SK Films And The BBC Studios Natural History Unit Bring Natural History Filmmaking To South Florida With Wild Asia: Life At Extremes, Which Opened On Friday, March 13th, 2026 At The AutoNation®IMAX® 3D Theater At The Museum Of Discovery And Science (MODS).

“Wild Asia: Life at Extremes transports our guests into environments many of us will never experience firsthand,” said Joe Cox, President and CEO of MODS. “At the Museum of Discovery and Science, giant screen films advance our mission. They spark curiosity, deepen understanding of global ecosystems and inspire families to see science and nature through a new lens.”

A breathtaking adventure across the most dramatic landscapes on Earth, Wild Asia: Life at Extremes takes audiences on an epic journey across the world’s largest continent. From the towering and harsh peaks of the Himalayas to lush tropical forests, vast deserts and vibrant coral seas, the film mesmerizes audiences with remarkable animals that have adapted to survive in some of the most challenging conditions on Earth.

Filmed for the Giant Screen format, the immersive experience showcases extraordinary wildlife and surprising behaviors. Audiences will swim alongside a sperm whale family in the Indian Ocean, watch a Tibetan fox hunt among yaks on the Tibetan Plateau and catch intimate glimpses of the adorable and secretive red panda in its Himalayan stronghold. In the Gobi Desert, the long-eared jerboa leaps up to 10 times its body height, while in northern Japan, long-tailed tit birds feed on frozen “sap-cicles.” In the coral seas of the Pacific, viewers will discover the tiny yet powerful sea bunny and witness an unbelievable shark feeding frenzy never before filmed.

Wendy MacKeigan, CEO of SK Films, says “This is premium natural history filmmaking at its best from the award-winning BBC Studios team that showcases some of the most extraordinary animal behaviors ever captured on camera. It’s visually stunning, scientifically rich, and filled with emotional storytelling that will resonate with families, students, and nature lovers everywhere. SK Films are very excited to share WILD ASIAwith audiences around the world.”

Each story reveals the incredible ways in which wildlife has adapted to thrive in extreme environments, offering a world filled with surprising behaviors and unforgettable creatures.

The film is supported by educational and marketing outreach efforts designed to deepen audience engagement, inspire curiosity and encourage the next generation to understand, value and help protect the natural world.
