City of Hollywood
Apr 9, 2026
The City Of Hollywood’s Micro-Transit Service, Sun Shuttle Powered By Circuit, Has Launched A Three-Phase Pilot Program To Expand Service And Improve Transit Connectivity Throughout The City. Phase 1 Introduced An Updated Hollywood West Service Area, Which Began In March.
The revised service zone is based on findings from the City’s recent transit study and is designed to serve additional neighborhoods while improving access to key destinations and regional transit connections, including Broward County Transit and the Tri-Rail corridor. As part of Hollywood’s broader mobility strategy, the program will also utilize funding from the FDOT District 4 Service Development Grant to support the phased expansion of the Sun Shuttle fleet. This funding will help add vehicles as needed to meet expected demand and improve service reliability during the pilot project.
The three-phase pilot program is anticipated to be fully implemented by the second quarter of 2027. Each phase will be used to collect operational and ridership data to evaluate service performance and guide potential adjustments. The program builds on the City’s existing partnership with Circuit and supports Hollywood’s goal of expanding clean, accessible transportation options for residents, workers, and visitors.
