A Time To Celebrate: 41st Annual Dinner Of Congregation Levi Yitzchok-Lubavitch / Chabad of South Broward

September 22, 2022

This past weekend hundreds set sail aboard the luxurious Grand Princess Yacht to celebrate the major grand expansion that is so badly needed. Chabad’s dozen of institutions in Hallandale are bursting at the seams. Fundraising this year will go towards phase 1 of the $18,000,000 Grand Expansion Project, which is so badly needed as they, once again have outgrown their present facilities. Due to phenomenal growth the original expansion has gone from $18,000,000 to $30,500,000, this figure includes burning the mortgaged at Chabad of South Broward Headquarters.

A huge influx of families to Hallandale Beach and surrounding neighborhoods, has made it necessary to expand the Shul grounds to include more pre-school space, a Hebrew School and adult education classrooms, a CTeen and Friendship Circle Youth Center, a parking garage, a Women’s Balcony, an expanded Teacher’s Seminary and a proper Kiddush /Social Hall.

Rabbi Raphael Tennenhaus, Senior Rabbi of Congregation Levi Yitzchok-Lubavitch and Executive Director of Chabad of South Broward Headquarters, who started Shlichus in Broward County in 1980 with his Rebbitzen Goldie, invited everyone to take part in this historic Dinner. They were the first Chabad House in Broward County, today there are at least 30 Chabad Centers in South Broward. Every year, their dinners have been merited to receive a personal letter from the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

"With great excitement we are at the final stages of our two building Florida Jerusalem Campus construction and we need your help to finish the project. In these dangerous and terrifying times we must make every effort to secure our precious children in our preschool, Hebrew School, Seminary, Bar and Bat Mitzvah Clubs, CTeen Program and our program for physically challenged children and teenagers, the Friendship Circle. Our Florida Jerusalem Campus, is an extremely highly exposed and bustling Jewish Center, as it is located on Hallandale Beach Boulevard, considered today the busiest street in the USA. This final stage will fortify the exterior of the building and enclose the walkway with electronic doors. See below for a detailed list of this security upgrade project. Please donate generously today and ask your parents, grandparents, family and friends to help as well. Together we will make a safer environment for our children." Rabbi Tennenhaus

During the dinner Rabbi Yossi Lebovics led in the recital of Tehillim. Rabbi Leizer Barash read a letter to the Congregation from 1985, in which the Rebbe added a paragraph about his Holy Father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchok, after whom Chabad’s first Synagogue in Broward is named.

A special thanks is given to the entire staff of Chabad of South Broward Headquarters including Rabbi and Mrs. Moshe Schwartz, Rabbi and Mrs. Mendy Tennenhaus, Rabbi and Mrs. Mordechai Feiner, Rabbi and Mrs. Levi Tennenhaus, Rabbi and Mrs. Yossi Lebovics, Rabbi and Mrs. Yossi Lifshitz, and Rebbitzen Goldie Tennenhaus and Mrs. Chana Eliyahu for such dedication and making this dinner possible.

Rabbi Raphael Tennenhaus announced that the Dinner was 30 days before Simchas Torah and the entire Dinner had the air and spirit of Simchas Torah. Festivities took place on three floors of the luxurious Yacht and dinner guests left confident and uplifted, that they are entering the New Year 5783, a year that the Simcha will break all barriers with the imminent revelation of Moshiach, Now.
