- A Foodies Paradise: Hallandale Beach Is In The Culinary Spotlight
A Foodies Paradise: Hallandale Beach Is In The Culinary Spotlight February 17, 2022 Share Get ready to sample food from around the world and party! The Hallandale Beach Food & Groove Festival will take place on Saturday evening, February 26, 2022, from 7:00 to 11:00 pm at the Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach. Sponsored by the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (HBCRA) and South Beach Wine and Food Festival (SOBEWFF®), this annual event provides South Floridians with an evening of dining, dancing and entertainment. The SOBEWFF® Hallandale Beach Event Series is a part of the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency’s (HBCRA) strategic plan to promote economic development by branding the city as a destination for food, arts and entertainment, while also attracting international exposure to local participating restaurants. This is the third year in a row that the HBCRA is partnering with SOBEWFF® to host the Hallandale Beach Event Series. “We are excited to bring the community together to sample our unique restaurants and experience the very best in local dining.” said Dr. Jeremy Earle, City Manager and CRA Executive Director of The City of Hallandale Beach. “This event will also help our local economy and businesses gain renewed visibility and new patrons. The social value of this festival and its economic development goals are complementary to one another.” Gulfstream Park and its iconic Pegasus statue will serve as the venue for the event, offering a dynamic, outdoor environment with music, dancing and entertainment set to an ocean breeze. Guests are invited to come dressed in all-white ensembles and be prepared to celebrate in high SOBEWFF® style. This exciting evening of outdoor fun will be hosted by MasterChef finalist and TikTok sensation Nick DiGiovanni. Guests can stroll from table to table and enjoy the cuisine over over 25 local restaurants while sipping refreshing creations from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio. They will be able to learn about the chefs behind the menus, the cultural highlights of the cuisine, and other information about the restaurants. “Today, people learn about their dining tastes and preferences through a variety of sources: social media, YouTube, and of course hearsay,” says Faith Phinn, Deputy Director of the HBCRA. “We will be bringing this dynamic culture of local personalities together in one, hands-on experience that will be educating as much as it is fun.” Remarkably, the restaurants participating represent five continents of cuisine. They include Nana's Food For You, Nana's Sapibon Haitian Restaurant, Mo-ises Bakery, Urban Thai & Sushi, Dunn's River Island Café, See Thai and Japanese Cuisine, Ceviche Avenue, Dr. Limon Hallandale, CAO Bakery & Café, La Estancia Argentina, Yardhouse, El Tayta Peruvian Restaurant, Wapo Tacos, D's Delights, Judy's Bakery, Flashback Diner, Holi Vegan Kitchen, Mable's Island Kitchen, Il Mercato Café and Wine Bar, Matteo's, Don Lolo's, The Krazy Vegan, Belly Fish, El Tamarindo Coal Fired Pizza, Ten Palms, and Chapultepec Mexican Restaurant. YouTube personality Chef Irie will also be on-hand with his famous cuisine. All restaurants participating in the event will have the opportunity to win, first, second, or third-place in the evening’s Best of Show awards. These awards will be based on presentation, uniqueness, and of course tastiness! Prizes for winning restaurants are: First Place $1000, Second Place $500, Third Place $250. The contest will be judged by a panel of judges and the prizes and awards will be awarded at the end of the event on Saturday evening. The cost to attend the Hallandale Beach Food & Groove: A Wine, Food and Art Experience is $75 per person, plus tax and service fees. Guests must be age 21 or over. To purchase tickets, visit sobewff.org/groove. Another great event that will take place as part of SOBEWFF® in Hallandale Beach is the Goya Foods' Family Fun Fest. This two-day family friendly event will take place Saturday and Sunday (February 26 – 27) from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm each day at Peter Bluesten Park in Hallandale Beach, 501 SE 1st Ave in Hallan-dale Beach. Guests will be able to join their favorite Food Net-work & Cooking Channel chefs and culinary personalities for two action-packed days of food and fun at this family-friendly outdoor event at Peter Bluesten Park. There will also be an appearance by the Miami Dolphins and cheerleaders on Sunday February 27th! The Goya Foods' Family Fun Fest event is produced in partnership with the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelop-ment Agency. Children of all ages will have the chance to explore the park’s expansive grounds as they revel in the Festival’s fun-filled programming, complete with energetic activities and fantastically flavored food. They’ll also get the opportunity to see their culinary heroes up close and personal as they host interactive cooking demonstrations that showcase some seriously mouthwatering (and completely kid-friendly) recipes! Save the babysitter for another time and get ready to take in some fresh Florida air because this spirited SOBEWFF® day in Hallandale Beach is made for the whole family! Tickets are $15 per person for the Goya Foods' Family Fun Fest days and can be purchased by visiting, https://sobewff.org/fff/ The Hallandale Beach Com-munity Redevelopment Agency has been instrumental bringing these events to Hallandale Beach, to promote all the City has to offer. The HBCRA works directly with small businesses in the City to overcome economic challenges through its many innovative commercial and residential programs. The creation of events such as SOBEWFF help stimulate commercial activity and awareness of Hallandale Beach throughout South Florida. All guests, talent, staff, students and working personnel at all event venues will be required to complete a digital health screening through SymCheck™. This includes attestation of either: a negative COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours prior to the event OR completed vaccination plus presentation of a cleared SymCheck™ QR Code. Anyone presenting symptoms on arrival will be denied entry. All proceeds from the Festival benefit the students of the Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management who also assist Festival organizers with sponsorship fulfillment, restaurant and exhibitor recruitment, logistics, and inventory as well as working alongside some of the world’s greatest celebrity chefs and winemakers. To date, SOBE-WFF® has raised more than $31.8 million for the School. In Sep-tember 2019, BizBash named the Festival the #1 Food & Res-taurant Industry event in the United States for the seventh year in a row. < Previous News Next News >
- Romance Fizzling Instead Of Sizzling? Relationship Experts Share New Approach For Overcoming The Valentine’s Day Blues
Romance Fizzling Instead Of Sizzling? Relationship Experts Share New Approach For Overcoming The Valentine’s Day Blues February 6, 2025 Share After holding out hope for a romantic Valentine's Day, the disappointing reality over what their partner didn't do prompts many people to ask themselves, "Is this relationship enough for me?" And with the answer often comes an urge to try to talk their partner into couples counseling, hoping for the ultimate fix. Not so fast, say relationship experts Stacey and Paul Martino, who warn that all-too often, couples counseling does more harm than good. “We have a completely contradictory approach to couples work, yet our results are unmatched,” Stacey Martino said. For more than 14 years, the Martinos have helped thousands of people around the world through live events and programs with their unique Relationship Development Methodology, which empowers just one person to transform a relationship — without compromise, without pleasing and without couples work. And now, their groundbreaking method is accessible to everyone in their new book, The Missing Piece: A Proven Method to Single-Handedly Transform Your Relationship and Create Harmony in Your Home. “Our mission is to flip the switch on the disposable relationship paradigm we have been handed and make the future better for our kids than it was for us,” Stacey Martino said. “We wrote this book because it is the solution I wish I had when my relationship was hanging by a thread.” In The Missing Piece, the Martinos demonstrate why the old relationship paradigm is broken, why couples work is actually destructive, and how their norm-shattering one-person methodology can be easily learned by readers to empower them to single-handedly transform their marriages, put a stop to relationship kerfuffles and bring harmony back to their homes. “Whether the reader wishes to make a great relationship even better, rescue a marriage on the brink of divorce or heal a co-parenting relationship affecting their family, this book has the perspective shifts they’ll need,” Paul Martino said. Written in a relatable and actionable style, The Missing Piece is packed with practical tools and demonstrates how one person can begin to transform a relationship, without compromise and without having to convince their partner to get on board. At a time when divorce rates are sky-high and families are unnecessarily suffering, The Missing Piece provides proven, powerful strategies to help readers navigate real-life situations harmoniously, regardless of what they are currently facing. “Multiple publishers have informed us that there has never been a book published that promises a one-person relationship method before,” Stacey Martino added. “But this isn’t just a theory or idea. The Relationship Development Methodology has been proven by many students, over many years. Now it’s your turn to finally get the missing piece.” The Missing Piece: A Proven Method to Single-Handedly Transform Your Relationship and Create Harmony in Your Home Available from: www.Amazon.com < Previous News Next News >

Running from November 15th to December 20th, this year’s drive aims to bring joy and smiles to children in need throughout the community. The concept of the Holiday Toy Drive is straightforward yet powerful: collect new, unwrapped toys for children aged 6 months to 16 years. Each donation can make a significant difference in a child's life, offering them the joy of unwrapping a gift during this festive time of year. Residents and visitors are encouraged to participate in this heartwarming initiative by dropping off toys at one of the conveniently located donation boxes across the city: • Pelican Community Park – 18115 North Bay Road, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 • Gateway Center – 151 Sunny Isles Boulevard, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 • Government Center – 18070 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 To ensure the Safety and Well-Being of all recipients, organizers kindly ask that contributors avoid donating stuffed animals this year. This request is in line with health and safety guidelines to ensure that the toys provided are safe and suitable for all children. Participating in the Holiday Toy Drive is about more than just giving a gift; it’s about fostering a sense of community and showing kindness to those who may be facing difficult times. Every toy donated serves as a reminder that the spirit of compassion and generosity thrives in Sunny Isles Beach. For many families, the holiday season can be a challenging time, particularly for those facing financial hardships. Your donations help alleviate some of that burden, ensuring that children have the chance to experience the joy of receiving a gift during the holidays. It’s an opportunity for the community to come together, share joy, and create lasting memories for local families. Over the years, the Holiday Toy Drive has seen incredible support from the residents of Sunny Isles Beach and surrounding areas. Last year, the drive was a big success, thanks to the generous contributions from community members. Each year, the initiative has grown, highlighting the power of collective action and the importance of community spirit. Local businesses and organizations are also encouraged to get involved, whether by hosting their own toy drives or by providing sponsorship. Collaborating in this effort not only strengthens community bonds but also enhances the holiday experience for those who may be struggling. Joining Spreading Holiday Cheer As we approach the holiday season, the City of Sunny Isles Beach invites everyone to embrace the spirit of giving. By donating a toy, you’re not just providing a present; you’re sharing hope, love, and warmth with a child who may need it most.
