Sarge, Hotter than Ever

The old adage: laughter is the best medicine has a lot of truth to it and certainly we can all use a laugh right about now. So good news, the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center has a lineup ready to provide that laughter for many months to come. From Comedian Vic DiBitetto, to Sarge, who is “Hotter than Ever”, there is some amazing talent in store over the next few months. If Live Comedy isn’t your thing then there are a variety of other scheduled shows on sale now. From Tapestry: The Carole King Songbook, to Catapult Magic Shadows. The wide variety of shows over the next eight months are going to fill your soul and your heart with joy, something we have missed during the pandemic.

Top of the World: A Carpenters Tribute featuring Debbie Taylor

Following three years of sold out performances at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, Debbie Taylor and Paul Stewart return with Top of the World: A Carpenters Tribute. Taylor’s vocal warmth and tone are exceptionally reminiscent of Karen Carpenter and her seven-piece band brings to life the most authentic versions of memorable hits like “We've Only Just Begun,” “Close to You” and “Rainy Days and Mondays” plus seasonal favorites to kick-off the holidays.

The City of Aventura presents Emmy nominee Michael Londra, the Irish singer best known as the voice of Riverdance on Broadway, as he unwraps Christmas from Ireland told in song, dance and the festive stories of his youth. The show includes heartwarming Irish carols like “Winter, Fire and Snow” and Gaelic versions of Christmas songs you will love such as "Oiche Ciuin" (“Silent Night”) and his own popular carol "Beyond the Star.” Classical Irish musicians join Michael onstage as well as dancers from Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.

Black Box Productions’ Stand Up Comedy Series presents Sarge, the musical piano savant, amazing improvisational comedian and singer. From Radio City Music Hall to Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game to entertaining our nation’s troops overseas, Sarge's side-splitting comedy, touching vocals and stunning display of dexterity as a pianist have wowed crowds for decades. Not only a hysterical stand-up comedian, Sarge sings in his own voice and in a dozen others including Harry Connick Jr., Sammy Davis Jr., Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder. He has performed with many of the biggest names in music including Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin, Paul Anka, The Beach Boys, Taylor Dayne and Donna Summer. The City of Aventura rings in the new year with DIVAS3, three beautiful female singers with powerhouse voices that blend solid, top-notch vocals, backed by a four-piece band. This vibrant show spans four decades covering the ‘60s through the ‘90s with hits by Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Cher, Dolly Parton, Donna Summer, ABBA and many more as it celebrates the greatest divas in music history. Individual members of the group have starred in shows on the Las Vegas Strip and appeared on NBC’s The Voice, The Winner Is and FOX’s American Idol.

From Big Band, Rhythm & Blues, Western Swing, Rockabilly, Doo wop, the teen idol influence, soul, surf, the British invasion and Motown, Shake Baby Shake brings back all the song styles from the birth of rock ‘n’ roll. The City of Aventura presents Jay and the Americans performing their popular hits “This Magic Moment,” “Cara Mia,” “Come a Little Bit Closer,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” “Walkin’ in the Rain,” “Only in America,” “She Cried” and more. With a staggering 18 charted hits and five Top 10 records, few bands ever reached the heights of Jay and the Americans. The Americans features three original members, Sandy Deanne, Marty Sanders and Howie Kane, with Jay Reincke, the powerhouse lead vocalist and Chicago native who has fronted the group for the past 13 years.

The sons of singer/dancer/actor Adrian Zmed and a second-grade teacher, the brothers continuously strive to pay homage to their personal roots by infusing an instinctual blend of entertainment and contextual education in their performance.

Piano Man: A Billy Joel Tribute

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts manages the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, a 14,864-square-foot, 330-seat waterfront complex that hosts performing arts, cultural and educational programming for all ages.

Aventura Arts & Cultural Center has implemented a number of changes to ensure an enjoyable experience. Health & safety guidelines have been developed in conjunction with its management company, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic and have been informed by guidance of public health officials including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These guidelines will be continuing to evolve as the environment changes, and may be accessed on the venue’s website.
