Go Nose-To-Nose And Fin-To-Fin With The Ocean's Top Predators In Scenic And Remote Waters Around The World When Shark Kingdom, A New 3D Documentary, Opened Recently At The Autonation® IMAX® Theater At The Museum Of Discovery And Science (MODS), The Largest Screen In South Florida. Follow An All-Female Cast Of Shark Conservation Superwomen Jess Cramp, Liv Rose And Cristina Zenato As They Dive Into The Kingdom Of Sharks, Get Up-Close And Personal With These Awe-Inspiring Creatures And Uncover Their Secrets To Fight For The Future Of Our Shared Oceans. From Great Whites Hunting In The Wild And Windswept Seas Of New Zealand, Whaler Sharks Learning To Coexist With Australian Fishermen, To Elusive Oceanic White Tip “Shipwreck Sharks” Traversing Uncharted Depths Of The Pacific, Each Shark Species Wields Unique Survival Powers In Their Distinct Environments.

“Shark Kingdom is more than just a film — it’s an invitation to explore the wonders of our ocean through the lens of science,” said Joseph P. Cox, President and CEO of MODS. “By showcasing these extraordinary creatures on South Florida’s largest screen, we aim to spark curiosity, inspire future marine scientists and deepen public understanding of the essential role sharks play in the health of our planet. This film powerfully supports our mission of connecting people to inspiring science through immersive, educational experiences.”

Shark Kingdom is an epic family adventure, revealing how the ocean's top predator uses hidden super senses to be a key player in the marine ecosystem. The movie grew from a childhood fascination with sharks from Filmmaker, Biologist and Diver Matthew Tomaszewski, who spent years filming sharks.

“A giant screen 3D film on sharks was like a three-word pitch,” Tomaszewski recounts excitedly. “There are a lot of details in terms of their behavior and their physiology that you don't get to see on a normal TV screen. To be able to show the grandeur and detail of some of these amazing creatures on the giant screen was really exciting.”

Tomaszewski and the crew traversed the world in search of some of the highest concentrations of sharks: the Maldives, Tahiti, the Cook Islands; Lord Howe Island, the Australian version of Galapagos Islands; even a tiny island deep in the Southern Ocean, home to great whites. By virtue of having healthy shark populations, these places are also quite untouched and incredibly photogenic for the giant screen.

Carrying hundreds of kilos of giant screen filming equipment off the grid is no vacation, however. Underwater filming is a complex puzzle of weather, ocean currents and the sharks themselves. Audiences will be treated to the best and most magical moments captured on camera - think seas so clear you can see the clouds from 30 meters below water and being surrounded by more than one hundred sharks swimming peacefully around you.

Through the eyes of shark scientists, divers and even a “shark whisperer,” audiences will see another side of sharks. The filmmakers hope that the women who study and protect sharks in this film will inspire the young and young-at-heart.

“Adventure can be right on your doorstep, and nature is all around us. With curiosity and passion, you never really know what you might discover,” Tomaszewski reflects.
