Kay Rico Opens Another Location in Hollywood

Kay Rico Coffee, a Hollywood business that has grown since 2014, beginning with a stand at the Yellow Green Farmers Market and adding a brick and mortar shop on Hollywood Boulevard in 2018, has now opened Kay Rico Beach Cafe in the Wave Condominium at 2501 South Ocean Drive on Hollywood Beach.

"And," said Dan Aleman, part owner of the Hollywood family's business, "the intention is to open more." Dan functions as manager of the shops, while his brother Tim, is also a partner, as well as a chef, who designed the menu.

This location, though, is unique, in that it will be offering food and drink, almost exclusively, to the residents and guests of the private dwelling, with deliveries available to units in the building, poolside, at the beach, as well and soon, to a few neighboring buildings. Going forward, Aleman plans to begin a series of events and entertainment for the residents of the building.

The menu at Kay Rico Beach Cafe is similar to the one at the original Kay Rico Coffee House, with a few additions. Included are a variety of coffees, teas, wellness drinks, smoothies, acai bowls, sandwiches, wraps and more. The shop also has a beer and wine license.

"My favorite part of Hollywood, is that it is such a community," said Tim Aleman. "It's not overrun by big corporations, so I felt like with us starting our family business, it was meant to be in Hollywood, a city that offers growth and support for independently owned businesses -- we fit right in! It's community, it's family. You come to Hollywood, you feel welcome -- it's like a giant hug. That’s why I love it; I think that’s why everyone loves it."
