Head to Downtown Hollywood: Kick off the Holiday Season With Free Family Fun This Weekend

Make plans to spend an evening full of free holiday family fun at the ArtsPark at Young Circle this Friday, November 17th. Arrive early and check out the Visual Arts Pavilion that hosts live glass blowing demonstrations. It’s that time of year - the Annual Tree Lighting takes place at 7:00 p.m. In addition to the tree lighting, the festive evening features holiday music and a special appearance by Santa, Admission is FREE!

Artspark Movie Night
Spread out on the lawn this Friday, November 17th and watch the sequel to “The Santa Clause 2,” where Santa discovers that his run as Father Christmas will end if he doesn’t find Mrs. Claus. Showtime is on the Amphitheater stage at 8:00 p.m.

Downtown Hollywood Artwalk
Start that holiday shopping, grab a bite to eat, or pop into an art gallery while enjoying art, cultural entertainment, live music and the murals at the Downtown Hollywood ArtWalk from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. A FREE Guided Mural Tour begins at 6:00 p.m. at the information tent at the corner of 20th Avenue and Harrison Street. At 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., meet at the information tent and learn the stories behind the art and artists on a Gallery Tour guided by Evan Snow of Choose954.

Live performances on the Main Stage at Harrison Street at 21st Avenue:
• 6:00 p.m.: DJ Tony Tiru
• 8:00 p.m.: The Flyers

The Downtown Hollywood Artisan Market at ArtWalk on Harrison Street between 20th and 21st Avenue, features pop-up shops, artist showcases, handmade items, local purveyors, vintage shopping and fun! At 10 p.m., catch an amazing sleight-of-hand performance by "Magic Jack" Maxwell at Cinema Paradiso at 2008 Hollywood Boulevard.

Downtown Hollywood offers on-street metered parking for $1.50 per hour, as well as municipal garage parking for $1 per hour. Municipal garage location: 251 South 20th Avenue (between Harrison Street and Van Buren Street). Valet parking is available for a $10 flat rate Thursday - Sunday, 5:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m., and is conveniently located in front of 1932 Hollywood Boulevard.
