Free Screenings Of Three Blockbuster Movies: The Aventura Summer Family Film Series At the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

The only thing better than a summer movie is seeing it for free. The City of Aventura has announced it will present the Aventura Family Film Series with three free weekend movie screenings at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center.

Sweet describes the kick-off of the Aventura Family Film Series that begins with Wonka on Saturday June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Based on the extraordinary character at the center of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, the film stars Timothée Chalamet in the title role. This intoxicating mix of magic and music, mayhem and emotion is told with fabulous heart and humor as it delves into how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the Willy Wonka we know today. The film is rated PG and runs 112 minutes.

Favorite childhood heroes are back to save Manhattan in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem on Sunday, July 14th at 11:00 a.m. Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello and Michelangelo have a unique set of skills and a penchant for mischief that gets them in trouble. When a horde of sinister mutants begins to wreak havoc in New York City, it is up to the four turtle brothers to come to the rescue. The film is rated PG and runs 99 minutes.

It's a family vacation like no other in Migration on Sunday, August 4th at 11:00 am. This action-packed new original animated comedy tells the story of a family of ducks dreaming of the perfect getaway vacation. Mack, the overprotective father, cannot take the risk of traveling from New England all the way to Jamaica. When his two kids, Dax and Gwen, try to convince him to take the leap, Mack must navigate the tricky route through New York City while keeping his family safe. The film is from Illumination, creators of the blockbuster Minions, Despicable Me, Sing and The Secret Life of Pets. The film is rated PG and runs 82 minutes.

For movie day fun, the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center offers a Snack Pack featuring a choice of bottled water or a soda, pretzels or potato chips and a Hoffman's Chocolate Bar. Those reserving seats online may pre-order a Snack Pack with a $5 savings off concession stand prices. No outside food or drinks are allowed at the screenings.

Seating is general admission and limited to the first 330 guests who reserve a ticket. A standby line will be created with additional guests admitted based on available seating. The lobby will open at 10:00 a.m. on the morning of the screening and lap tickets will be available at the Box Office on the day of the event for children 12 months and under.
