Hearts And Ribbons Turn Gold - Go Gold Parade Lights Up Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital During National Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month

Patients, Families And Community Supporters Joined The Oncology Team At Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH) To “Go Gold” In Honor Of National Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. The 3rd Annual Go Gold Parade, Presented In Partnership With The Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, Turned The Hospital Campus Gold With A Caravan Of Ribboned And Balloon-Decorated Vehicles, Bringing Encouragement, Joy And Hope To Children And Families Bravely Fighting Cancer.

Following the parade, patients and families gathered for lunch, games and fun activities, creating an afternoon filled with laughter and community.


“Events like the Go Gold Parade are a heartfelt reminder to our patients and their families that they are never alone on this journey,” said Kelley Morris, President of the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Memorial Foundations. “We are deeply grateful to the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation for their incredible generosity in creating joyful moments that bring comfort and hope to our children during challenging times.”

The Go Gold Parade reflects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to patient and family-centered care, supported by the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation to enhance the hospital experience through donor-funded programs, events and support services.

“The gold ribbon is recognized worldwide as the emblem of Pediatric Cancer Awareness, symbolizing solidarity, resilience and hope,” said Caitlin Stella, CEO of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. “With the support of the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation, this event celebrates our patients and their families on their unique journey of experiencing Cancer as a child. Bringing comfort and brightening the days for our young patients and their families is as important to us as the excellent care we provide to each and every child.”


The Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) NonProfit founded by World Series Champion and Childhood Cancer survivor Anthony Rizzo, provides direct financial and emotional support to children and families facing Cancer. Inspired by his own journey with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Rizzo knows that Cancer impacts the entire family, not just the patient, and he has made it his mission to ensure no family faces this battle alone.
