- The American Kleptocracy: A Government of Liars, Thieves and Lawbreakers
The American Kleptocracy: A Government of Liars, Thieves and Lawbreakers By John & Nisha Whitehead September 8, 2022 Share The American kleptocracy (a government ruled by thieves) continues to suck the American people down a rabbit hole into a parallel universe in which the Constitution is meaningless, the government is all-powerful and the citizenry is powerless to defend itself against government agents who steal, spy, lie, plunder, kill, abuse and generally inflict mayhem and sow madness on everyone and everything in their sphere. Think about it. Almost every tyranny being perpetrated by the U.S. Government against the citizenry - purportedly to keep us safe and the nation secure - has come about as a result of some threat manufactured in one way or another by our own government. Cyberwarfare. Terrorism. Bio-chemical attacks. The nuclear arms race. Surveillance. The drug wars. Domestic extremism. The COVID-19 Pandemic. In almost every instance, the U.S. Government (often spearheaded by the FBI) has in its typical Machiavellian fashion sown the seeds of terror domestically and internationally in order to expand its own totalitarian powers. You see, the U.S. Government isn’t protecting us from terrorism. The U.S. Government is creating the terror. It is, in fact, the source of the terror. Consider that this very same government has taken every bit of technology sold to us as being in our best interests - GPS devices, surveillance, nonlethal weapons, etc. - and used it against us, to track, control and trap us. So why is the government doing this? For money, power and total domination. We’re not dealing with a government that exists to serve its people, protect their liberties and ensure their happiness. Rather, these are the diabolical machinations of a make - works program carried out on an epic scale whose only purpose is to keep the powers-that-be permanently (and profitably) employed. Case in point: the FBI. The government’s henchmen have become the embodiment of how power, once acquired, can be so easily corrupted and abused. Indeed, far from being tough on crime, FBI Agents are also among the nation’s most notorious lawbreakers. Whether the FBI is planting undercover agents in Churches, Synagogues and Mosques; issuing fake emergency letters to gain access to Americans’ phone records; using intimidation tactics to silence Americans who are critical of the government, or persuading impressionable individuals to plot acts of terror and then entrapping them, the overall impression of the nation’s secret police force is that of a well-dressed thug, flexing its muscles and doing the boss’ dirty work. This is not a government that appears to understand, let alone respect, the limits of the Constitution. To go after terrorists, they become terrorists. To go after drug smugglers, they become drug smugglers. To go after thieves, they become thieves. It’s hard to say whether we’re dealing with a Kleptocracy (a government ruled by thieves), a Kakistocracy (a government run by unprincipled career politicians, corporations and thieves that panders to the worst vices in our nature and has little regard for the rights of American citizens) or if we’ve gone straight to an idiocracy. This however, certainly isn’t a Constitutional Republic. Some days, it feels like the government is running its own crime syndicate complete with mob rule and mafia-style justice. In addition to creating certain crimes in order to then “solve” them, the FBI—the government’s law enforcement agency—also gives certain informants permission to break the law, “including everything from buying and selling illegal drugs to bribing government officials and plotting robberies,” in exchange for their cooperation on other fronts. USA Today estimates that government agents have authorized criminals to engage in as many as 15 crimes a day (5,600 crimes a year). Some of these informants are getting paid astronomical sums: one particularly unsavory fellow, later arrested for attempting to run over a police officer, was actually paid $85,000 for his help laying the trap for an entrapment scheme. In addition to procedural misconduct, trespassing, enabling criminal activity and damaging private property, the FBI’s laundry list of crimes against the American people includes surveillance, disinformation, blackmail, entrapment, intimidation tactics and harassment. This has become the shadow government’s modus operandi regardless of which party controls the White House: the government creates a menace—knowing full well the ramifications such a danger might pose to the public—then without ever owning up to the part it played in unleashing that particular menace on an unsuspecting populace, it demands additional powers in order to protect “we the people” from the threat. Suffice it to say that when and if a true history of the United States is ever written, it will not only track the rise of the American police state but it will also chart the decline of freedom in America: how a nation that once abided by the rule of law and held the government accountable for its actions has steadily devolved into a police state where justice is one-sided, a corporate elite runs the show, representative government is a mockery, police are extensions of the military, surveillance is rampant, privacy is extinct and the law is little more than a tool for the government to browbeat the people into compliance. Somewhere over the course of the past 240-plus years, democracy has given way to Kleptocracy and the representative government has been rejected in favor of rule by career politicians, corporations and thieves—individuals and entities with little regard for the rights of American citizens. This dissolution of that sacred covenant between the citizenry and the government—establishing “We The People” as the masters and the government as the servants—didn’t happen overnight. It didn’t happen because of one particular incident or one particular president. It is a process, one that began long ago and continues in the present day, aided and abetted by politicians who have mastered the polarizing art of how to “divide and conquer.” As I point out in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People and in its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, our freedoms have become casualties in an all-out war on the American people. - A Second 'Home" For Senior Citizens: Memorial Program Gives Elderly a Place to Go and Reasons to Connect
A Second 'Home" For Senior Citizens: Memorial Program Gives Elderly a Place to Go and Reasons to Connect August 10, 2023 Share It’s easy to overlook the Boulevard Heights Community Center. It’s a nondescript building on a residential side street in a west Hollywood neighborhood, the kind of place that easily blends in with its surroundings. But, for Elizabeth Frantzen, it’s “home,” and what goes on inside its walls is critical to her health and well-being. The Hollywood senior citizen is part of Memorial Healthcare System’s A.L.L.I.E.S (Adults Live Life Independently, Educated, and Safe) program that meets each weekday at Boulevard Heights. She goes so far as to credit the people and services she receives with helping her out of a deep depression after her son’s accidental death. “Depression and loneliness are common feelings for our seniors,” said Tim Curtin, Executive Director for Community Services at Memorial Healthcare System. “We provide opportunities that get them out of their homes and into a place that exercises their brains, bodies, and spirit.” Curtin says Memorial knew seniors and their mental health were especially vulnerable during COVID-19, with some doing little more than watching TV during the pandemic. At that time, Memorial organized appropriately-distanced gatherings at T.Y. Park to provide a respite from the isolation most were feeling. The positive effect during a difficult time empowered Memorial to supercharge an existing seniors’ program to maximize its impact. Daily activities at the community center now include health-focused presentations, ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) classes, mental health services, exercise and fitness instruction, cognitive games, and arts & crafts opportunities. The healthcare system has partnered with Broward County Transit’s TOPS program to provide transportation and Meals on Wheels for daily lunches. On some days, as many as 100 seniors receive services and participate in activities. “This is a place they can go to see friends, learn new things, and get exercise they wouldn’t otherwise be interested in doing,” said Carmen Marin, a team leader at Memorial Healthcare System. “When they return home, they do with a smile on their face and happy that there was a purpose to their day.” The nonprofit Memorial Foundation, in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Broward County, has been underwriting the expenses of the A.L.L.I.E.S Program for more than five years. Funding from Memorial in the last year alone was more than $300,000 and includes the salaries of full-time employees, support staff, and supplies needed each day at the community center. “The feedback we’ve received from both the staff and participants makes it clear we’re changing lives. We’re thankful for our generous donors that enable us to fund this effort year after year,” said Kevin Janser, President of the Memorial Foundation. It’s an undertaking that continues to pay dividends for people like Nubia Martin, a senior that first connected with Memorial’s community services in 2014. “This program has made me much better mentally, healthy, and I love the community they’ve been able to put together,” she said. “It’s been a wonderful experience.” < Previous News Next News >

At least 40% of children have little or no swimming ability, a figure which rises to 64% among some minority groups. In addition, for every child who loses their life to drowning, another five receive emergency department care for nonfatal submersion injuries. The Y’s swimming programs are paramount because formal swimming lessons reduce the likelihood of childhood drowning by 88%. Annually, more than 50,000 children and adults are taught drowning prevention and water safety techniques at the YMCA of South Florida. Many of these lessons are funded through the Y’s Aquatic Financial Assistance Program, making them accessible to all. The Y has an eight-lesson drowning prevention program, where children learn to be safe in and around the water. The Y’s Mobile Aquatics program also travels to low-income neighborhoods to teach water safety to children and their caregivers. The Everglades Outdoor Classroom is a companion to the recently launched Nature Explore: Outdoor Exhibit at MODS in Fort Lauderdale. Together, these two sites create a dual-campus experience that highlights Broward County’s native ecosystems and supports environmental awareness across South Florida. “By connecting communities through conservation, the Everglades Outdoor Classroom serves as a living laboratory where children and families can discover the beauty and importance of the Everglades,” said Keith Clark, CEO of Flamingo Gardens. “This initiative represents a shared commitment to preserving Florida’s natural heritage while empowering the next generation of environmental stewards.” Set within the lush grounds of Flamingo Gardens, the Everglades Outdoor Classroom features hands-on learning zones where guests can investigate Everglades habitats, learn about native and invasive species, explore the interconnectivity of humans with plants and animals in the Everglades ecosystem. The Everglades Outdoor Classroom and the accompanying Nature Explore: Outdoor Exhibit at MODS highlight our vital connection to nature, focusing on the Florida Wildlife Corridor and the effects of urban sprawl on native ecosystems. While MODS explores urban habitats, Flamingo Gardens immerses guests in the rich biodiversity of the Everglades, emphasizing the importance of conservation and habitat protection. Through interpretive signage, hands-on learning activities and the use of natural materials that reflect the landscape, this outdoor space provides a dynamic environment for both facilitated and self-guided exploration. The experience reinforces how backyards and local green spaces serve as critical extensions of the Florida Wildlife Corridor, helping maintain habitat connectivity for native species such as the Florida Panther, Bald Eagle, Butterflies like the Zebra Longwing, Atala and cloudless sulphur, along with plants and other pollinators. “The Everglades Outdoor Classroom is a shining example of how community collaboration and visionary philanthropy can bring transformative educational experiences to life,” said Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., President & CEO, Community Foundation of Broward. “By connecting children and families to the wonder of the Everglades, we’re nurturing a deeper understanding of our environment and inspiring the next generation of conservation leaders. - The Untouchables - The Sexual Predators Within America’s Power Elite | sun-times
The Untouchables - The Sexual Predators Within America’s Power Elite John & Nisha Whitehead - The Rutherford Institute Jul 30, 2025 Once Again, The American Police State Is Choosing To Protect Predators, Not Victims. Jeffrey Epstein—the hedge fund billionaire/convicted serial pedophile and sex trafficker—may be dead, but the machinery that empowered and protected him is still very much alive. You see, the Epstein case was never just about Epstein—it was about the entire edifice of power that shields the ruling class, silences victims, and erases accountability. Thus, the latest about-face declarations from the Trump administration—that Epstein had no client list, that he did in fact kill himself, and that there’s nothing more to discuss or investigate so we should just move on—have only reinforced what many have suspected all along: the system is rigged in order to protect the power elite because the power elite are the system. In this age of partisan politics and a deeply polarized populace, corruption—especially when it involves sexual debauchery, depravity and predatory behavior—has become the great equalizer. With the reemergence of Jeffrey Epstein’s ghost in the public discourse, we are once again reminded of just how deep the rot goes. Politics, religion, entertainment, business, law enforcement, the military—it doesn’t matter the arena or affiliation: all are riddled with the kind of seedy, depraved behavior that gets a free pass when it involves the powerful. For years, the Epstein case has stood as a grotesque emblem of the depravity within America’s power elite: billionaires, politicians, and celebrities who allegedly trafficked in sex with young girls while insulated from accountability. It is believed that Epstein, who died in jail after being arrested on charges of molesting, raping and sex trafficking dozens of young girls, operated a sex trafficking ring not only for his own personal pleasure but also for that of his friends and business associates. According to The Washington Post, “several of the young women…say they were offered to the rich and famous as sex partners at Epstein’s parties.” Despite the government’s insistence there’s nothing more to see, here’s what the public record already reveals: • Epstein ferried his friends about on his private plane, nicknamed the “Lolita Express” after the Nabokov novel, due to the presence of what appeared to be underage girls on board. • Both Bill Clinton and Donald Trump were counted among Epstein’s friends. • Both Clinton and Trump were at one time passengers on the Lolita Express. • Both Clinton and Trump are renowned womanizers who have been accused of sexual impropriety by a significant number of women over the years. In fact, The Rutherford Institute represented Paula Jones in her landmark sexual harassment lawsuit against then-President Clinton—a case that helped expose how far the political establishment will go to shield its own. So you have to wonder ... when President Trump, who has used his administration’s war on human trafficking to justify expanding the government’s police state powers, quietly dismantles the very government agencies tasked with investigating and exposing sex trafficking... What exactly is going on? The message from the top is clear: there will be no accountability. This isn’t justice. It’s a double standard—one set of rules for the untouchables, and another for everyone else. If it looks like a cover-up, smells like a cover-up, and appears to benefit all the usual suspects, is it so far-fetched to suspect that the government is once again closing ranks to protect the members of its power elite? We’ve seen it before: from the CIA’s MK-Ultra experiments and the FBI’s COINTELPRO operations to CIA black sites and NSA mass surveillance. Each time, secrecy protected the powerful and betrayed the people. And it will keep happening—again and again—unless we confront the truth hiding in plain sight: that abuse of power is not an aberration of the system—it is the system. Nowhere is that more apparent than in the shadow economy of sex trafficking, where power, profit, and predation converge. This is America’s seedy underbelly. Child sex trafficking—the buying and selling of women, young girls and boys for sex, some as young as 9 years old—has become big business in America. It is the fastest growing business in organized crime and the second most-lucrative commodity traded illegally after drugs and guns. This is the darkness at the heart of the American police state: a system built to shield the powerful from justice. While Epstein’s alleged crimes are heinous enough on their own, he is part of a larger narrative of how a culture of entitlement becomes a cesspool and a breeding ground for despots and predators. Give any one person—or government agency—too much power and allow them to believe that they are entitled, untouchable and will not be held accountable for their actions, and those powers will be abused. We see this dynamic play out every day in communities across America. A cop shoots an unarmed citizen for no credible reason and gets away with it. A president employs executive orders to sidestep the Constitution and gets away with it. A government agency spies on its citizens’ communications and gets away with it. An entertainment mogul sexually harasses aspiring actresses and gets away with it. The U.S. military bombs a civilian hospital and gets away with it. It’s no coincidence that the same administration dismantling offices tasked with fighting human trafficking is also defunding the few agencies left to hold law enforcement accountable. This is how the system works, protecting the untouchables—not because they’re innocent, but because the system has made them immune. Abuse of power—and the ambition-fueled hypocrisy and deliberate disregard for misconduct that make those abuses possible—works the same whether you’re talking about sex crimes, government corruption, or the rule of law. Unless something changes in the way we deal with these ongoing, egregious abuses of power, the predators of the police state will continue to wreak havoc on our freedoms, our communities, and our lives. For too long now, Americans have tolerated an oligarchy in which a powerful, elite group of wealthy donors is calling the shots. We need to restore the rule of law for all people, no exceptions. The rule of law means no one gets a free pass—no matter their wealth, status, or political connections. As I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People and in its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, the empowerment of petty tyrants and political gods must end.
