First Cohort Of Wounded IDF Veterans With PTSD Completes Practical Electronics Engineers Training, Immediately Hired By IAI Jewish Connection News Jul 29, 2026 Israel Sci-Tech Schools (ISTS) Rehovot College Recently Marked A Significant Milestone: The Completion Of The First Cohort Of A Unique Program Training Wounded IDF And Security Forces Veterans - The Majority Of Whom Live With PTSD - As Electronics Engineers, In Partnership With Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) And Atidim. 18 graduates of the program - all wounded IDF and security forces veterans, the majority of whom also carry the invisible wounds of PTSD - completed a 17-month professional training course and will now join the workforce at Israel Aerospace Industries. Their academic achievements rank among the highest recorded at the college in recent years. The program was born out of a deep understanding shared by ISTS Rehovot College, Israel Aerospace Industries, and Atidim: there is a moral obligation to offer a new path forward in life to those who gave everything for their country. What began as an employment initiative became, for the staff who accompanied the students, an undertaking rooted in giving, mutual responsibility, and care. Behind every student in the class was a story of heroism, profound loss, and the invisible, ongoing struggle of living with PTSD. The college quickly understood that this was a unique class, requiring extraordinary investment and sensitivity. Beyond its employment dimension, the coursework served as a critical pillar in each student's personal rehabilitation. Israel Aerospace Industries, in turn, gained skilled, high-quality personnel, while the graduates gained a genuine opportunity to build a stable professional future. Following the tremendous success of the first cohort, ISTS Rehovot College has begun recruiting a second cohort in the same format. Those involved see this as proof that combining social sensitivity with technological excellence is the key to genuine rehabilitation and national growth. Jewish Kids In Europe, Latin America and Asia Highlight Plight Of Hostages In Gaza (JNS Staff Report) Jan 7, 2025 Jewish children across the globe joined together this Chanukah to raise awareness of the Israeli hostages being held by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza since the Hamas led massacre in southern Israel on October 7th, 2023. Children in Latin America, Europe and Asia learned about the hostages’ plight and lit Chanukah candles arranged in the shape of the yellow ribbon that has come to symbolize the captives. The initiative was spearheaded by schools supported by the Yael Foundation, a philanthropic organization working in 35 countries and impacting 13,000 Jewish students. “The suffering of the hostages and their families must be acknowledged and addressed worldwide, especially within the Jewish community. Chanukah, a time deeply rooted in Jewish solidarity, is the perfect occasion to bring attention to this tragic situation,” said Chaya Yosovich, CEO of the Yael Foundation. “As an organization that partners with schools globally, we aim to instill the Jewish value of pidyon shvuyim, the imperative to act for the release of fellow Jews who are captured. This is our way of contributing to one of the most urgent Jewish challenges of our time,” she added. ‘Their hearts remain with those suffering in captivity’ In Odessa, Ukraine, students at the Tikva Children’s Home—an orphanage and school supported by the Yael Foundation—created a heartfelt video. The children, many of whom are refugees from the ongoing war in Ukraine, sang the iconic Hebrew song “HaBayta” (“Back Home”), and formed a human yellow ribbon while waving Israeli flags and holding photos of the hostages. “It is more important than ever to remember the Israeli hostages held by Hamas,” said Refael Kruskal, CEO of the Tikva Children’s Home. “Our students have suffered greatly because of the war in the Ukraine, but their hearts remain with those suffering in captivity in Gaza. Lauder Calls For Creation Of $1 Billion Global News Network - WJC President Says Israel Must Launch A 24/7 Global Communications Effort To Counter Misinformation And Defend Jewish Communities Worldwide Jewish Connection News Jun 18, 2026 Speaking At The Jerusalem Post 2026 New York Conference, Ronald S. Lauder, President Of The World Jewish Congress (WJC), Called For The Establishment Of A New Global News And Public Relations Operation Backed By A $1 Billion Budget And Supported Jointly By Israel And Jewish Communities Around The World. Lauder argued that while Israel has demonstrated exceptional military capabilities, it has failed to adequately compete in the battle for global public opinion. “Israel has been outstanding on the military front,” Lauder said. “But as good as it is militarily, that’s how bad it is on P.R. Israel cannot afford to ignore its public relations.” Calling the communications challenge one of Israel’s most urgent strategic priorities, Lauder urged the creation of a dedicated government operation staffed by experienced media and communications professionals. “There should be a completely new and vitally important government operation, with a new director - not just a political appointee, but someone who knows PR and news backwards and forwards,” he said. Lauder proposed that the initiative operate independently, in a dedicated facility, and function around the clock. “It should be in a separate building, and it should have a billion-dollar budget,” Lauder said. "it should be on day and night.” The World Jewish Congress president emphasized that funding for the effort should come not only from Israel, but also from Jewish communities worldwide. “Some of that billion dollars should come from Jews in the Diaspora,” Lauder said. “Diaspora Jews should partner with Israelis in this PR fight because in the end, it won’t just be protecting the Jewish state - it will be protecting the Jewish people worldwide.” Lauder argued that Israel’s response to misinformation and false narratives must become significantly more aggressive and coordinated. “Israel’s counterattack should be relentless as well,” he said. Questioning the current structure of Israel’s communications efforts, Lauder asked the audience: “Who is in charge of Israel’s P.R.? Can anyone tell me? The answer is really no one.” Lauder’s proposal represents a call for a major new investment in Israel’s global communications capabilities and a new partnership between Israel and Jewish communities worldwide to strengthen the country’s voice on the international stage.
