- Dial Up Flavor with Summer Favorites
Dial Up Flavor with Summer Favorites By Family Features May 4, 2023 Share Turn up the heat this summer and spice your way to delicious warm-weather recipes by using subtle ingredients that bring out bold flavors in your favorite foods. Adding a taste-enhancing option to your repertoire - TajÌn Fruity Chamoy Sauce - can make your summer get-togethers the talk of the neighborhood. Cool off while enjoying mildly spicy dishes. Made with 100% natural chiles, lime juice, sea salt and a hint of apricot, TajÌn Fruity Chamoy Sauce offers a unique sweet-and-spicy flavor without too much heat. Perfect for drizzling over fresh fruits and veggies like mango, pineapple, watermelon and more, it's also commonly used to bring fruity, subtle spice to a wide variety of recipes including beverages and snacks, like smoothies, mangonadas, ice pops and cold drinks. For example, in this Savory Mango Chamoy Daiquiri, the apricots create a fruity, tangy flavor that's a nice, refreshing twist on a traditional drink. Bringing a touch of heat to summer cookouts can be a breeze with mild hot sauces added to dishes like these Spiced Pork Ribs, which can be created start-to-finish in the oven or taken outside to sear on the grill. Just a handful of ingredients are required to season the ribs to spicy perfection before wrapping them in foil and letting your oven do the work. The key ingredient for the right touch of subtle heat without being overwhelming is TajÌn Mild Hot Sauce, a unique, flavorful addition to your cabinet that pairs well with savory snacks like tortilla chips, chicken wings, pizza and even micheladas. The lime is what makes it different from other hot sauces. Made with 100% natural mild chiles, lime juice and sea salt without added sugars or coloring, it can be enjoyed by the whole family as a versatile way to enhance favorite foods with a mild but wild flavor. Both recipes can be easily enhanced with a simple concept: just pair TajÌn Cl·sico seasoning with either or both of the sauces to create unique flavor combinations, a tasty "mix it" tactic to add to your warm-weather menu and make it uniquely yours. - Clever Canine Finds New Career - Black Lab Sniffs Out Mold More Effectively Than Traditional Inspection Methods | sun-times
Clever Canine Finds New Career - Black Lab Sniffs Out Mold More Effectively Than Traditional Inspection Methods South Florida Sun Times Jun 5, 2025 Dogs Are Considered “Man’s Best Friend,” But Indy, A One-Year-Old Black Labrador Retriever, Had Doubts That He Would Ever Find His Fur-Ever Purpose. The Canine Was Quickly Returned To His Colorado Breeder After His Original Owners Couldn’t Make The Commitment Required For An Active Working Breed, Like Indy. Luckily, At The Same Time, Zaneta Kuzel, A Female Entrepreneur In Hobe Sound, Florida, Was Seeking A Black Lab For Her New Business Venture- A Canine Mold Detection Company. The Two Met And Mold Hunt, LLC Was Formed In March 2025. The Innovative Company Uses Indy’s Talents To Detect Mold More Effectively And Affordably In Homes, Businesses, Boats And Cars Throughout Southeastern Florida. “Black labs are notorious for their keen sense of smell and calm temperament, and that’s exactly how we found Indy - full of potential and waiting for his right purpose and home,” said Zaneta Kuzel, Founder and Owner of Mold Hunt, LLC. “Indy is energetic and focused about his work, passionate around people and always eager to earn treats for a job well done.” Kuzel’s impetus for creating the new business stems from her own personal health crisis with mold in 2024. After having a full home inspection before purchasing her 30-year-old house in Hobe Sound, FL, Kuzel was excited to start her new life. Within two weeks of moving in, Kuzel began to notice difficulty breathing and frequent coughing. As her condition worsened, she went to the ER, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia, which lasted a month. She discovered that hidden mold was lurking behind the walls in every room of her house. “Being this sick was shocking since I have a healthy, organic lifestyle and took all of the necessary precautions by getting a proper home inspection,” said Kuzel. “I realized how invisible and dangerous mold can be and knew that there had to be a better way to detect it and help others avoid what I went through.” During her recovery Kuzel discovered that dogs could be trained to detect mold and in Europe dogs have been used for this purpose for over twenty years. After researching canine services in America, the idea stuck to bring this revolutionary offering to Southeastern Florida. “When we met Indy, everything aligned: his unique capabilities, my personal experience, and our underlying mission to keep people healthy, especially in our moist, humid tropical climate.” Kuzel explains that Indy was rigorously trained and successfully completed an intensive, three-month mold detection certification program through the renowned Florida Training Academy, which taught him how to sniff out all forms of mold, including Aspergillis (blue-green), Cladosporium (olive green) and the toxic Stachybotrys (black mold), and provide visual cues to let Kuzel know the exact location of the infestation. He is one of only a handful of highly specialized mold dogs in the U.S. The Mold Hunt detection process lasts approximately one hour and consists of a thorough walkthrough of the property both inside and outside. Kuzel then gathers information about the client’s potential mold-related issues, noting any health changes in different rooms. Indy is then brought into the house to lead the inspection, sniffing out mold behind walls, in air ducts, under floors and other areas invisible to the human eye. When mold is detected, Indy alerts Kuzel by sitting down and pointing to the exact source of mold with his nose. Once the alert is confirmed, he receives a food reward and praise. The entire process is quick and more than 90% accurate. Other benefits of canine mold detection include: Non-Destructive: Unlike traditional methods that may require drilling or removing parts of one’s property, dogs find mold without any invasive techniques, preserving the integrity of a person’s home, business, car or boat. Cost-Savings: By targeting only those specific areas affected by the mold, unnecessary and costly repairs are prevented. Precise detection means spending less on invasive testing and remediation. For schools, hotels, commercial and government buildings, the affordability factor is very substantial. Experienced Professionals: The unique combination of highly trained dogs with expert handlers who have a deep knowledge of mold issues, offers the most comprehensive screening possible. Health-Focused: Mold can seriously affect one’s health, causing headaches, tightening in the chest, burning sensations in the airways, wheezing, sneezing, coughing, difficulty breathing, fever, nose bleeds, skin irritation, sinusitis, shingles, streptococcus and pneumonia, among many other illnesses. Mold Hunt helps catch mold problems early, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for individuals, families and companies. “It’s important to note that mold is not harmful to dogs since they do not inhale the dangerous particles like humans can,” adds Kuzel. “Their noses are truly cutting-edge technology!” Indy typically conducts up to four mold detections per day with ongoing training by Kuzel. When off-duty, he enjoys swimming, playing fetch at the beach, and napping in his favorite spot at home. He’s not just a working dog, but also a cherished family member. Parties interested in the service can visit: www.moldhunt.com - Or call: 858-MOLD-DOG. “We’re so excited to showcase Indy’s special training and talents to help Southern Floridians stay safe from mold,” concludes Kuzel. “We’re planning to expand our detection team with additional trained dogs and handlers to offer service throughout the entire state and eventually create educational workshops to help homeowners truly understand the health risks associated with mold.” About Mold Hunt Mold Hunt, LLC is a professional canine mold detection service for homes, businesses and personal property in the Southeastern Florida region. With their intense training and keen sense of smell, mold-sniffing dogs achieve a more than 90% accuracy rate and offer a fast, thorough non-invasive, and cost-effective review for safer living and recreational spaces. - First Yacht To Generate Its Own Drinking Water From Air Will Be Built In The U.S. | sun-times
First Yacht To Generate Its Own Drinking Water From Air Will Be Built In The U.S. South Florida Sun Times Sep 10, 2025 In A Major Breakthrough For Marine Innovation And Sustainability, Florida-Based Altitude Water Has Partnered With RM Design Pro To Develop The SXR 68 XL, A 68-Foot Hybrid Yacht That Will Become The First U.S.-Built Vessel To Generate Its Own Drinking Water Directly From Air Using Fully Integrated Atmospheric Water Generation (AWG) Technology. Designed from inception with built-in sustainability, not bolted on, the yacht also features hybrid propulsion, solar regeneration, AI-based controls, and a fully American-made supply chain; delivering off-grid performance without sacrificing luxury or environmental standards. “This is more than a yacht, it’s an off-grid, energy-efficient vessel that produces clean drinking water without relying on desalination or bottled water,” said Jeff Szur, Founder and COO of Altitude Water. “By designing the AWG system directly into the yacht’s core infrastructure, we’ve eliminated the taste, reliability, and maintenance issues that plague traditional marine water systems.” The SXR 68 XL is being positioned as a new benchmark in sustainable yachting, meeting stringent United States Coast Guard (USCG), The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC), National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier IV standards to ensure charter-readiness and fast-track certification. It is being entirely designed and built in the United States. The partnership was initiated through M2 Holistic Studio, a design firm known for integrating wellness, sustainability, and technology into luxury environments. As distributors and early adopters of Altitude Water’s technology in new homes, M2 introduced Altitude to yacht designer Rogerio Mariani during the SXR 68 XL's conceptual design phase. “I knew there was a reason I chose M2 Holistic Studio to lead the interior design of the yacht,” said Rogerio Mariani, Founder of RM Design Pro. “When they introduced Altitude Water’s technology as a potential sustainable solution for onboard water, I was instantly intrigued.” “We integrated Altitude’s AWG system with our AI-based Yacht Integrative Control Systems & Monitoring (YICSM), a breakthrough that can now be replicated in future builds,” continued Mariani. “After several meetings with the Altitude team, it became clear we weren’t just improving this vessel, we were creating a system that could help transform the yachting experience.” “We immediately saw the value of bringing atmospheric water generation into the marine world,” said Marta Halwany and Mahria Carolihna, Co-Founders of M2 Holistic Studio. “Our goal has always been to design spaces that nourish the body, mind, and planet. This project was an opportunity to make that philosophy tangible on the water.” Unlike conventional reverse osmosis (RO) water makers, which rely on seawater desalination and extensive filtration, Altitude Water’s AWG system creates pure, great-tasting water from the humidity in the air- no plumbing to the sea, no salt corrosion, and no plastic bottle waste. “We’ve placed portable AWG units on yachts for years,” Szur said. “But space is at a premium, and the real vision was always full integration. With this partnership, we’re finally delivering a built-in, self-reliant water solution that can scale across the yachting industry.” The result is a fully modular, solar-regenerative yacht that eliminates the need for external water provisioning, expands off-grid capabilities, and enhances charter Return on Investment (ROI) -- all while dramatically reducing environmental impact. About Altitude Water Altitude Water is a Florida-based technology company on a mission to end water scarcity through atmospheric water generation (AWG). Its systems have been deployed in disaster zones, remote communities, military operations, and off-grid homes around the world. - Two Florida Main Streets Named Among The Healthiest For Walking | sun-times
Two Florida Main Streets Named Among The Healthiest For Walking South Florida Sun Times Jul 30, 2025 Framed By Charming Storefronts, Tree-Lined Sidewalks, And The Smell Of Coffee Drifting Out Of Local Coffee Shops, Some Of America’s Main Streets Aren’t Just Postcard Material - They’re Good For Your Health. According To Public Health Experts, Walking Just 30 Minutes A Day Can Improve Cardiovascular Health, Boost Mental Well-Being, And Reduce The Risk Of Chronic Illness. But If The Route Is Scenic, Social, And A Little Bit Magical? You Might Not Even Notice You're Exercising. Assisted Living Magazine, a senior living concierge, carried out a survey of over 3,007 residents to name the most walkable and lovable main streets in America. From cobblestone stretches in New England to palm-lined avenues out West, they asked people to nominate the spots where walking isn’t a chore, but a pleasure. The top 10 were as follows: 1. Main Street, Lake Placid, New York Lake Placid’s Main Street runs like a ribbon beside Mirror Lake, reflecting the mountains and inviting walkers to slow down and take it in. There’s a soft grade to the street, enough to warm your legs, especially if you’re coming off a chilly morning. You might see Olympic athletes training, or just locals sipping hot drinks on a bench with a view of the peaks. Whether it’s winter lights or summer wildflowers, this street makes wellness feel natural, like something the landscape itself has always encouraged. 2. State Street, Santa Barbara, California State Street is one of those rare places where a walk feels like a reward, not a task. You move from the buzz of downtown into beachy calm without even noticing the shift. The wide sidewalks are lined with palms and cooled by ocean air, and there’s always the scent of saltwater and orange blossoms in the mix. Shaded courtyards and quiet benches invite you to pause, sip a coffee, or people-watch under red-tile roofs. Whether it’s surfers heading to Stearns Wharf in the early morning or couples out for an evening stroll beneath twinkling lights, walking here always feels a little luxurious—and somehow good for you, too. 3. East Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida East Las Olas Boulevard feels more like a breeze than a street, lined with palms, flanked by fountains, and always touched by the scent of salt air and tropical blooms. The sidewalks are smooth and shaded, made for slow walking or long strides, depending on your mood. You might spot a local sculptor setting up a new piece, or grab a cold coconut water from a juice stand. Morning light turns everything gold, and in the evening, the soft roar of the beach draws you east. It’s a flat, walkable stretch with enough beauty and movement to lift your mood—and enough stops along the way to keep you fueled and inspired. 4. Front Street, Nome, Alaska Front Street doesn’t feel like a sidewalk stroll—it feels like you’ve stepped into another world. The cold air wakes you up in the best way, and with the sea on one side and weathered wooden buildings on the other, it’s a walk that keeps your senses engaged. The flat terrain makes it easy for anyone to explore, and with nearly round-the-clock daylight in summer, folks tend to walk late and often. Even a slow stroll here clears your head fast. The horizon seems to stretch forever, and somehow, after just a few blocks, your lungs feel fuller and your mind a bit quieter. 5. Downtown Parkway, Gatlinburg, Tennessee Walking Gatlinburg’s Downtown Parkway is a full-body sensory experience: sweet smells, bright colors, and the soundtrack of bluegrass, rushing water, and laughter. The terrain is flat and friendly, but the visual energy never lets up—from glassblowers and woodcarvers to mirror mazes and moonshine flights. It’s a mountain town, sure, but one that wears its carnival heart proudly. Every step offers something new, from old-world crafts to neon-lit fun, with the Smokies rising like a steady, grounding backdrop. 6. Main Street, Sag Harbor, New York Sag Harbor’s Main Street doesn’t pretend. It’s elegant but grounded, historic but lived-in. The harbor breeze keeps things moving, and the slope to the water offers just enough pull to get the blood flowing. You’ll pass clapboard buildings with centuries behind them, and bookshops that still carry Steinbeck in the window. There’s clam chowder cooking and kids skipping stones just beyond the last café. It’s not just a walk—it’s a moment in the story of a place that hasn’t lost touch with its roots. 7. Main Street, Bar Harbor, Maine Bar Harbor’s Main Street gives you that deep-breath feeling from the very start. The ocean’s never far, and the breeze smells of salt and pine and maybe blueberry tarts if you’re lucky. You’ll start walking downhill toward Frenchman Bay, which makes for a relaxed beginning, just enough to wake up the legs. Coming back up offers a little extra movement, but the scenery makes it feel effortless. Victorian storefronts, lobster rolls on the patio, and the call of gulls overhead—it’s a walk that feels like a reward in itself, especially when the fog lifts and the harbor appears, clear and still. 8. King Street, Charleston, South Carolina King Street in Charleston walks like a Southern novel—layered, lyrical, and rich with detail. Every few steps, sweetgrass baskets meet haute couture, and garden gates open into shaded courtyards humming with conversation. The terrain is easy, but the culture is deep. You walk to eat, to admire, to pause—and somehow, it always feels like the right pace. 9. Broadway Street, Skagway, Alaska Walking down Broadway Street in Skagway is like slipping into a living postcard. The wooden sidewalks creak a little underfoot, the buildings look straight out of a Gold Rush film set—and that’s exactly the point. There’s a steady uphill stretch that’ll raise your heart rate just enough, but the cool breeze off the mountains makes it easy to keep going. Between stops at locally-owned shops, you’ll hear stories from friendly historians and catch the scent of fresh-baked pastries or piney spruce-tip beer. It’s the kind of walk where you’re not just getting exercise—you’re walking through history, and that’s something you can feel in your bones. 10. South Main Street, Breckenridge, Colorado Breckenridge’s Main Street walks like a workout and unwinds like a vacation. At nearly 10,000 feet, you’ll definitely feel the elevation—but it’s the kind of healthy challenge that leaves you refreshed, not worn out. The buildings, painted in old-fashioned shades of alpine blue and burgundy, keep things interesting as you wander. There’s always a breeze coming off the Blue River and usually the faint smell of pine or fresh snow, depending on the season. Locals amble along slowly, hot drinks in hand, and it’s easy to fall into that rhythm. The altitude gives your heart a boost, the scenery clears your head, and somehow, a simple walk turns into the highlight of your day. 1 more main street in Florida featured among the best for wellness walks: 85. Main Street, Sarasota Main Street in Sarasota, Florida, embodies the vibrant fusion of art, culture, and coastal living. Palm trees sway gently overhead, casting dappled shadows on the sidewalk cafes and boutique storefronts that line the street. The scent of citrus-infused seafood dishes from upscale eateries tantalizes your senses as you explore galleries showcasing local artists’ work. Street performers add a lively soundtrack to your stroll, their melodies blending with the rhythmic lapping of waves from nearby Sarasota Bay. Whether you’re stopping to browse upscale boutiques or enjoying a smoothie at a rooftop bar, Main Street Sarasota invites you to immerse yourself in the laid-back sophistication of Gulf Coast living. “Too often, wellness gets boxed into gyms and gadgets,” says CEO Jeremy Clerc of Assisted Living Magazine: https://assistedlivingmagazine.com “But the simple act of walking – especially in places that are beautiful, social, and full of charm – can be just as powerful. These main streets remind us that movement can be both joyful and effortless when the environment invites you in.” Previous Next
