Each year, the City is required to adopt a balanced operating budget, with projected revenues equal to planned expenditures. The budget reflects priorities established by the Mayor and City Commission and guides how funding is allocated among City Departments, programs and services. It also accounts for the many revenue sources that support City operations, including Property and Utility Taxes, Charges and Fees, Licenses and Permits, Sales Taxes, and State and Federal Grants.
For a quick introduction to how it all comes together, residents can watch the City’s Annual Budget Process video on the Department of Budget and Strategy page at: www.hollywoodfl.org. The video explains how priorities are established, where City revenues come from, how funding is allocated and how residents can provide input during the process.
The public will have additional opportunities to participate when the City Commission considers the FY 2027 budget during two public budget hearings at City Hall:
• Monday, September 14th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
The City encourages residents and businesses to take an active role in the Budget Process. Attend a community meeting, learn about the Proposed FY 2027 Budget and Amendment 3, and participate in the public hearings before the City Commission adopts the Final Budget.
