Celebrate Black History Month in the City of Hollywood

Learn more about the rich history of African Americans in Hollywood and the creation of the Libera Neighborhood at the annual Black History Month celebration.
All are welcome to join the City's African American Advisory Council on Thursday, February 23rd at 6 p.m. at the Washington Park Community Center, 5199 Pembroke Road for this free, family-friendly event.
The event will feature the award-winning film “Wade in the Water.” There will be performances by the Florida Memorial Chorale and Step Team, an African American history monologue, and more.

The City of Hollywood DropSavers Conservation Poster Contest is Happening Now!
Compete for great prizes, recognition for your art and your school and most importantly, help educate your community about Water Conservation. Create an original design depicting the importance of water conservation and enter it in the City’s DropSavers Water Conservation Poster Contest. The contest is open now to all Hollywood K-12 students, entries must be received on or before Thursday, February 28, 2023.
