Broward County Kicks Off Its Largest Back To School Drive To Help Students In Need

Broward County’s Largest Back To School Drive Has Begun For The 2026-2027 School Year And BrightStar Credit Union Is Proud To Be An Official Collection Site. Organized By Broward Education Foundation, The Only 501(c)3 Charitable Organization Solely Dedicated To Serving Students And Teachers In Broward County Public Schools, The School Supply Drive Will Help To Provide Under-Resourced Students With Vital Supplies For The Upcoming School Year. BrightStar Will Be Collecting Items From Saturday, July 6th, 2026 To Monday, August 31st, 2026.
Following the success from last year’s drive benefiting more than 130,000 students in 195 schools and assisting 12,000 teachers, BrightStar and Broward Education Foundation will accept donations once again in person through essential supplies or virtually through monetary donations at: https://BEFdrive.com.
The drive is a community effort between the Foundation, the public and local businesses, such as BrightStar, and any donation amount makes a difference. Necessary school supplies include black composition books, two-pocket folders, glue sticks, pens, pencils, crayons, pencil pouches, and more.
BrightStar Credit Union’s branches in Broward, including Cooper City, Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Hollywood, Lauderhill, Pembroke Pines, Margate and Pompano Beach, will serve as drop-off locations for school supplies that will be donated to the Foundation’s school supply drive.
Through a virtual drive, monetary donations such as $25 can provide a student with a backpack filled with essential school supplies, $100 can support a teacher with crucial classroom tools and resources, and $250 can provide art supplies for an entire classroom.
