An Outpouring of Support: Hallandale Beach Is Setting an Example For Other Cities To Follow

As the war in Israel against Hamas’ carnage of innocent lives killed, tortured and kidnapped our commission and community continues to remain steadfast in supporting the only democracy in the Middle East. Last meeting Vice Mayor Lima-Taub and I co-sponsored a resolution in support of the Israeli Defense Forces as they defend themselves against the unprovoked attacks out of Gaza from Hamas. We are all praying for those in harm's way but again we cannot not forget we all need to ensure Hamas needs to be held accountable for the attacks.

Over the years our City had issues come before us that have provoked a public response. Typically, we receive public comments against an item. In this case we received an outpouring of support from many residents and community leaders. I felt it only right to publicly share these in this forum to highlight how emotionally impactful this massacre is. In their words;

With this resolution Hallandale will stand strongly on the right side and on the side of truth. At a time when so many are shaming themselves by spreading blood libels and worse about Israel and the IDF, Hallandale is standing with the truth and supporting a people who are under non-stop attack! G-d bless this commission and thank you for voting yes, doing the right thing and setting an example for other cities to follow!

A. Frenkel…I fully support the City of Hallandale Beach's Resolution 12D. Jews and Christians are specifically targeted in the Hamas Charter, and after the atrocities we have seen, we have reason to believe them. As a Hallandale Beach resident, Please send out the message that the City of Hallandale Beach is a safe city for the Jewish community. And that we stand on the side of righteousness that we stand with Israel.

El Schochet…As the global Jewish community is witnessing a second Holocaust before their eyes, and the State of Israel faces the fight of her existence, I fully support Resolution Item 12D. There are no two sides to this unimaginable massacre. One is either with Israel (good) or with Hamas (Evil)! Jews and Christians are specifically targeted in the Hamas Charter, and after the atrocities we have seen, we have reason to believe them. As a Hallandale Beach resident, Please send out the message that the City of Hallandale Beach is a safe city for the Jewish community. And that we stand on the side of righteousness that we stand with Israel.

J. Greenstein..There is no debate of the reasoning of one side vs another here. The State of Israel is righteous and a protector of life. Hamas is a terrorist organization composed of monsters. The City of Hallandale Beach needs to continue to stand with the State of Israel and with the IDF. Hallandale Beach has been protective of the Jewish community with police and security measures, and needs to continue to do so. When Good stands together, Evil will always be defeated.

M. Levy…Hallandale must continue to be a safe haven for Jewish people and all people. In the face of so much darkness in the world, we must be a shining light. I fully support Resolution Item 12D.

M. Feiner…Thank you in advance for voting yes to this resolution. Light will always prevail over darkness. Even a small light of truth and goodness over falsehood and evil. We can each do our part by adding in random Acts of goodness and kindness with the next person we meet. Moshiach Now!

While I could not list all 14 which is probably the most if not one of the most public participation we have had on an item.
