Dania After Dark: Art, Food and S.O.U.L. Are What's In Store

This unique event highlights the unique qualities of its host city, Dania Beach. The nighttime festival is held in the current City Hall compound and organized by the Dania Beach Community Redevelopment Agency. This CRA event is setting the stage for a proposed arts and entertainment area in the heart of downtown Dania Beach which should foster business development and the enhancement of existing businesses in the area. Dania After Dark is held on the second Saturday of each month showcasing all forms of art and craft, music, food and culture. The next event is scheduled for Saturday, June 11th, 5 - 10pm.

Some favorite features of the event are the kids’ corner which usually features do-it-yourself art projects and games. For art aficionados a live art piece is produced on site by a South Florida artist at each installment. Nonstop music throughout the event (5:00 pm to 10:00pm) is a main attraction as patrons relax on the greens and enjoy Dania Beach’s hospitality.

Live Performances - S.O.U.L. & Vanya Allen
Sounds of Universal Love (S.O.U.L.) is a creative collective of seasoned & experienced Studio/Touring musicians. Based in South Florida, S.O.U.L. has made a positive impact on the music scene by playing top quality music, ranging from Jazz, R&B, Soul Classics, Neo-Soul to World Fusion.

Members of the band have had the pleasure of working/performing/sharing the stage with various recording artists such as: Kirk Franklin, George Duke, Kirk Whalum, Phyllis Hyman, Wendy Moten, Freddie Jackson, Dave Koz, Fantasia, Pink, Chayanne, India Arie and The Isley Brothers just to name a few.

Their repertoire consists of over 300 songs, from Hits to B sides. Their love of music & musical abilities are exceptional and unlimited! Whatever Artist or Genre you enjoy, S.O.U.L will truly touch your heart & your Soul with their dedication to the highest quality musical experience! They will be performing on stage from 5-7pm at the festival.

Vanya Allen is a performance artist, educator, and linguist from West Palm Beach. A professional dancer, singer and actor with classical training and a natural stage presence; Vanya's connection with audiences of a broad range is one of her highlights as a performer. She is known for performing original music, as well as covers in a wide range of genres, as a solo act, and also with her band. Vanya is scheduled to perform on stage from 8-10pm.

Dania After Dark features live performance Art, and patrons are treated to local artists creating various forms and genres of art. Upcoming young artists appreciate the opportunity to showcase their talent and Dania After Dark gives the community the opportunity to experience art & culture through programming that is unique to this event.

Dania After Dark features a variety of artists who exhibit throughout the event, making it possible for our residents & guests to learn about new artists and see new work by some of their favorite local creators.

Over 40 Artisans and Makers turn up to create a mall around the City Hall fountain providing new designs and one-of-a-kind brands. You can find ethnic and vintage clothing, accessories, bric-à-brac, home goods, jewelry, and other charming pieces. DAD provides that opportunity to find something unique. Come out and support these highly skilled independent entrepreneurs.
