STEM Preschool Now in Hallandale Beach

This Preschool is like no other and is the first STEM Preschool in Hallandale Beach! The focus of the program is to bring awareness of STEM (Technology, Engineering and Math) to the children of Hallandale Beach and the surrounding cities. "Our goal is to make a norm of STEM in our daily environment which will help to promote STEM jobs in their future.” States Mrs. Charmaine Silvas-Price who is not only the owner of the Academy of Excellence but also the owner of The STEM Factory After School Tutoring Programs & Camps, Inc. However, reading is the foundation of their program for without it as Mrs. Charmaine states nothing can be achieved! "Children enrolled in our program participate in science activities and experiences on a daily basis. STEM is embedded in our program. Even the tiniest child experiences the joys of STEM through many visual tracking activities and sensory experiences for our younger participants.”

After working with many school age children during and after the Pandemic Mrs. Charmaine realized that they were ALL struggling with not only reading but reading comprehension. “I knew that I needed to do something to stop this now LEARNING PANDEMIC! I had to make a difference!” The answer was to reach them, being young children, PRIOR to them starting Kindergarten.” I don’t want any more children to fail!” Reading at The STEM Factory Academy of Excellence starts in their infant room. The goal is to Empower and Ensure that every child 4/5 years old leaving the program and entering Kindergarten has be exposed to STEM and has mastered read and reading comprehension at or above grade level. The program will also offer Spanish and creole lessons as well as dance, Taekwondo and keyboard as a part of their curriculum.

Mrs. Charmaine’s extensive background in Early Childhood Education and certifications in Montessori teachings makes for a unique program. Our approach to learning is not traditional. "We meet each child, see where they are and structure a learning path conducive to grasping and learn."

The STEM Factory Academy of Excellence is located at 1048 Foster Road, Hallandale Beach, Florida 33009. They offer a full day program for children 6 weeks – 5 years old and After School tutoring and homework help for children 5 years to 12 years of age.
