The Heroes Who Walk Among Us - CityPlace Doral And The City Of Doral’s Police Department To Host Second Annual Superhero Bash

CityPlace Doral’s Superhero Bash honors first responders and their bravery and acts of kindness, sparks kids’ imaginations to embody the heroic qualities of these figures and brings the community together in one action-packed celebration of courage and service. The community will enjoy superhero-themed fun, interactive entertainment, games, activities, giveaways and more.

Families can suit up for adventure and meet their favorite caped crusaders and discover the real-life heroes who keep the community safe. Get up close with real emergency vehicles from the City of Doral’s Police Department, City of Doral’s Public Works Department, Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Jackson Health System and Global Empowerment Mission (GEM). From fire trucks and ambulances to police cruisers, every vehicle is a hero’s ride to explore.

Attendees will have the opportunity to snap selfies with superheroes, including Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and more. The Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department will be offering free fingerprinting for children.

GEM will also be on-site collecting essential relief supplies to support those impacted by the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela and Colombia. Families across the affected areas are still facing significant hardship and an urgent need for humanitarian assistance. Community support is vital, and there are several ways to help.

GEM, a NonProfit Organization specializing in rapid disaster response, has mobilized to offer immediate relief to impacted communities. Since its founding in 2011, GEM has been committed to delivering critical aid quickly and efficiently, ensuring support reaches those who need it most. Emergency response teams are currently on the ground assessing damage and distributing essential supplies.

Items accepted at CityPlace Doral include the following:

• Personal care items

• Diapers and baby products

• First aid supplies

• Pet items

To date, the joint response has achieved: 244,198 individuals served; 69,050 GEM Family Necessity Kits distributed; 2,895 pallets of humanitarian aid delivered; more than $13.64 Million in aid distributed; 3.73 million pounds (1,694 metric tons) of relief supplies delivered; 25 humanitarian cargo planes utilized; 75 shipping containers mobilized; and 5 military landing crafts deployed to support logistics and distribution operations.
