Jewish Connection News

May 2, 2025

On The Evening Of Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, The Broward Center For The Performing Arts In Fort Lauderdale Will Come Alive With More Than Just Music — It Will Resonate With Unity, Pride, And The Enduring Spirit Of The Jewish People. The First Grand Am Israel Chai Symphonic Music Night Is Set To Be A Cultural Milestone, Bringing Together More Than 2,500 People To Honor Israel’s 77th Anniversary In A Powerful Expression Of Resilience And Identity.

What sets this night apart is not only its scale but its soul. A 50-piece symphony orchestra, conducted by the internationally acclaimed Maestro Angel Mahler, will fill the concert hall with stirring compositions that celebrate the rich tapestry of Jewish and Israeli heritage. Mahler, known for his emotive interpretations and global collaborations, brings a depth of experience that ensures this will be more than a concert — it will be an unforgettable journey through sound and story.

This inaugural event is proudly supported by a broad coalition of community partners, including the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, the Consulates of Israel and Argentina, and the Cities of Aventura, Hollywood, Sunny Isles Beach, and Bal Harbour. Their participation, along with that of over 30 Jewish and pro-Israel organizations and synagogues, underscores the collective commitment to celebrating Jewish continuity, culture, and community at a time when such unity is more vital than ever.

“We are one. Am Israel Chai.” These words are the heartbeat of this event. In a world often marked by division, the Am Israel Chai Symphonic Night reminds us of the power of music to bridge generations, beliefs, and borders. The music program, while still under wraps, promises to feature classic and contemporary works that reflect the beauty, struggles, and triumphs of the Jewish experience. Expect emotional highs, moments of reflection, and an atmosphere charged with pride and hope.

The event also serves as a bridge between cultures. The support of the Argentine Consulate highlights the diverse backgrounds of many South Florida Jewish families and reflects the deep ties between Latin America and the Jewish diaspora. This multicultural spirit will be felt not only in the music but in the very fabric of the audience — a vibrant mosaic of identities and stories, all united by shared values and love for Israel.

For Milena Liascovitz, one of the event’s leading organizers, this night represents more than months of planning — it represents legacy. “This isn’t just about Israel’s 77th Anniversary. It’s about celebrating who we are, where we come from, and where we’re going together,” she says. “Music has always been a way our people carry memory, hope, and strength. On this night, we’ll raise our voices — through instruments, through song, and through the energy in the room — to say that Am Israel lives.”

Attendees can expect a meticulously curated program lasting from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., taking place in one of Florida’s premier cultural venues. Located at 201 Southwest 5th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts offers an elegant setting perfectly suited for the grandeur of the occasion.

More than a performance, the First Grand Am Israel Chai Symphonic Music Night is a celebration of continuity — a resounding declaration that in the face of challenges, the Jewish people remain united, resilient, and vibrant. As the final notes ring out and the audience rises in applause, they won’t just be responding to the orchestra — they’ll be echoing a shared truth, one carried across generations:

We are one. Am Israel Chai.
