- The Time Has Come For Rosemary's Miami: Highly-Anticipated NYC Mainstay Opening To The Public On Friday, February 7th
The Time Has Come For Rosemary's Miami: Highly-Anticipated NYC Mainstay Opening To The Public On Friday, February 7th February 6, 2025 Share The much-anticipated opening for Rosemary’s Wynwood has arrived! The beloved Italian neighborhood restaurant from New York City will open in the heart of Wynwood located at 322 Northwest 25th Street, Miami, Florida 33127 on Friday, February 7th, 2025. The brainchild of Casa Nela Hospitality Group Founder/Owner Carlos Suarez, Rosemary’s Miami is a bit of a homecoming for the Cuban-English restaurateur, whose family called Miami home for close to 20 years. “The foundation of the Rosemary’s concept is comfort, a space to step out of your busy life for a moment and enjoy delicious food at affordable prices in a place that evokes the feel of the Italian countryside.” To that end, and much like its northern predecessor, Rosemary’s Wynwood is firmly planting its roots by repurposing a single-story shoe warehouse and adjacent empty lot, transforming them into a lush oasis for al fresco dining, set amidst an urban farm inspired by the Tuscan countryside, developed in partnership with Miami’s Little River Cooperative. In fact, partnerships and collaborations with hometown heroes and organizations such as Little River Cooperative is a foundational aspect of the Rosemary’s brand. No doubt, Rosemary’s Wynwood will deliver a thoughtful and elevated dining experience rooted in sustainability and locally sourced ingredients while reminding the wider community that great design and food can be approachable. At the helm in Miami is Executive Chef Craig Giunta, whose impressive vitae includes Mother Wolf, Concours Club, and Macchialina. At Rosemary’s, Giunta will focus on locally sourced ingredients – many of which will be grown in the restaurant’s garden, emulating the West Village location’s famed rooftop farm. The menu – echoing Rosemary’s deep-rooted connection to the land – will showcase a variety of seasonal vegetables, handmade pastas, and fresh seafood. Diners can expect an array of Focaccia, along with house favorites such as Eggplant Caponata with Roasted Vegetables, Pine Nuts and Agrodolce; Orecchiette with House-Made Sausage, Broccoli Rabe, Fresno Chili and Parmigiano; and Chopped Salad “Siciliana” with Escarole, Olives, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Artichokes, Crispy Chickpeas, Ricotta Salata and Almonds. For dessert, guests can indulge in the popular Olive Oil Cake, Tiramisu and Bombolini with Nutella Crema. A creative cocktail list will offer Italian Spritzes, zero-proof libations, and twists on the classics. The Wine List will feature Italian Wines, curated to complement the menu. Rosemary’s is named after Suarez’s mother and pays tribute to her delicious, made-with-love home-cooked meals and the vegetable garden she tends in Lucca, Italy. It was the glow of these memories that sowed the seeds for what would become Rosemary’s – a restaurant that evokes the spirit of a family dining room warmed by the craft and the affection emanating from the kitchen. Combining a relaxed, botanical design, polished yet hospitality-focused service style, and delicious, reasonably-priced food, Rosemary’s is the type of neighborhood restaurant any neighborhood wants and deserves. Designed by NYC interior design firm Dekar Design, who created all seven Casa Nela restaurants, the 7,000 square foot indoor-outdoor space weaves rustic charm with modern touches. Rosemary’s will open to the public on Friday, February 7th, 2025. Address: 322 Northwest 25th Street in Wynwood, Florida 33127. Dinner: 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Daily. Lunch, Brunch, and Happy Hour coming soon. - Sunny Isles Beach Bash: Celebrating 26 Years Of Sun, Sand, and Community
Sunny Isles Beach Bash: Celebrating 26 Years Of Sun, Sand, and Community June 8, 2023 Share Sunday, June 11th, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. marks a significant milestone for the vibrant coastal city of Sunny Isles Beach. The city is a jewel nestled along the stunning Atlantic coastline, this picturesque paradise is set to celebrate its 26th anniversary since its incorporation as a city. As residents and visitors alike prepare to commemorate this momentous occasion, let's take a journey through the rich history of Sunny Isles Beach. Originally known as "North Miami Beach" until 1931 and Sunny Isles until 1997, Sunny Isles Beach was once a stretch of swampy land covered in mangroves. It wasn't until the early 20th century that the area began to transform. In 1920, a private investor named Harvey Baker Graves purchased the land, and his vision sparked the first wave of development. Graves' dream was to create a resort town that would rival the beauty and charm of the French Riviera, and thus, Sunny Isles Beach was born. In the following decades, Sunny Isles Beach experienced a series of ups and downs. It witnessed a real estate boom during the 1950's and 1960's, attracting numerous vacationers to its shores. Luxury hotels and motels, such as the renowned Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort, emerged along Collins Avenue, earning Sunny Isles Beach the nickname "The Venice of America." However, economic recessions and hurricanes posed challenges for the city. Sunny Isles Beach had to reinvent itself to overcome these obstacles and fulfill its potential as a world-class destination. The transformation began in the late 1980's when a group of visionary developers recognized the untapped potential of the area. These developers embarked on a mission to revitalize Sunny Isles Beach, introducing a wave of modern high-rise condominiums that offered breathtaking ocean views and top-notch amenities. The city quickly earned a reputation as a premier luxury destination, attracting residents from around the world. On June 16th, 1997, Sunny Isles Beach officially incorporated as a city, marking a new chapter in its history. This milestone provided the community with greater autonomy and control over its future. Under the leadership of Mayor Norman S. Edelcup, the city council worked tirelessly to enhance the quality of life for residents, improve infrastructure, and cultivate a strong sense of community. Over the years, Sunny Isles Beach has continued to thrive, blending its rich heritage with contemporary allure. The city's skyline is now dotted with iconic architectural marvels, including the Trump International Beach Resort and the Porsche Design Tower. These landmarks have become synonymous with luxury and opulence, attracting tourists and investors from around the globe. - Surfside Tragedy: What Now?
Surfside Tragedy: What Now? By Rabbi Moishe Kievman - Chabad Chayil July 1, 2021 Share Above: Rabbi Noach Bernstein and Chabad Chayil volunteers Motty Sternberg & Sholom Brashavitzsky together with Rescue Workers in Surfside The horror that unfolded early Thursday morning when a large portion of the beachside condominium building in Surfside suddenly collapsed is unfathomable. On Thursday, when Wolf Blitzer from CNN asked Chabad’s Rabbi Sholom Ber Lipskar, who's the spiritual leader of The Shul of Bal Harbor & Surfside, on live television: “As a man of faith, how do you try to understand and explain something as horrific as this?” “You can’t explain it, so let’s start from there,” Rabbi Lipskar answered. “There is no rationality for it…” He described the shocking situation as a surreal space with hundreds of people waiting for “the ultimate judgement” of life and death of their loved ones. “There is hope in the air, but it’s a strange kind of feeling.” This past Shabbat, we had the honor of hosting a couple that was in the part of the building that did not fall, at the time of the tragedy. They benched gomel, which is a special blessing made when surviving a catastrophic danger. At the Kiddush lunch following services, they elaborated on their experience and of those dreadful 40 minutes it took them to escape to safety, in the darkness of night, not even knowing what they were running from. While hundreds of rescue workers and local volunteers work around the clock to save lives and support the survivors and relatives, there is just confusion and sadness for the rest of us. Is there a way we can process this so that we are not paralyzed by fear of the unknown? The Torah portion of the week the tragedy took place, records the story of how two evil anti-Semites sought to destroy the Jewish people. Balak king of Moav hired a prophet named Bilaam to annihilate the Jews with a curse. Bilaam’s curses had destroyed mighty nations before and he was delighted to focus his deadly power on the people he hated most. This was the only time the Jews were in mortal danger without knowing it. All other enemies confronted us directly and we dealt with them either through negotiations, battle or by praying for a miracle. But this time the Jews were oblivious to the pro-blem and unaware of the great miracles that saved them. This story teaches us that there's alot going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about; way more than we can control and manipulate on our own. Trusting in G-d - known in Hebrew as bitachon - means realizing that even when we feel safe, secure and in control, it is G-d who is truly running the show. As we must always do our very best naturally, we must always know that our success is ultimately in G-d’s hands. In person and on national television, Rabbi Sholom Ber Lipskar has echoed the words of The Rebbe, who rejected any and all explanations for tragedy. In the aftermath of a 1956 terror attack in Israel, the Rebbe insisted that while “we should not allow ourselves to” sink into depression or helplessness, there were no words, spiritual or otherwise, that can give reason to the loss. “There are few words that could give anybody consolation because you are dealing with an unimaginable, horrific tragedy that struck in the middle of the night,” said Rabbi Lipskar. He added that “we live with consistent and constant hope … but at the same time, we have to get used to the fact that the soul has eternal existence.” As we grieve for the loss of so many and hope and pray for many miracles to come, don’t be paralyzed by fear of the unknown because G-d is with us every step of the way - even if it feels irrational. The Rebbe emphasized that each of us have immense G‑dly potential to change the world, and when we are met with darkness and destruction we need to remember that we each have it within ourselves to be an agent for positive change. In this moment of darkness, we must all seek to bring more G‑dly light into a world that desperately needs it. Let’s not underestimate the power of a Mitzvah. Each of us being more kind to one another. Jewish women should light Shabbat candles on Friday before sundown. Jewish Men should put on Tefillin. Be sure to have a kosher Mezuzah on your doorpost and have a dedicated charity box in your home for daily giving. If you are not sure if your Mezuzah is Kosher, please contact us, so we have a Sofer - Certified Scribe, inspect it to make sure it is still okay. And there are so many other Mitzvahs one can do (see Chabad https://www.chabadchayil.org/mitzvah for ideas). The good deeds we do consistently help us nurture a stronger trust in G-d so we can confidently move forward bringing more hope, light and joy to our world, preparing it for the era of Moshiach when peace and tranquility will reign for all. Please continue praying for those still trapped, as well as their family and friends. The complete list of names is available at https://jewishflorida.news May G-d bless the rescue workers and their families. Those who put their life on the line every day, for people they don’t even know. I would like to especially thank the volunteer members of Hatzalah and other groups that flew in from Israel and so many other places, just to help fellow human beings. There are also so many local people who are not professional helpers, but came together to bring clothing and other essentials to survivors and family members waiting for news on their loved ones. It’s heartwarming to see so many people that gave money and time and whatever they can to help! May you never know of any such challenges. And may G-d bless each and every one of you with good health, happiness, nachas, prosperity and only good things. May you always be on the giving end. About the author: Rabbi Kievman together with his wife are the ambassadors of The Rebbe to Highland Lakes, FL. They are the founders of CHAP - an afterschool program for Jewish children in Public Schools and direct Chabad Chayil. He’s the rabbi at The Family Shul and can be reached at (305) 770-1919 or rabbi@ChabadChayil.org . < Previous News Next News >

- Bonding With Your Four-Legged Friend
Bonding With Your Four-Legged Friend By Family Features May 15, 2024 Share Your dog may be one of your best friends, but that bond doesn't happen overnight. Investing in quality one-on-one time can have a big impact on the bond you build with your four-legged companion. One of the best ways to show dogs love is by keeping them healthy and spending quality time with them. Dedicating time every day to your dog's well-being can help establish a connection, give you opportunities to express affection and foster shared bonding moments. Training Teaching your dog obedience isn't just about eliminating undesirable behaviors. Training allows you to clearly communicate your expectations to your dog. It also builds your dog's confidence through positive feedback received after mastering a command or new trick. Most dogs thrive on meeting their owners' expectations, so consistent commands they can recognize and follow help deepen your connection. Another way to build trust through behavior training is establishing regular routines. Giving your dog a clear set of expectations helps build mutual trust. You can create routines around the key milestones of each day, such as mealtimes, walks and bedtime. Grooming Some pets love bathtime; others avoid it at all costs. Either way, you can make the experience more rewarding for you and your pet if you use it as an opportunity to spend some quality time together and shower your pet with extra affection. Many pets are especially sensitive to grooming near their eyes, but keeping the eyes clean and free of dirt and buildup may help reduce the risk of infection, reduce tear stains and support your dog's eye health. Consider options like Project Watson eye wash for dogs, which comes in an easy-to-use bottle with a tip that allows for a steady stream of solution to use alone or by soaking a clean washcloth. Made with naturally inspired, high-quality ingredients, the eye wash is designed to match the pH of a dog's eye and help remove dried mucus, foreign materials, pollen and other irritants. Between grooming sessions, you can also clean your dog's eyes with eyelid wipes. The wipes, which are part of the Project Watson line of dog care products developed by the experts at Bausch + Lomb and evaluated by veterinarians, are formulated with micellar technology that cleanses and hydrates around the eyes while helping remove excess buildup associated with irritated, dry eyes. The gentle formula is paraben free, pH-balanced and fragrance free, made to mimic the ingredients found in natural tears and provide a soothing, gentle cleaning. Exercise Your dog needs daily exercise, just like you. Make your workouts do double duty by taking your dog along for a walk or jog. Just be sure to match your workout level to your pet's abilities; just like humans, dogs need to build up endurance before tackling an extended route. Also be mindful of the terrain and ensure your pet's paws are safe from potential risks like sharp or abrasive surfaces and extreme heat or cold. Down Time While dogs need plenty of practical attention and structure, some of the best bonding comes from letting loose and simply enjoying interacting with your pooch. That might mean wrestling with a favorite toy, throwing a ball or just snuggling on the couch with plenty of petting and scratches. For more suggestions to keep your four-legged friend happy and healthy, speak with your veterinarian or visit: http://tryprojectwatson.com < Previous News Next News >
- Quick And Easy Dishes From Around The Globe
Quick And Easy Dishes From Around The Globe Family Features March 10, 2023 Share One of the best parts of traveling is trying the local cuisine and that's particularly true on an international scale. No matter where you go around the globe, however, there is one ingredient you'll likely find is an integral part of many cultures and cuisines: Rice! Grown on almost every continent, this staple ingredient is a large part of meals around the world, which means there are nearly endless varieties and recipes to try. However, you don't need to go on vacation to try authentic-tasting international food; easy-to-make versions of popular dishes from around the globe can be made right at home in mere minutes. Mediterranean Known for vibrant vegetables, savory sauces and incredible tastes, the Mediterranean is also home to a few classic Rice dishes such as rich and creamy Risotto from Italy. Asia If you've ever been to an Asian restaurant, you'll notice a large portion of the menu likely includes recipes made with Rice.
