Monica’s Runway - Fashion For A Cause Returns This December To Take The Stage Aboard Celebrity Ascent

Monica Taylor, known for her influential work in both fashion and community development, continues to redefine what it means to give back. Her leadership and passion are positioning Monica’s Runway to become one of South Florida’s most anticipated philanthropic events.

Founded on the belief that style can spark change, Monica’s Runway brings together South Florida’s most inspiring women, community leaders, and changemakers for an afternoon that blends high fashion with heartfelt purpose. Guests will experience a day of couture, connection and community impact aboard one of the most stunning ships ever to grace Port Everglades, celebrating the Reading Room’s mission to help students thrive both in and out of the classroom.

“Monica’s Runway is more than a fashion show and luncheon, it’s a movement,” said Monica Taylor. “Every look that walks this runway represents opportunity. Together, we’re opening doors for students who might not otherwise have access to the tools and support they need to succeed.”

Now in its 19th year, the Jason Taylor Reading Room provides a safe, engaging environment where students receive tutoring, mentorship and literacy support after school, all at no cost to families. The program has become a model for academic enrichment in underserved communities, helping hundreds of students improve reading skills, confidence and lifelong learning habits. Proceeds from Monica’s Runway will fund Reading Room resources such as teachers, teachers aids, supplies, books and more that are necessary to deliver the program at its full potential for the students who need it.

Set aboard Celebrity Ascent, the event’s venue embodies the fusion of luxury and purpose, a symbol of South Florida’s forward-thinking, philanthropic spirit. The afternoon will feature curated designer collections, VIP experiences, and a silent auction benefiting the Jason Taylor Foundation.

About The Jason Taylor Reading Room:

The Jason Taylor Reading Room, located at New Renaissance Middle School and presented by StevenDouglas, is a free, comprehensive after-school program designed to address academic challenges among educationally disadvantaged youth, particularly in the area of literacy. Middle school students participate in the program for two hours per day, throughout the school year and are navigated through a rotating academic focus calendar with assistance from a full-time Educational Director, certified teachers and teachers’ aids. The program’s curriculum addresses vocabulary development, reading comprehension, language arts, creative writing skills, oral reading fluency and novel study, as well as ninety minutes of weekly math instruction per grade level. The Reading Room also provides individualized computer assisted learning opportunities and homework support.
