomet. Also last summer, she opened for music icon George Benson at the Montreal Jazz Festival. A knocked-out writer from London Jazz News wrote of Montreal: “Errico was energized, making sure with every breath that she would get the audience in the 3,000-seater Pelletier really on her side. Every high note was heroically held, and she got a standing ovation from this audience. Montreal audiences always want to show their warmth and this one made her deservedly welcome.” In November of 2022, she made her Carnegie Hall debut in the concert Broadway Blockbusters with The New York Pops, where her performance included three Sondheim numbers including: “Losing My Mind,” and “Move On.” As she entered to begin with a song from “My Fair Lady,” Steven Reineke, Principal Conductor of New York Pops, introduced her with flair: “Melissa Errico is a unique force in the musical life of New York City: a Broadway star, a concert artist and an author who regularly contributes essays to The New York Times. There’s really no one like her!” First known for her starring roles on Broadway, including My Fair Lady, High Society, Anna Karenina, White Christmas, Dracula, and Les Misérables, Melissa has had a wide ranging career from television and film to recording. She starred in the CBS show “Central Park West,” and played roles on “Blue Bloods,” “The Knick,” and more, as well as “Billions” on Showtime. She has starred in many non-musical roles by Shaw and Oscar Wilde, including “Dear Liar” in the spring of 2023, playing George Bernard Shaw’s original Eliza Doolittle. Errico’s history with Sondheim began when he selected her to star as Dot in Sunday In The Park With George at The Kennedy Center, then as Clara in Passion at Classic Stage Company; then in the New York City Center Encores! production of Do I Hear A Waltz? In 2020, she sang “Children And Art” in the Sondheim 90th Birthday Concert “Take Me To The World,” and was featured on PBS Television in a documentary special in which she sang “Finishing The Hat” and joined Adam Gopnik and Raul Esparza on Poetry in America. She was also featured in The New York Times Tribute to Sondheim in November 2021 as the top ten interpreter of his work. Her second Sondheim album, “Sondheim In The City” was released on February 16th, 2024. In addition to Sondheim, nothing in her work has been more constant than her association with Composer Michel Legrand. Having starred in his sole Broadway show, Amour, she went on to collaborate with him on the iconic album Legrand Affair. After his death in 2019, she was asked to write his eulogy by The New York Times and was then invited to be the sole American performer in the extraordinary two-day memorial to Legrand held in April, 2019 at Paris’ Le Grand Rex Theatre. Warner Music/Ghostlight Records also reissued her symphonic album, which Legrand arranged & conducted, as Legrand Affair (Deluxe Edition). Her most recent album Out Of The Dark: The Film Noir Project was released by Warner Music/Ghostlight Records, which garnered rave reviews, the 2023 Bistro Award, and was supported by coast-to-coast noir concerts, including Feinstein’s/54 Below, with the Ronnie Scott’s Band in London, and at New York City’s Birdland Jazz Club for in a sold-out 10 performance Valentine’s Week residency. “Melissa Errico’s new album, “Out of the Dark: The Film Noir Project” gives us noir music the way we imagine it…melancholy, bittersweet tales of isolation and loneliness, beauty and betrayal—especially relevant at the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic.” – The Wall Street Journal The Wall Street Journal applauded her talents, reporting "She's so sexy you won't believe your eyes and sings so beautifully you won't believe your ears and talks so charmingly you won't believe it's happening!" • Travel Mistakes - Here Are New Ones People Are Making And How To Avoid Them | sun-times

Travel Mistakes - Here Are New Ones People Are Making And How To Avoid Them By Christopher Elliott Jan 7, 2026 One Of The Newest Mistakes Travelers Make Is Also One Of The Oldest: Forgetting Their Paperwork. It Happened To Katharine Nohr When She Tried To Fly To New Zealand. Nohr, An Attorney From Honolulu, Was So Used To Traveling To Europe That She Assumed That She Didn't Need A Visa To Enter New Zealand. But She Did. "I couldn't check in for my flight," she remembers. "The agent waved me away rudely and said I had to get a visa online.” Travelers are making all kinds of new mistakes. These include failing to do research or worse, outsourcing it to an AI, and not giving themselves enough time to make a flight connection. But one mistake towers above all of them -- and I'll tell you about it in a moment. Why visas are an old problem -- and a new problem Visas are a constant problem because the requirements keep changing. I remember booking a flight to Australia a few years ago when the country didn't have a visa requirement. But before I left, the requirement changed, and when I arrived at the airport, my airline wouldn't let me check in. Fortunately, there's an Australian ETA smartphone app that lets you apply for the necessary permission online, and you can get your approval within minutes. Nohr wasn't so lucky. She tried to secure a visa, but couldn't get it in time. Her flight left without her -- an expensive lesson. "Now I always check for visa requirements online," she says. That's good, because next year, even the EU will require a little paperwork for visitors. After repeated delays, the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) authorization will go into effect. It's a pre-entry requirement that is scheduled to go into effect at the end of 2026. Other new mistakes travelers will make in 2026 Here's a short list of the errors travelers will be making next year -- and how to avoid them. Failing to research your destination It's an easier mistake to make than you might think. Say you're traveling to a place in Canada or Mexico that you've been to many times. It would be easy to say, "I know this place -- no need to do any research." But times change, and especially in 2026, you can't make any assumptions. "Always research the destination thoroughly, including local customs, laws, and cultural norms," advises Frank Harrison, Regional Security Director for the Americas at World Travel Protection. Letting an AI plan your trip This is a growing problem, according to Joe Cronin, CEO of International Citizens Insurance. He says travelers are using ChatGPT or Gemini to generate itineraries that turn out to be riddled with hallucinations and errors. "These tools don't always know if a local spot is closed," he says. "We'll get calls from people who missed connection because it wasn't physically possible to pull off in time." The fix? If you use an AI, make sure you verify the details. Otherwise, you might miss an attraction -- or a flight connection. Not giving yourself enough time As travelers try to cram more activities into less time, their schedules can become too ambitious which can potentially waste time and money. "For example, flying on the same day of the cruise can result in missing the port departure," says Elad Schaffer, CEO of Faye Travel Insurance. Rather than waiting until the last minute to book activities, such as dinner reservations or spa appointments, his advice is to plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time, especially if you're taking a cruise. Packing your sense of skepticism A lot of travelers are stumbling into their next destination, oblivious to what awaits them, experts say. And the problem is getting worse. Susan Sherren, Founder of Luxury Travel Agency Couture Trips, says it's more important than ever to bring critical thinking skills to your next trip. "For example, airlines are using algorithms and AI to pair connecting flights," she says. "Don't always accept the suggested pairing without leaving at least two hours for some connecting flights, especially if you are connecting to an international flight." She says these flights usually board at least an hour before departure. The same thing extends to anything people will tell you when you're on vacation. Just because you see a five-star rating on a hotel doesn't mean it's great. Verify everything. Waiting too long to book your trip One of the worst new mistakes that travelers make is waiting too long to book their vacation. After the COVID-19 Pandemic, there were plenty of last-minute deals available. But those days are over, some experts say. Take your average ski vacation. "People wait until the ski season gets going to plan their trip, and buy their lift tickets at the window on the day they want to ski," says Sarah Beatty, a spokeswoman for Colorado Ski Country USA, a trade group that represents the Colorado ski industry. "The ski industry is just like any other travel industry: the more you plan ahead, the more flexibility you have to find a better deal on lift tickets, lodging, and lessons." So if you're reading this now and you want to go skiing this winter, you'll find the best deals in Argentina and Chile in July -- during the Southern Hemisphere winter. The biggest mistake: Not traveling at all The experts are right, but there's one more mistake -- and it may be the biggest mistake of all. It's letting all the travel worries keep you home. Truth is, you can skip the research, wait until the last minute to plan your trip, hire Mr. ChatGPT as your travel agent, and accept everything at face value -- but taking the trip is still better than not taking it. I know because I've been to some places this year that I didn't care for. I wasn't a fan of chaotic Bangkok, and there were parts of Australia's Red Center that missed the mark. Also, I don't like Tokyo's always-crowded subways. But I wouldn't give up any of those experiences. All the chaos and uncertainty of this year might leave you tempted to avoid any travel in 2026, too. Don't give in to it. After all, a misadventure is still an adventure. A New Generation Of Chiropractic Health Care In Hallandale Beach: Grand opening of merger between North Florida-based Amazing Spine Care And 50-year-old Amunategui Chiropractic Center By Joyce R. Forchion October 10, 2024 Share Hallandale Beach is setting a precedent for delivering quality intergenerational healthcare innovations that cater to the varied needs, preferences, and budgets of its patients. Recognized for its sprawling Intracoastal Waterways, multicultural neighborhood dining haunts, mixed-use Infrastructure and prime real estate, the city is cultivating its reputation for offering access to excellence in chiropractic care after announcing an unprecedented merger between two of Florida’s most formidable chiropractic offices. On Thursday, September 12th, 2024, a ribbon cutting ceremony marked the official grand opening of Amazing Spine Care’s first South Florida location, signaling the launch of its seventh Florida-based office branching out from its established offices in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Orange Park. The event also signified the rebranding of Amunategui Chiropractic Care, the family-owned mainstay in Hallandale Beach known for demonstrating best practices in the preventive medical industry for over 50 years. The Amazing Spine Care team recently moved into Amunategui Chiropractic Care’s medical office located at 1025 East Hallandale Beach Boulevard, which has served as the headquarters for Dr. Joseph Amunategui II’s popular practice for the past 30 years. Accessibility, convenience, and innovation are driving the mission as both physicians believe in meeting patients wherever they are regarding budgetary restrictions and transportation needs. “Our philosophy is centered on never giving up without trying when it comes to patient care,” Garcia said. “We’re committed to delivering results and applying our collective experience to carry out our mission– maximizing our family-oriented business to change the lives of families everywhere. Our 97% success rate is attributed to taking on high-risk conditions and procedures that pay off in benefiting our patients. What others fail to do, we successfully get done!” Now that the Hallandale Beach branch of Amazing Spine Care is open and currently welcoming new patients to its facility, Drs. Khiger and Amunategui express the value of the community partnerships that have made their merger a seamless success. They enthusiastically look forward to embarking on this new chapter together and express high hopes for 2025. “We’re here to help as many people as possible and give our patients the appropriate care they deserve,” Garcia assured. “We’re focused on creating easy access to care for people of all ages and reserve a special place in our hearts for infant care. We encourage potential clients to reach out to us for a same-day appointment, with the assurance of knowing that their requests will be immediately addressed. A nurse practitioner is also on hand to facilitate telemedicine appointments for patients who are limited to virtual capabilities.” Amazing Spine Care appeals to multi-generational clients and guarantees exemplary patient satisfaction while administering the highest quality in chiropractic service with a smile. • Can't Get Next To You: A Temptations Experience You'll Remember

Can't Get Next To You: A Temptations Experience You'll Remember November 16, 2022 Share Saturday, January 7th, 2023 will certainly be a night you'll remember. The Temptations Experience will be in town starring Larry Johnson, Terry Horn, Michael White, Steven Wood and Greg Woods, Can’t Get Next to You features classic like “Cloud Nine,” “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Papa was a Rolling Stone” and more tunes that defined Motown and the Music of the 1960’s and 1970’s. Each member of the group has toured with former Temptations. Together, they bring a show that celebrates one of the most successful groups in popular music, a group that was the first Motown act to win a Grammy and was later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This show will leave you on Cloud Nine and it won’t just be your imagination. The original Temptations boasted dynamite choreography and soulful, elegant harmonies spanning the entire spectrum of vocal timbres from high and middle tenor to baritone and bass. Although the group’s melodies and vocal interplay sound effortless, they were actually carefully organized to amplify the strengths of each individual member. Can’t Get Next to You has followed that plan. Larry Johnson sang second tenor and lead vocals with former Temptations Ollie “Ali” Woodson’s Group, The Emperors of Soul. He also sang lead vocals with groups fronted by former Temptations members Richard Street, Barrington Henderson and Theo Peoples. He also performed concerts with Peoples, helping to continue his legacy as the only man to sing lead with both the Temptations and the Four Tops. The group is rounded out with the opera trained Terry Horn; Steven Wood, who has performed with several Temptations artists; Michael White, a 1990’s Pop Artist with a flair for Motown and Greg Woods, formerly of Frankie Lyman’s Teenagers. Can’t Get Next to You brings their artistry to life, with these classic songs we all know and love. Come see why the Temptations were ranked 68 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100th Greatest Artists of All Time.
