- The Deep State’s Triumph: 2024 And The Erosion Of Liberty
The Deep State’s Triumph: 2024 And The Erosion Of Liberty By John & Nisha Whitehead January 8, 2025 Share We have become a nation adrift in a sea of government overreach, abuse and corruption. The following is a sobering account of the challenges we faced in 2024, which were marked by the government’s never-ending power grabs and relentless assaults on our civil liberties. 2024 saw a continued rise in government overreach and abuse of power. The militarization of police forces continued unabated, with local departments increasingly resembling extensions of the military. Schools, meant to be places of learning and growth, became more prison-like with the implementation of “safety” measures that criminalize minor infractions and create an environment of fear. The right to private property was further eroded, with the government increasingly empowered to seize assets under various pretexts. The plight of the homeless worsened, with cities criminalizing homelessness and implementing policies designed to make their lives even more difficult. Military veterans, once hailed as heroes, were increasingly treated with suspicion and subjected to surveillance. On almost every front this year, the government overreached and abused its powers. With every new law enacted by federal and state legislatures, every new ruling handed down by government courts, and every new military weapon, invasive tactic and egregious protocol employed by government agents, we were reminded that in the eyes of the government and its corporate accomplices, “we the people” possess no rights except for that which the Deep State grants on an as-needed basis. Surveillance eroded what little privacy we have left. The Surveillance State grew even more pervasive. Facial recognition technology expanded into new areas of our lives, with vast amounts of our biometric data collected, often without our knowledge or consent, eroding our anonymity and enabling unprecedented tracking of our movements. Data breaches continued to expose the vulnerability of our personal information. Free speech continued to be under attack. Protest laws, free speech zones, and other restrictions made it more difficult for citizens to exercise their First Amendment rights. Social Media companies, often in collusion with the government, engaged in censorship of viewpoints they deemed unacceptable. This online censorship creates an echo chamber and limits the free flow of information. The influence of the Deep State and the military-industrial complex continued to grow. Endless wars abroad drained the nation’s resources while doing little to make Americans safer. The military-industrial complex’s grip on almost every aspect of American life tightened. The president became more imperial. Although the Constitution invests the President with very specific, limited powers, in recent years, American presidents have claimed the power to completely and almost unilaterally alter the landscape of this country for good or for ill. The powers amassed by each successive president through the negligence of Congress and the courts—powers which add up to a toolbox of terror for an imperial ruler—empower whoever occupies the Oval Office to act as a dictator, above the law and beyond any real accountability. The presidency itself has become an imperial one with permanent powers. The cost of endless wars drove the nation deeper into debt. Policing the globe and waging endless wars abroad hasn’t made America—or the rest of the world—any safer, but it has made the military industrial complex rich at taxpayer expense. The courts failed to uphold justice. Time and time again, the Supreme Court failed to right the wrongs being meted out by the American police state. A review of critical court rulings over the past decade or so, including some ominous ones by the U.S. Supreme Court, reveals a startling and steady trend towards pro-police state rulings by an institution concerned more with establishing order and protecting the ruling class and government agents than with upholding the rights enshrined in the Constitution. The rich got richer, and the poor went to jail. Not content to expand the police state’s power to search, strip, seize, raid, steal from, arrest and jail Americans for any infraction, no matter how insignificant, the courts continued their practice of jailing individuals who are unable to pay the hefty fines imposed by the American police state. These debtors’ prisons play right into the hands of those who make a profit by jailing Americans. This is no longer a government “of the people, by the people, for the people.” It is fast becoming a government “of the rich, by the elite, for the corporations,” and its rise to power is predicated on shackling the American taxpayer to a debtors’ prison guarded by a phalanx of politicians, bureaucrats and militarized police with no hope of parole and no chance for escape. Police became even more militarized and weaponized. Despite concerns about the government’s steady transformation of local police into a standing military army, local police agencies continued to acquire weaponry, training and equipment suited for the battlefield. There are now reportedly more bureaucratic (non-military) government civilians armed with high-tech, deadly weapons than U.S. Marines. Schools turned into prisons. So-called school “safety” policies, which run the gamut from zero tolerance policies that punish all infractions harshly to surveillance cameras, metal detectors, random searches, drug-sniffing dogs, school-wide lockdowns, active-shooter drills and militarized police officers, turned schools into prisons and young people into prisoners. The government waged a renewed war on private property. The battle to protect our private property has become the final constitutional frontier, the last holdout against our freedoms being usurped. We no longer have any real property rights. That house you live in, the car you drive, whatever money you manage to keep in your bank account after the government and its cronies have taken their first and second and third cut…none of it is safe from the government’s greedy grasp. At no point do you ever have any real ownership in anything other than the clothes on your back. Everything else can be seized by the government under one pretext or another (civil asset forfeiture, unpaid taxes, eminent domain, public interest, etc.). In sum, 2024 was a disheartening year for those who cherish freedom. Yet no matter who sits in the White House, politics won’t fix a system that is broken beyond repair. As I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People and in its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, we are at our most vulnerable right now: the gravest threat facing us as a nation in 2025 is not extremism but despotism, exercised by a ruling class whose only allegiance is to power and money. - Mosaic Miami To Honor Peter Maer
Mosaic Miami To Honor Peter Maer December 30, 2024 Share With The National Hank Meyer Headliner Award For Excellence In Responsible Journalism Mosaic Miami (formerly MCCJ), a NonProfit dedicated to fostering unity and inclusivity within our community, is proud to announce that Peter Maer, Former CBS News White House Correspondent, will receive the prestigious Hank Meyer Headliner Award for his outstanding storytelling that highlights individuals striving for a more unified society. The award ceremony will be hosted by Jane Wooldridge, Miami Herald Senior Director for Journalism Sustainability and Partnerships, on February 6th, 2025. It will also feature a special fireside chat between Maer and Kelvin Pierce, Author of Sins of My Father: Growing Up with America’s Most Dangerous White Supremacist. The award, established in the 1970’s, honors individuals who have significantly contributed to advancing diversity and community welfare. The award is named in memory of Hank Meyer, a well-known Miami Beach publicist credited with bringing more than 60 shows to Miami Beach between the 1950’s - 1970’s. They named a Boulevard after him because he brought The Jackie Gleason Show, Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts, Mike Douglas, Jack Paar, Dinah Shore, Red Skelton, and The Ed Sullivan Show to Miami Beach. In the 1970’s, he honored journalist Walter Cronkite with the very first Hank Meyer Headliner Award. Since then, it has gone to several prominent journalists annually, including Dan Rather, Barbara Walters, and Tom Brokaw. As a well-known publicist, Meyer believed in the work of MCCJ (now Mosaic Miami) and thus loaned his talents and connections to the organization. Since his passing in 1999, the award has continued to recognize those who embody Mosaic Miami’s values, including Miami Herald columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. and ABC’s “What Would You Do?” John Quiñones, NPR’s Michelle Martin, MSNBC’s Joy-Ann Reid, ABC’s Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd, New York Times Op-Ed columnist Charles M. Blow, and NPR’s Joshua Johnson, to name a few. “While I have always strived to be an objective reporter, there is no objectivity, no "other side" when it comes to shining the glaring spotlight on all forms of bigotry and those who perpetrate hatred,” said Peter Maer. “From my earliest days as a reporter in small-town Illinois to my years of covering national news, I reported as I saw it.” He covered the Civil Rights Movement in Atlanta in the 1970’s and was often there with the late John Lewis. He interviewed the Reverend Martin Luther King, Sr. just days after his wife, Alberta Williams King, was shot as she played the organ at Ebenezer Church. In 1988, on a trip to Moscow with President Reagan, he recalled that he “secretly recorded and later broadcast the stories of Russian "Refusedniks," Jews who were refused permission to leave the then-Soviet Union.” Maer received an Overseas Press Club Award for that coverage. In 2019, he accepted the “Walter Cronkite Faith and Freedom Award” from the Interfaith Alliance and later became a member of the Alliance's board of directors. After retiring from CBS News, Maer has done all he can to share stories of those who fight hatred, including the Kelvin Pierce story. John Kozyak, a childhood friend and former Humanitarian Silver Medallion winner, will present Peter Maer with the Hank Meyer Headliner Award. “After more than 60 years of friendship, I can confidently say Peter is richly deserving of this award,” said Kozyak. He highlighted how Peter introduced him to the Interfaith Alliance and the powerful story of Kelvin Pierce, whose traumatic upbringing under a notorious white supremacist father exemplifies the critical work we do at Mosaic Miami to combat hate and promote understanding. The story goes that when Peter hired Kelvin as a contractor to build his house, they developed a mutual respect. Peter was more than a client; they became friends, and when Kelvin approached him for advice on going public with his painful life story, Peter looped Rabbi Jack Moline, the then-President of the National Interfaith Alliance, into the mix. The Rabbi offered the early guidance that Kelvin needed. He also provided a special audience for one of Kelvin's first public appearances, an opportunity to speak to a Virginia Commission on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion held at the State Capitol. Faith leaders from all denominations were stunned and moved by Kelvin's presentation that day in Richmond. “The book is a hard read, but an important one at that,” said Maer, who is reading Sins of My Father for a second time in preparation for the fireside chat. “I grew up as the only Jew in a high school in Granite City, Illinois, but I never experienced racism myself. Kelvin Pierce’s story exemplifies inner strength to fight his indoctrination and overcome both physical and psychological abuse.” To further underscore the strong bonds of friendship and shared commitment to community advocacy, the event will include a book signing session, allowing attendees to engage with Peter Maer and Kelvin Pierce. This gathering will be open to the public, reinforcing Mosaic Miami’s commitment to making essential discussions accessible to all community members. "We are thrilled to honor Peter Maer with the Hank Meyer Headliner Award," said Matt Anderson, Executive Director of Mosaic Miami. "His dedication to telling the truth has illuminated the journeys of many who seek a more inclusive and unified community. We look forward to an inspiring evening of conversation and reflection." - Democrats' Key To Winning The Midterms | sun-times
Democrats' Key To Winning The Midterms By Howard Dean Sep 24, 2026 American Voters Desperately Want Relief From Rising Prices -- Especially The Increasingly Unaffordable Cost Of Healthcare. Democrats Have A Plan For That. Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren recently introduced the Break Up Big Medicine Act, a bill that would split up the huge conglomerates that have made the current healthcare system so expensive and frustrating to navigate. Businessman Mark Cuban recently quipped that breaking up these near-monopolies could bring costs down by 40%. If Democrats run on this healthcare affordability agenda, we stand a good chance of flipping not just the House, but the Senate too. Insurers like UnitedHealth or Cigna don't just sell coverage. They've consolidated power over virtually every part of our healthcare system, operating hospitals, clinics and pharmacy networks. And they use that control to generate billions in profits -- by pushing patients toward care at the facilities they control. UnitedHealth Group, for example, generates about 40% of its revenue --about $180 Billion-- from transactions between its thousands of subsidiaries. Its insurance branch steers patients to its roughly 90,000 affiliated doctors, and pressures those physicians to refer patients to its affiliated hospitals and clinics rather than lower-cost independent providers. And that's not all. The company's pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) arm pushes patients to affiliated pharmacies. Those pharmacies frequently upcharge patients for medicines, sometimes by 10 times the acquisition cost. In theory, PBMs exist to save employers money by overseeing all the drug-related details of health insurance plans, and using their bulk-buying power to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies for big discounts and rebates. PBMs often tell employers that they pass along all the discounts and rebates they receive to the employer, minus a small fee for their services. What they typically don't mention is that many PBMs are affiliated with foreign-based entities called "group purchasing organizations." In 2025, the House Oversight Committee launched an investigation into whether PBMs are using these overseas entities to skirt government oversight. Lawmakers have raised concerns that these arrangements allow PBMs to retain rebate-related revenue and fees within opaque corporate structures, rather than transparently passing those savings on to employers and patients. Meanwhile, insurers continually deny coverage for treatments and procedures that patients need. They often force doctors to get insurer approval -- known as prior authorization -- before prescribing, or they force patients onto less effective drugs. That places an immense administrative burden on physicians, who can spend an average of 12 hours per week completing prior authorizations, time that they'd certainly rather spend with patients. Breaking up the healthcare conglomerates that have enriched themselves by immiserating patients and cheating employers is good policy. Polls show that voters overwhelmingly support bold healthcare reform. According to a recent poll, nearly seven in ten insured Americans identified either lowering out-of-pocket costs or nixing prior authorization as the single most important change they want from their health insurance. It would be a mistake for Democrats to content themselves with merely tweaking the Inflation Reduction Act, the party's last major healthcare reform, which primarily focused on reducing the federal government's pharmaceutical spending. That kind of incrementalism won't work -- Democrats cannot win by being Republican-lite. We need to target the insurer and PBM practices that directly drive up Americans' out-of-pocket costs and force too many people to choose between filling their prescriptions and filling their gas tanks. If Democrats are looking for a 50-state strategy for the midterms, Senator Warren's Bill offers a great place to start. In large saucepan over low heat, melt butter; stir in 5 cups marshmallows, stirring constantly, 3-4 minutes, or until completely melted. Stir in vanilla. Remove from heat. Stir in 8 cups popcorn until coated. Spread onto prepared pizza pan in irregular round shape, about 1-inch thick, to resemble spider web. Refrigerate about 15 minutes, or until firm. In microwave, melt remaining marshmallows about 20 seconds, or until melted. Using spatula, string strands of melted marshmallow over popcorn spider web to create cobweb effect. In heatproof bowl set over saucepan of hot (not boiling) water, melt 3/4 cup chocolate chips; cool slightly. In large bowl of remaining popcorn, pour chocolate over popcorn, folding gently to coat. Spread mixture on waxed paper-lined baking sheet, separating into eight small clusters. Affix two candy eyes to each popcorn cluster. Refrigerate 10-15 minutes, or until set. Melt remaining chocolate chips. Cut licorice into 1-inch lengths. Using small spoon, dab circles of chocolate onto spider web. Affix chocolate-coated popcorn onto chocolate circles. Affix licorice lengths to chocolate popcorn clusters to resemble spider legs. Refrigerate 15 minutes, or until set. To serve, cut into smaller pieces. Witchy Popcorn Balls Yield: 8 popcorn balls • 16 chocolate wafer cookies • nonstick cooking spray • 3 quarts popped popcorn • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter or margarine • 3 cups miniature marshmallows • 3 tablespoons (1/2 of 3-ounce box) lime gelatin dessert mix • green food color (optional) • 3/4 cup chocolate chips • licorice strings • 8 chocolate ice cream cones • orange sugar sprinkles, placed in small dish • jelly beans • candy corns Spread sheet of waxed or parchment paper over work surface and place wafer cookies on it. Spray large mixing bowl with nonstick cooking spray and place popcorn inside. In medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Stir in marshmallows and gelatin powder until marshmallows are melted and mixture is smooth. Adjust color with 1-2 drops food color, if desired. Pour mixture over popcorn and mix until coated. Spray hands with nonstick cooking spray and press firmly to form into eight balls. Place balls on eight wafer cookies. Press candy decorations into popcorn balls to form "eyes," "nose" and "mouth." In small, microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate chips, covered, 10 seconds. Stir to aid melting. Repeat as needed until chocolate is melted and smooth. Spoon about 1/2 teaspoon melted chocolate on top of each popcorn ball. Press licorice strings into chocolate to form "hair." Dip cone edges into melted chocolate then orange sugar sprinkles. Place on remaining wafer cookies to form "witches' hats." Place hats on popcorn balls. Allow chocolate to set about 45 minutes before serving. Serve or seal individually in plastic wrap. Green Halloween Zombies Yield: about 7 pieces • 2 1/2 quarts popped popcorn • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine • 3 cups mini marshmallows • 4 tablespoons lime gelatin powder • red gum balls • candy corn • flat green candy strips or fruit leather • green sugar sprinkles Place popcorn in large bowl; set aside. In medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir marshmallows into butter until melted. Stir in gelatin powder until evenly colored. Pour melted mixture over popcorn and stir until evenly coated. With buttered hands, shape popcorn into seven ovals. Flatten one oval slightly and squeeze one end to form "skull" shape. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat with remaining ovals. To decorate: Press two gumballs into each skull to form "eyes." Press candy corn into skull to form "teeth." Use scissors to trim candy strips and press into top for "hair." Sprinkle with sugar sprinkles. Allow "zombies" to set about 20 minutes before wrapping individually in plastic wrap or serve immediately. Popcorn Caramel Apples Yield: 4 apples • 1 quart freshly popped popcorn • 1 package (9 1/2 ounces, 35 total) caramels, unwrapped • 1/4 cup light cream or half-and-half • 4 lollipop sticks or wooden candy apple sticks • 4 apples • 1/2 cup chocolate chips • sugar sprinkles • decorative ribbon (optional) Place popcorn in large bowl; set aside. Place sheet of waxed paper on work surface. In small saucepan over medium-low heat, heat caramels and cream. Stir frequently until caramels are melted and cream is blended into caramels. - Turning Setbacks Into Comebacks: ‘Recession Guidelines’ Focused On Mental Health
Turning Setbacks Into Comebacks: ‘Recession Guidelines’ Focused On Mental Health December 7, 2023 Share He’s known as a Strategic Consultant and Business Coach, so Author George R. Leonard says he often surprises people when they ask about his new book. “They ask, ‘What’s it about, Finance?’ And I say no. It’s actually about your Mental Health. Because the way our economic situation is now, you may be having panic attacks and don’t even realize it,” Leonard said. “Our biggest issue is identifying the problem. It’s you vs. you. We are buying things to impress people who don’t even like us. You need to identify the problem, treat the problem and defeat the problem.” The book is called How To Thrive In A Recession: “You Vs. You,” so people understandably expect financial advice, but Leonard’s goal is to guide readers into a mental state that helps them maintain a resilient mindset, make sound financial decisions and cultivate personal growth in adversity. In other words, the ability to thrive in a recession or any other set of circumstances. “What’s the worst thing that’s happened to you?” Leonard asked. “Don’t go through it; grow through it. Life happens for you, not to you.” Unlike financial guides, How To Thrive In A Recession: “You Vs. You” takes a deep dive into Mental Health Disorders, explains what a recession is and then explores where the two intersect and actions that can be taken to overcome obstacles. Leonard challenges the notion that external circumstances determine an individual’s personal and professional growth, and instead helps readers recognize their own worth by guiding them on a journey of self-discovery. Ultimately, Leonard hopes his practical guidance will equip readers with the tools they need to achieve personal growth in the face of adversity. “You can’t change the world until you change yourself,” he added. “It’s not where you start, but where you finish. There’s no magic pill and it’s not what side of the tracks you’re from. It’s about what you think and choose to create. Your experiences are not good or bad; it’s what you learn from them. No matter what’s going on in your life, you have the power of choice. You’ve got to have a setback for a comeback!” About the Author George R. Leonard is the Founder and CEO of Move Nation Media and has nearly three decades of experience in sales, business and entrepreneurship. MOCA Is Celebrating Diversity: The Museum Of Contemporary Art, North Miami Inspired By Its Surrounding Communities May 31, 2023 Share Through the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA)’s continued efforts to include diverse voices and perspectives, the museum is offering a robust series of educational and public programming to commemorate Pride Month and Caribbean-American Heritage Month this June. On view through Sunday, October 1st, 2023, “Lonnie Holley: If You Really Knew” invites visitors to experience the work of Prolific Artist Lonnie Holley in his first major exhibition in the South. Also on view is the “South Florida Cultural Consortium” (SFCC) Exhibition which showcases the work of 12 intergenerational South Florida artists. “Lonnie Holley: If You Really Knew” provides an intimate and focused look at the career of Birmingham, Alabama-born Artist and Musician Lonnie Holley. The Exhibition, curated by MOCA Curator Adeze Wilford, features 70 works including foundational “sandstone” sculptures, new works on paper and large-scale quilt paintings that depict faces. Known for his unique style of art that draws inspiration from his life experiences, Holley often incorporates found objects and everyday materials, which he transforms into thought-provoking art. - The Shortest Race On the Track - Corgis Set To Dash At Gulfstream Park At The Inaugural Coastal Corgi Classic | sun-times
The Shortest Race On the Track - Corgis Set To Dash At Gulfstream Park At The Inaugural Coastal Corgi Classic South Florida Sun Times Feb 25, 2026 Known For The Thunder Of Hooves And The Flash Of Silks Streaking Down Its Storied Dirt Track, Gulfstream Park Is Preparing For A Very Different Kind Of Horsepower On Saturday, March 14th, 2026. In Place Of Sleek Thoroughbreds, The Spotlight Will Shine On A Field Of Short-Legged, Big-Eared Competitors For The Inaugural Coastal Corgi Classic — A Family-Friendly spectacle That Promises Maximum Cuteness And Surprisingly Fierce Competition. For one afternoon, the iconic South Florida Racetrack will transform into a playground for registered Corgis, as the beloved breed takes part in a series of short, controlled sprint races. While the competitors may stand under a foot tall the excitement will measure up to any stakes race on the calendar. The Coastal Corgi Classic is designed as both a lighthearted entertainment event and a carefully managed competition. The races will be conducted under strict safety, operational, and Animal-Welfare guidelines. The goal is to deliver a joyful, community-focused experience without compromising the professional standards that define Gulfstream Park’s racing operations. Four Heats, One Champion The format mirrors traditional racing in structure, if not in stride length. The day will feature four qualifying heats. The top three finishers in each heat will advance to the Championship race, where the finalists will compete for top honors. Medals and trophies will be awarded to the three fastest Corgis in the final showdown. All entrants, regardless of how far they advance, will leave with swag bags filled with canine-friendly prizes, including dog bowls, tennis balls, and other goodies. The take-home treats ensure that every participant feels like a winner — even if they get distracted mid-race by a squeaky toy or the roar of the crowd. Registration is open exclusively to Corgis, and officials are clear about the rules: no other breeds will be allowed on the property for this event. Owners must submit American Kennel Club Registration Documentation, Current Vaccination Records, and any additional required health or identification paperwork upon check-in. The final day to enter a Corgi into the competition is Sunday, March 1st, 2026. Check-in on race day will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Carousel Club Garden, giving owners time to prepare their pint-sized sprinters for their moment in the spotlight. Serious Safety For Serious Fun While the atmosphere is expected to be festive, organizers emphasize that safety is paramount. All dogs must remain on a leash at all times before and after their races. Owners and handlers are responsible for their dogs throughout the event, including cleanup duties and compliance with all instructions from Gulfstream Park Staff. The venue reserves the right to expel any dog if necessary, underscoring its commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly environment. Public address announcements, participant recognition and designated photo opportunities will be incorporated into the day’s programming, adding to the celebratory feel. The event represents a creative expansion of Gulfstream Park Racing’s entertainment offerings. Traditionally associated with premier Thoroughbred meets and high-profile stakes races, the track has increasingly embraced community-oriented programming that appeals to families and younger audiences. By introducing the Coastal Corgi Classic, Gulfstream Park aims to blend its rich racing heritage with a dose of Social-Media-ready charm. The sight of dozens of Corgis sprinting down the dirt track — ears flapping, tails wagging — is expected to draw enthusiastic crowds and generate plenty of shareable moments. A Perfect Fit For South Florida Corgis, with their compact builds and animated personalities, have become internet sensations in recent years. From viral videos to dedicated fan accounts, the breed commands a devoted following. Hosting a Corgi Race in South Florida taps into that popularity while offering a novel attraction for local families and visitors alike. Gulfstream Park, located at 901 South Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach, Florida 33009 and is uniquely positioned to stage such an event. The venue not only boasts a World-Class racing facility but also anchors a broader entertainment and lifestyle destination that includes dining, shopping and open-air gathering spaces. That combination makes it well-suited to accommodate both canine competitors and the crowds eager to cheer them on. Organizers expect a mix of seasoned Corgi owners and first-time participants. For some, the race will be a playful test of their dog’s speed and focus. For others, it will simply be an opportunity to enjoy a memorable day out with fellow dog lovers. Community, Creativity And Competition The Coastal Corgi Classic reflects a broader trend within sports and entertainment venues: diversifying programming to create year-round engagement. By hosting breed-specific races under controlled conditions, racetracks can introduce new audiences to their facilities while maintaining high operational standards. Gulfstream Park is always focusing on innovative family friendly events as part of an ongoing community-focused entertainment. Even as the track continues to host elite Thoroughbred Racing, it is exploring ways to make the venue accessible and appealing to a wider demographic. The Corgi-only requirement, though strict, ensures a level playing field and simplifies logistical planning. With dogs of similar size and temperament competing against one another, the races can be structured safely and fairly. Owners who believe they have the fastest Corgi in South Florida are encouraged to register before the March 1st, 2026 Deadline. Detailed registration instructions and additional information are available through Gulfstream Park’s official website: https://www.gulfstreampark.com/event/entertainment/coastal-corgi-classic-mar-14/ From Thoroughbreds to Tiny Sprinters Though the competitors may be smaller than usual, the energy on March 14th, 2026 is expected to rival that of any major race day. Spectators will trade binoculars for smartphones as they capture the action, and the cheers that typically accompany a photo finish are likely to erupt when a determined Corgi charges across the line. In a sport defined by tradition, the Coastal Corgi Classic offers a playful reminder that racing, at its heart, is about shared excitement. Whether it’s a champion Thoroughbred chasing glory or a pint-sized Corgi sprinting toward a squeaky toy at the finish, the thrill of the dash remains the same. As Gulfstream Park prepares to host what may be the shortest race on its track, one thing is certain: on March 14th, 2026, the smallest competitors will command the biggest applause.
