Girl Scouts Of Southeast Florida Hosts STEAMapalooza 2026: Full STEAM Ahead

Girl Scouts Of Southeast Florida Brought Back Its Highly Popular STEAMapalooza Event With A Creative Twist, Incorporating The Arts Into Its Signature Science-Focused Programming. “Full STEAM Ahead” Recently Took Place At The Museum Of Discovery And Science (MODS) In Fort Lauderdale, Offering An Evening Of Discovery, Imagination And Innovation.
The annual event welcomed more than 500 Girl Scouts, MODS members and families from across South Florida for a one-of-a-kind, after-hours experience. Attendees explored real-world skills used by artists and scientists through hands-on activities led by experts across a range of disciplines spanning arts, oceanography, astronomy, robotics, criminology, and so much more.
Activities included animal ambassador presentations and cookie excavations with MODS; binary bracelet-making with Code/Art; stamp-making with Boca Raton Museum of Art; plankton races with Marine Lab; K-9-unit tours with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, Fort Lauderdale Fire Department and Bomb Squad; and robotics demonstrations with Forge 9404. Additional experiences featured science exploration with MAD Science; an archaeology overview with the Palm Beach Museum of Natural History; a recycling challenge with the League of Women Voters; video game design with ComputerXplorers and sea turtle anatomy display and book reading with Author and Girl Scout Emiliana Fuger of Troop 24241.
“At STEAMapalooza, we give girls the confidence and skills to envision themselves in STEAM careers,” said Lisa Johnson, CEO of Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. “This year’s event showcased the endless possibilities available to them and left guests inspired and excited about the future.”
