Transparency And Accountability: North Miami Citizens Investigative Board Name Six Community Leaders As Its Inaugural Board Members

The North Miami Citizens Investigation Board (CIB) recently announced the inaugural appointment of six community leaders to serve as its board members, each member representing a section of the City of North Miami’s multicultural makeup. “We are excited about the appointment of the new board members,” North Miami Interim City Manager Aneisha Daniel said. “We appreciate their commitment and dedication to maintain transparency and accountability between its residents and police officers.”
The CIB was created in July 2020 by North Miami City Council to provide its residents with an unbiased, independent forum, where their complaints and accolades, pertaining to the actions of sworn members of the North Miami Police Department, can be evaluated. The new board members were appointed by the North Miami City Council and include:
Chair Rabbi Jory Lang
Rabbi Jory Lang has served as spiritual leader of Beth Moshe Congregation in North Miami since 1989. Prior to serving as a Pulpit Rabbi, he was the Executive Director of the Talmudic University of Florida, the largest Yeshiva in the Southeastern United States.
Vice Chair Kevin Seifried
Kevin Seifried was born in Newark, New Jersey. His family moved to Metropolitan Dade County in 1952. Mr. Seifried attended St. James Catholic Elementary School in North Miami, graduating in 1965. He went on to Monsignor Edward Pace Catholic High School in Opa-locka, graduating in 1969, followed by two years at Miami-Dade Community College, receiving an Associate Of Arts Degree in Education.
Andre Pierre
Andre Dominique Pierre was born in Arcahaie, Haiti. He immigrated to the United States in 1983 and attended high school and college in Long Island, New York. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from New York Institute of Technology in 1994 and his Law Degree from the University of Miami in 1997. Pierre served as an intern to the Honorable Melvia Green at the Third District Court of Appeal in Florida. He subsequently worked at the Intellectual Property Law Firm of Lott and Friedland, P.A.
Rose Michelle Grand-Pierre
Rose Michelle Grand-Pierre is a public servant with a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management and Bachelor’s Degrees in Human Resource Management and Management from Florida International University. She is also an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters’ Nominee by Global Oved Dei Seminary and University (GODSU).
Marcia Missick
Marcia Missick is a resident of North Miami since the early 1980's, Marcia Missick is a graduate of St. Thomas University, earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at the local university. She retired from a life of public service, first as a social worker with Miami-Dade County, followed by 25 years as a middle and high school guidance counselor.
Randy Grice
Randy Grice is a life-long resident of North Miami. While attending William H. Turner Technical Arts Senior High School, he was a member of the Public Service Academy before graduating in 2005. A life of service was impressed upon him through the guidance of his mother, an educator for more than 35 years in Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
