  • Rule By a Few: Real Americans and the American Oligarchy

Rule By a Few: Real Americans and the American Oligarchy By Marilyn M. Singleton, M.D., J.D. March 31, 2022 Share ol·i·gar·chy: a small group of people having control of a country, organization or institution. Driving across our country makes one appreciate this glorious and (dare I say) exceptional country. The diverse landscapes are a feast for the eyes. Food for the soul is the affirmation that most Americans love their families, treasure America and enjoy their fellow Americans whether they be white, black or somewhere in between. Daily, the media dutifully informs us that coastal and urban residents about gender fluidity, diversity training and decarbonizing energy systems to avert the coming environmental Armageddon. When the media could not flog us with a juicy COVID-19 tragedy, they resurrected a tired but effective angst-inducing headlines about the imminent big earthquake. Why would the media-government complex want to demoralize its citizens and have them live in fear and anxiety even when a “crisis” has been resolved? To make them rely on the government, rather than themselves for their day to day needs. To steer them from respecting the Democratic Republic formed by our Constitution to accepting Government Control of their lives. Fear lays the groundwork for unquestioning compliance. Federal and State Governments have used the COVID-19 Pandemic as a justification to cross the line from public safety measures into tyranny. Despite the decreasing COVID-19 Cases, the National COVID-19 Emergency Declaration was extended beyond March 1st, 2022. The National Emergency Designation gives the President more than 100 special powers that can bypass legal procedures ranging from banking to public health and anything else the Government wants to control. Despite a long tradition of differing opinions regarding medical disease processes and treatments, the Government has discouraged such discussions regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic. First, the Surgeon General simply asked us to help stop “misinformation” because it “pollutes our information environment.” A few short months later, the Feds are demanding that Social Networks, Search Engines, Crowdsourced Platforms, E-Commerce Platforms and Instant Messaging Systems send Data and Analysis on the prevalence of COVID-19 misinformation on their sites. Translation: divergent opinions will be censored once the Government discovers how to do so. What happened to our respect for the marketplace of ideas? If tracking our computer use doesn’t work, we have the National Patient ID, a single number issued by the Federal Government containing all of the details of a person's Medical Records from cradle to grave. The concept has been around for more than 25 years as part of HIPAA. However, Congress banned itself from funding such an undertaking. In 2019, Congress lifted the funding ban despite the very real possibility that a National Patient ID could allow for large-scale tracking of Americans through their Healthcare Records. What happened to the Confidential Patient-Physician Relationship based on trust and privacy? Such Government Overreach and Intrusion are becoming commonplace. We are perilously close to losing “The Government Of The People, By The People And For The People.” Our Government is increasingly populated with close-minded lifelong Bureaucrats like Dr. Anthony Fauci and the influential career Politicians who are hardly the working man’s heroes like Nancy “let them eat ice cream” Pelosi. Universities—grooming our future leaders—have become politically imbalanced and intolerant of open discourse. We hear about how the evil Russian and Ukrainian Oligarchs who profited from Political Unrest are pulling the strings of their Governments. We are trending toward our own Classic Oligarchy, the rule by a few. We have our own wealthy ideologies who have transitioned from mere annoying elitists into toxic powerbrokers promoting their own agendas. Notables include: Mark Zuckerberg (Meta/Facebook), Jeff Bezos (Amazon, Washington Post), Bill Gates (Microsoft), George Soros (Open Society Foundation). Meanwhile, runaway inflation is making it harder for Americans to afford basic necessities. Filling one’s automobile with gas is now an exercise in emotional and financial misery. The reaction of Secretary of Transportation Buttigieg and Vice President Harris are indicative of their disdain for the average American. Can't afford gas? Buy a $45,000 electric car. This dismissive rhetoric does not comport with reality. In 2020, there were 286.9 million cars in the US with 1 million electric vehicles. Moreover, the electric grid absolutely could not support a sudden influx of electric vehicles, given the brown-outs across the country in winter and summer. This political and powerful class of people want to change the way we live and think—whether we like it or not. We will never have as much money to buy Political influence as do the American Oligarchs. But we do have our voices. Parents are speaking up about their Schools’ Curricula and toxic overtly Racist Policies that perversely Segregate Students by skin color and Laws that bypass parental input into their children’s medical decisions. Physician office practices are changing to meet the needs of patients, not Insurance and Pharmaceutical Companies. Physicians who have fought for open medical discussions about Vaccine Safety and Efficacy are leaving their mark. CDC Director Walensky finally publicly admitted that the COVID-19 Vaccines do not stop transmission of the Virus. Many physicians have gone from looking at their unvaccinated patients in horror to “I respect your choice.” The Oligarchs do not represent the real America. It’s up to us to carry on the legacy of American heroes who thought for themselves and bucked the system. • A Sign of The Times: An Unexpected Cost of $6,500 Would Put Most Florida Homeowners Into Debt

A Sign of The Times: An Unexpected Cost of $6,500 Would Put Most Florida Homeowners Into Debt June 16, 2022 Share Home Ownership is a Dream many Americans pursue with great desire, vigor and of course, a Tight Budget above all. For many the rate of inflation has but home ownership out of reach or made their monthly budget much tighter than expected. Any Homeowner will have learned that Unforeseen Costs are part of a Package Deal when it comes to maintaining a Property, however, sometimes these costs can rack up thousands in Monetary Value. If these Funds are not readily available (even though they're impossible to predict), it may mean Owners having to take out a Loan or try to fork out savings to meet these Unexpected Property Regulation Costs. After a challenging two years of a Pandemic-Affected Economy, this could render Property Owners in serious Debt. A Survey of 4,076 Homeowners and Landlords by: www.DeckandBalconyInspections.com revealed that, on average, Florida Homeowners said $6,500 in Unexpected Property Regulation Costs would put them into Financial Debt. Considering some Maintenance Fees can rack up several thousands - depending on the size of the Home - this figure might not even be the worst case scenario. The Survey also asked Landlords if they feel there should be a Federal Law introduced to protect them against Surprise Property Regulations that could Cost a Significant Value in Maintenance. Over 4 in 5 (83%) Landlords in Florida believe that a Federal Law should be implemented to protect them from Unexpected Regulations that could Cost Thousands in Property Maintenance Fees. At first glance, it might seem preposterous for Landlords to demand Federal Protection from Unforeseen Costs, but digging deeper into the issue, they may have two solid arguments at their disposal. As of Saturday, January 1st, 2022, the ‘No Surprises Act’ came into effect. This Federal Law protects people covered under Group and Individual Health Plans from receiving Surprise Medical Bills for things like Emergency Services, even if these Services were Out-Of-Network and received without Prior Authorization. But, as aforementioned, Expensive Medical Bills are not the only costs with which people may be unexpectedly hit: for example, in 2015, California Authorities introduced a new ‘Balcony Inspection Law’ (following a Tragic Balcony Collapse in Berkeley). This Law, which came into effect in 2019, states that certain Structures with Wood Balconies, Decks, Stairs and Walkways will require a Deep Dive Inspection for Safety Purposes and Owners have until January 1st, 2025 to complete all Initial Inspections. While these Laws are, of course, necessary for Safety and Security Reasons, Landlords and Homeowners also risk the potential of running into Thousands of Dollars in Property Maintenance Fees. Those who Own Properties near the Ocean or in more Wet Winter Weather Conditions have a higher chance of being hit with these Costs, given the Increased chance of Property Damage due to these Factors. Moreover, with Climate Change having a strong influence in Extreme Weather such as: Natural Disasters and Unpredictable Storms, it is likely that Homeowners and Landlords in The Sunshine State will be burdened with Increased Costs to make their Properties more Resistant to Climate Change-Related Factors – something they argue that they are not responsible for. Therefore, it makes sense why over 1 in 3 (32%) Aspiring Landlords who were surveyed, admit the prospect of Climate Change-Related Property Costs dissuades them from doing so. Owning a Property comes with vast responsibility and when there are Tenants involved, there can be Hidden Costs involved such as Repairs to: Damages, Leakages, Electrical Faults and other Unpredictable Frustrations. Nearly 1 in 3 (30%) of Landlords said they’ve personally been hit by Substantial Surprise Costs for a Property that they Own. The Survey also found that 78% of Current Landlords said if they got hit with a Surprise Bill of Over $20,000, they couldn’t afford to cover the Costs without going into Debt. In fact, 43% of Homeowners and Landlords said they think the Government should cover all Costs should Climate Change-Related Regulations about Property Maintenance be introduced into Law. ‘The risks of Climate Change are, unfortunately, both unavoidable and unpredictable,’ says Dan Cronk, Owner & CEO of: www.DeckandBalconyInspections.com . ‘When it comes to Maintaining Properties, it’s important to keep Up-To-Date in Terms of Inspections, so as to reduce the chances of running into any Unexpected Fees along the way.’ < Previous News Next News >

  • 5 Steps Students Can Take Toward Entrepreneurial Careers | sun-times

5 Steps Students Can Take Toward Entrepreneurial Careers By Family Features Oct 22, 2025 Entrepreneurship Is A Career Goal For Many Working Adults. Autonomy And Personal Satisfaction Are Just A Couple Of The Benefits Of Running Your Own Business. It's a professional path about 3 in 5 teens would prefer over a traditional job, according to a survey by Junior Achievement (JA). Running a successful company depends on multiple factors, including a solid business plan, adequate startup resources and a receptive market, as well as a strong sense of responsibility, work ethic and ability to persevere under pressure. Beginning to shape the skills and mindset necessary to flourish as an entrepreneur can begin well before entering the workforce. In fact, even students in junior high and high school can begin working toward entrepreneurial goals with these tips from JA, a NonProfit that inspires and prepares young people by delivering lessons in financial literacy, work and career readiness. 1. Select Electives Wisely Students don't have to wait until they're in college to begin developing business skills and knowledge. If they have the ambition and drive to become an entrepreneur, they may find it beneficial to complement the classes needed for graduation requirements with electives that allow them to explore their interest in the business world. Some examples include accounting, marketing, finance, economics, psychology and computer science. 2. Make Part-Time Work Meaningful Many students enter the workforce in high school to start practicing money management and contribute to expenses like gas and car insurance. While most jobs available to students are service oriented and fall outside the business world, it doesn't hurt to explore options that put students closer to their entrepreneurial ambitions. For example, local small businesses may be willing to hire someone eager to learn. 3. Take Part in Programs Kids can challenge themselves by putting their knowledge into practice as real-world entrepreneurs. For example, JA's Company Program is an immersive program that fosters creativity, critical thinking and business acumen, offering students unique opportunities to explore the world of business and economics by creating real companies. Participants learn to present their business plans and results during competitions that offer learning opportunities. Additionally, at the Future Bound competition which is made possible through the support of businesses including Chick-fil-A, Delta Air Lines, Pacific Life Foundation and Staples, participants took part in seminars and mentorship. The event featured four programs that empower students with entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills - the Company of the Year National Competition, the Social Innovation Challenge, the Titan National Competition and the National Stock Market Challenge. 4. Seek a Strong Mentor Some of the best learning comes from emulating others who are successful in their fields. Meeting regularly with someone who serves as a role model can help students sharpen their vision for the future and learn from the experiences that propelled professionals into their current positions. 5. Define a Future Vision Creating an inspiration board can help motivated students compile and organize ideas. This board, whether physical or digital, can serve as a source of inspiration and help motivate students to identify and overcome obstacles while working toward bringing their visions for careers as entrepreneurs to life. Find more ideas to help students gain confidence and skills for future education and careers, and learn more about the competitions at: https://jausa.ja.org/ Photo courtesy of Shutterstock Previous Next
