Planning For Tomorrow: Sunny Isles Beach Wants To Hear Your Vision
March 21, 2024
The City of Sunny Isles Beach is embarking on a project to establish a vision for the west side of Collins Avenue. This area has Businesses, Parks, our Top-Rated K-8 Public School, Homes, and Places Of Worship. However, this area is subject to considerable pressure for change.
The City is taking the lead to create a plan for this area. This plan will determine how development projects should be built in the future, including how tall buildings can be, how many homes can be in one place, keeping pedestrians safe, helping businesses thrive and more. This vision plan will then become the official rules of our Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code.
Public input will drive the creation of the vision plan. The first public outreach effort for this project will be the Focus Group meetings. This Focus Group is composed of selected diverse stakeholders selected to represent the community and its vision for the west side of Collins Avenue. The Focus Group will provide their feedback directly at three meetings, the next meeting is scheduled for: Monday, April 15th, 2024, both scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
The Focus Group Meetings will take place in the First Floor Meeting Room at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, located 18070 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160.
Members of the public are invited to attend these meetings and listen to the conversation. All attendees can submit responses via email and on printed response workbooks that mirror the workshop questions.
Members of the public will also have the opportunity to attend two Open Houses. Learn more about the project, and bring your ideas, suggestions and opinions to help shape the vision for the west side of Collins Avenue. The Final Open House is scheduled for: Tuesday, April 9th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
The Open House Meetings will take place in the First Floor Meeting Room at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, located at 18070 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160.
