Moskowitz Helps Lead Bipartisan Jewish American Security Act Jewish Connection News Sep 10, 2026 Today, Congressman Jared Moskowitz (D-FL-23) Helped Lead The Introduction Of The Bipartisan Jewish American Security Act, Legislation To Strengthen Federal Efforts To Combat Antisemitism, Protect Jewish Students, Secure Jewish Institutions, And Address The Spread Of Antisemitic Content Online. The Legislation Is Sponsored By 30 Members Of Congress From Both Parties. The Jewish American Security Act would establish new protections for Jewish students on college campuses, strengthen security programs for synagogues and NonProfit organizations, improve federal tracking of antisemitic incidents, and increase transparency surrounding antisemitic content on large online platforms. “Antisemitism is on the rise across our country, and the federal government has a responsibility to help protect Jewish communities,” said Congressman Moskowitz. “When a man in my district made a plot against my life, I got lucky when authorities prevented it. But unfortunately, not everyone’s story ends the same way. The Jewish American Security Act will strengthen critical security programs for synagogues and NonProfit Organizations while also improving how we address antisemitism online. As more Jewish Americans continue to experience the effects of antisemitic hatred, Congress must act swiftly to pass this bipartisan legislation.” Florida is home to one of the largest Jewish populations in the United States, and Congressman Moskowitz has long understood the stakes firsthand. As Florida’s Director of Emergency Management, he oversaw Security Grant requests from places of worship across the state; and saw repeatedly that there was never enough funding to meet the needs of every institution that applied. The Jewish American Security Act is aimed at closing that gap, helping ensure more houses of worship have the resources they need to stay safe. Moskowitz is a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, where he serves as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Oversight & Intelligence. He is also a member of the House-Knesset Parliamentary Group and has been a leading voice in Congress combating antisemitism and supporting Jewish communities at home and abroad. In the most recent election Moskowitz defeated 34-year old Oliver Larkin, who was endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America. Festival Future - Amid Chaos And Anxiety, 'Festival Of The Future' To Focus On Utopian Future; Bringing Calm To The Present By Rabbi Moishe Kievman - Chabad Chayil May 2, 2025 Amid An Atmosphere Of War, Sickness, And Global Financial Uncertainty, Local Chabad Rabbis Are Leading A Campaign To Raise Awareness Of A Little - Known Jewish Holiday, This Year Dubbed ‘Festival Of The Future,’ Focusing On Bringing A Message Of Hope For The Future And Serenity To The Present. The holiday of Passover — this year began at sundown on Saturday, April 12th, 2025 and ended on Sunday April 20th, 2025 — and its Seder nights are well known — and were observed throughout the great state of Florida with public Seders in almost every city and the distribution of Shmurah Matzah (the Rolls-Royce of matzah) — but the eighth and final day of Passover has its own focus: the utopian future of the Messianic era, when ‘nation shall not lift the sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.’ As the world reels from the devastating effects of conflict, Chabad rabbis throughout the state will lead their Jewish communities in celebrating the future era of peace. During this time of upheaval, it’s crucial that we find ways to bring peace of mind into our lives. On the last day of Passover, our focus shifts from the past redemption of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt to the future redemption and the utopian Messianic era. While we eagerly await this era of global friendship and peace, we can bring its lessons into our lives today. Synagogues everywhere will mark the day by reading the Haftorah and studying the Biblical vision of the Messianic Era, participate in interactive sessions guiding participants in finding ‘Oasis of Calm’ in the current climate. The last day of Passover ("Acharon Shel Pesach") is particularly associated with Moshiach and the future redemption. The Haftarah (reading from the Prophets) for this day is from Isaiah 11, which describes the promised future era of universal peace and divine perfection. Rabbi Yisrael Baal Shem Tov instituted the custom of partaking of a ‘Moshiach's meal’ on the afternoon of the last day of Passover; in addition to the matzah eaten at ‘Moshiach's meal,’ the Rebbes of Chabad added the custom of drinking four cups of wine, as in the seder held on Passover's first days. Local Chabad’s will cap off the day with Seudas Moshiach, a special holiday farewell meal. During this traditional and mystical feast scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday, April 20th, 2025, community members focused on bringing the Messianic message of harmony into their own lives. All are of course were welcome to join us at Chabad Chayil as we closed out the Passover holiday together, enjoying wine, matzah and other Passover goodies, discussing words of Torah with inspirational stories, singing Chassidic melodies and finding out why this day has a special energy related to the coming of Moshiach. There will be a Yizkor Memorial service that Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and the festive inspirational meal was at 6:30 p.m. While our world is still very much an imperfect place, if we look beneath the surface, we can see that we are already on the path towards a more perfect world. Yes, there is still war between nations — but it is condemned by the vast majority of the globe, as peace is valued now more than ever. Yes, there is still illness, but modern medical advances are bringing hope to millions. But as always in Keller’s Korner, I research the Jewish angle and must ask: How did the Jewish players perform at the 2026 WBC? Jewish Players Around the Tournament Team USA – Alex Bregman Alex Bregman of the Chicago Cubs represented Team USA but struggled at the plate, going 2‑for‑14 for a .143 average.
