Aventura Arts & Cultural Center has implemented a number of changes to ensure an enjoyable experience

The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center performances continue with an array of Broadway stars, international films, musical, theatrical and dance presentations during the month of April.

The Aventura International Film Series continues with Brighton 4th on Tuesday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. This story of parental sacrifice and the love of a father for his son, won three major awards at the Tribeca Film Festival: Best International Film, Best Actor, and Best Screenplay and is Georgia’s official submission to the 94th Academy Awards®. In the movie, former wrestler Kakhi, played by real-life Olympic champion Levan Tediashvili, embarks on a journey from his home in the Republic of Georgia to visit his son Soso, portrayed by Giorgi Tabidze, in the Russian-speaking neighborhood of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. There, he finds him living in a shabby boarding house populated by a colorful group of fellow Georgian immigrants. Not rated, this film is in Georgian and Russian with English subtitles. The Aventura International Film Series presented by the City of Aventura is hosted by Shelly Isaacs who introduces the film and leads a post-screening discussion. Tickets are $12.

The Aventura Broadway Concert Series welcomes Lucie Arnaz on Sunday, April 10 at 7 p.m. Celebrating a life on stage, Arnaz returns to her theater roots with I Got the Job! This special performance looks back at some of Arnaz’s memorable performances, from her first role at 14 as The Cheshire Cat in Alice In Wonderland to a grandmother hanging upside down on a trapeze while singing about the preciousness of life in Pippin. With music director Ron Abel, Arnaz celebrates great American musical theatre with anecdotes and fond memories about her co-stars, directors and musical collaborators. In this latest offering in the Aventura Broadway Concert Series, she delivers iconic songs and hidden treasures from some of Broadway’s greatest shows and a look at the backstage magic it takes to create them. Tickets are $50-$75, $77 VIP tickets include an experience with the artist to be announced.

Presented by Artists for a Cause, Inc. EleMenTrio USA sponsored by Valley Bank will offer a special advanced performance at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Friday, April 22 at 8 p.m. prior to their international debut in Vienna. Three award-winning, international vocalists Victor Valdez, Vincent Connor, and Terry Barber will perform original arrangements of classics like "Danny Boy," "You Raise Me Up" and "Music of the Night." Inspired harmonic men's vocal groups, the trio will also sing unique versions of current hits and classic rock songs by Journey, Sting and more. Tickets are $32-$57.

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida presents their annual Spring Ballet Gala on Saturday April 23 at 7:30 p.m. Under the direction of Ballet Master Vladimir Issaev, Arts Ballet Theatre ends its season with a classical repertoire that only skilled dancers can perform. The repertoire includes the most famous classical Pas de Deux and neo-classical pieces by Issaev, guest choreographers and an exceptional corps de ballet of international dancers. Tickets are $35.

The Books Alive: From Page To Stage series brings everyone's favorite cat to mischievous life in Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat on Sunday, April 24 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Children of all ages will love this theatrical adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic. From the moment his tall, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that The Cat in the Hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat that they have ever met. With the trickiest of tricks and the craziest of ideas, he is certainly loads of fun but what will happen if their mother finds out? Originally produced by the National Theatre of Great Britain, and adapted and originally directed by Katie Mitchel, the production is recommended for grade levels pre-K-3. Tickets for performances in Aventura are $16 in advance and $18 on the day of the show with $3 lap seats available for infants 12 months old or younger.

The Broadway Concert Series concludes with Telly Leung on Sunday, April 24 at 7 p.m. Leung will be joined by a trio of New York's finest musicians to present a musical chronicle of how a Brooklyn-boy went from the son of Chinese immigrants to being one of Broadway's favorite leading men in shows such as Aladdin, Allegiance, Godspell and Rent. This Aventura Broadway Concert Series season finale is filled with personal backstage anecdotes and hit songs from the world of Broadway, pop, rock and jazz. Tickets are $52-$80, $77 VIP tickets include an experience with the artist.

Aventura Arts & Cultural Center has implemented a number of changes to ensure an enjoyable experience. Health and safety guidelines have been developed in conjunction with its management company, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic and have been informed by guidance of public health officials including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These guidelines will be continuing to evolve as the environment changes and may be accessed on the venue’s website.
