The City Of Hollywood Is Giving Residents An Opportunity To Go “Behind The Budget” And Learn More About How The City’s Annual Budget Is Developed, How Local Revenue Supports City Services And Programs, And Key Issues Shaping The Fiscal Year(FY) 2027 Budget.

Hollywood’s Deputy City Manager Adam Reichbach will host a series of Behind the Budget Community Meetings, beginning Tuesday, September 1st, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hollywood Beach Culture and Community Center at 1301 South Ocean Drive, Hollywood, Florida 33019.

The meetings are designed to provide an in-depth look at the Budget Development process and proposed initiatives included in the FY 2027 Budget. Residents will also learn about the revenue streams that fund City Services and Programs and how Amendment 3 on the November Ballot relates to the City’s budget.

Additional Behind the Budget Community Meetings will be held:

• Wednesday, September 9th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 2600 Hollywood Boulevard, Room 215, Hollywood, Florida 33020

• Thursday, September 10th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Boulevard Heights Community Center, 6770 Garfield Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024

Each year, the City is required to adopt a balanced operating budget, with projected revenues equal to planned expenditures. The budget reflects priorities established by the Mayor and City Commission and guides how funding is allocated among City Departments, programs and services. It also accounts for the many revenue sources that support City operations, including Property and Utility Taxes, Charges and Fees, Licenses and Permits, Sales Taxes, and State and Federal Grants.

For a quick introduction to how it all comes together, residents can watch the City’s Annual Budget Process video on the Department of Budget and Strategy page at: www.hollywoodfl.org. The video explains how priorities are established, where City revenues come from, how funding is allocated and how residents can provide input during the process.

The public will have additional opportunities to participate when the City Commission considers the FY 2027 budget during two public budget hearings at City Hall:

• Monday, September 14th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.

• Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.

The City encourages residents and businesses to take an active role in the Budget Process. Attend a community meeting, learn about the Proposed FY 2027 Budget and Amendment 3, and participate in the public hearings before the City Commission adopts the Final Budget.
