Family Fun For Everyone: At The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

February 16, 2023

Experience the wonder and excitement of live theater as children’s favorite storybook characters come to thrilling life on stage. An affordable way to introduce youngsters to the magic of musical theater, these family-friendly shows bring families together, spark creativity and engage the imagination as only live theater can.

The Staff at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center recommend planning your travel so that you arrive at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center no later than 45-60 minutes before show time. You should then budget about 15 minutes to park, walk to the theater and clear security. Please be advised that due to enhanced security measures they are asking all ticket holders to arrive early and travel light.

Arriving early also gives you time to relax and enjoy the pre-theater experience. Mingle with friends, enjoy food and drink specials up to 60 minutes prior to the show and settle in. Seating areas open 30 minutes prior to show time.

While going to the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center is certainly a special occasion, there is no required dress code. Some guests enjoy dressing up and making a special night of it and you can too, but most of all we want their guests to be comfortable.

Sunday, February 19th, 2023 - 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m.
The series begins with Aesop’s classic fable of The Tortoise And The Hare but continues the story which finds them 10 years down the road, now with children of their own and exploring modern day distractions. Smart phones and video games create a new landscape of lost connections to life experiences. The Next Gen features Tortoise Junior and Lil’ Hare in a whole new kind of race; where their adventures lead them into unexpected territory. Old Man Tortoise and Big Daddy Hare must come together despite their differences to find and save their children. What hurdles will they have to overcome to make it to the finish line?

With dazzling visuals, poignant storytelling and the creative use of music from classical to pop, this production brings this tale into a new brilliant light.

Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 - 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m.
Stone Soup is a modern musical adaptation of the Eastern European Folk Tale that reinforces the importance of sharing in a truly amusing way. As a young boy embarks on a journey to find food, he encounters zany soldiers and villagers who jealously hoard and hide their food. Before it's over, though, Stone Soup serves up memorable lessons about the power of sharing and the joy it brings to people's lives.
