It Is November, The Holiday Season Has Begun, Many Deprived Individuals And Families Will Struggle To Feed Themselves This Thanksgiving. Yet Despite Rising Food Prices, Local Churches And Other Organizations In Broward And Miami-Dade Counties Are Giving Them Free Food.

Below is an extensive list of religious groups and Non-Profit Organizations offering help:

A Place in Time Christian Ministries at 8530 Stirling Road, Davie, Florida 33024 will feed families this Thanksgiving through its “Baskets of Hope” program which runs from Saturday, November 1st - Tuesday, November 18th. A “Basket of Hope” includes items for a complete Thanksgiving meal. More information, call: (954) 435-7474.


In Hollywood, on Wednesday, November 12th, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Washington Park Homeowners Association will throw its 25th Annual Luncheon with turkey & all the trimmings for the Thanksgiving Holiday at Washington Park Community Center on 5199 Pembroke Road, Hollywood, Florida 33023. On Saturday, November 15th, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Willie Rawls Jr. Foundation will organize a Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway at River Run Park, 9400 Miramar Boulevard, Miramar, Florida 33025. It’s an in-person giveaway for the needy. More information, call: (305) 299-4323.


Also, on Saturday, November 15th, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Remain United As One, Inc. will hold a Food Distribution/Turkey Drive at Boyd Anderson High School, 3050 Northwest 41st Street, Lauderdale Lakes, Florida 33309. More information, call: (954) 497-4200.


Come on Wednesday, November 19th, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., United Way of Broward County, 1300 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33319 will host Mission United Operation Turkey Dinner 2025 and provide Thanksgiving meal kits to Broward County’s Veterans and military families. At the Lauderhill Mall, 1267 Northwest 40th Avenue, Lauderhill, Florida 33313 there will be a Turkey Giveaway on Friday, November 21st, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Anyone that spends $20 at any of the mall’s participating stores between Saturday, November 1st and Friday, November 21st, will receive a free turkey. On Saturday, November 22nd, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., The Faith Center, 5555 Northwest 95th Avenue, Sunrise, Florida 33351 will hold its Dare to Care Thanksgiving Distribution to help the hungry. More information, call the church at: (954) 742-7832.


Also, on Saturday, November 22nd, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., The Sanctuary Church Fort Lauderdale, 1400 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33304 will present its 10th annual Grocery and Turkey Giveaway. More information, call Pastor Dwayne Black at: (954) 564-7600.


Additionally, on Saturday, November 22nd, Sheridan House Family Ministries, 1700 South Flamingo Road, Davie, Florida 33325 is arranging its Thanksgiving Food Drive, also known as the Thanksgiving Blessings Drive-Thru event and will give away Thanksgiving meals to needy families. On Sunday, November 23rd at 9:30 a.m., Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale will conduct its Feed the Block event at Avondale Public Park, 233 Southwest 6th Avenue, Pompano Beach, Florida 33060. This year, the church expects to provide Thanksgiving meals to 300 families in the Avondale community. More information, call: (954) 771-8840.


And on Sunday, November 23rd, the Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive-Thru Food Drive, hosted by Tamara James Foundation, Inc., will take place at First Park in Dania Beach. On Monday, November 24th, at 11:00 a.m., the City of West Park will furnish free turkeys to pre-registered West Park residents at its Mary Kendrick Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway (drive-thru) event at McTyre Park, 3501 Southwest 56th Avenue, West Park, Florida 33023. United Methodist Church at 1001 Northwest 70th Avenue, Plantation, Florida 33313 will launch its Branches Thanksgiving Food Distribution event on Thanksgiving Day, 6:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. More information, email: office@plantationumc.org.


On Thanksgiving Day, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., the Salvation Army of Broward County will help many folks as staff and volunteers at 1445 West Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312 will provide a free, hot Thanksgiving lunch to about 150 to 200 community members.


“This Thanksgiving dinner represents more than just a meal; it symbolizes the organization’s ongoing commitment to serving the most vulnerable members of the South Florida community,” said Denisse Mollfulleda, spokesperson for the Salvation Army of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale. In Miami-Dade County, Thursday, November 13th to Saturday, November 15th, United Way Miami, 3250 Southwest 3rd Avenue, Miami, Florida 33129 is coordinating its Thanksgiving Drive 2025. Moreover, on Thanksgiving Day, Caring Place, Inc. founded in 1922, now located at 2020 Northwest 1st Avenue, Miami, Florida 33127 and 2056 Scott Street, Hollywood, Florida 33020 will have its Thanksgiving outreach events starting at 10:00 a.m. Guests will enjoy a free traditional Thanksgiving meal at both sites. Furthermore, Feeding South Florida at 2501 Southwest 32nd Terrace, Pembroke Park, Florida 33023 will conduct its “Share Food, Share Joy” campaign that runs until Saturday, November 15th. This organization aims to feed many needy individuals and families in South Florida this Thanksgiving season. On Wednesday, November 19th, starting at 10:30 a.m., Miami-based Health in the Hood, Inc. is partnering with Feeding South Florida to unveil its Opa-Locka Thanksgiving Distribution (first come, first served, walk-thru event) at Mt. Winn-Dixie partners with Feeding South Florida to provide Thanksgiving meals for 500 local families


Winn-Dixie, together with the Winn-Dixie Gives Foundation, is proudly partnering with Feeding South Florida to distribute 500 turkeys and Thanksgiving sides to support families in need this holiday season. The walk-up and drive-through mobile food pantry will help ensure local neighbors facing hunger can enjoy the comfort and tradition of a Thanksgiving meal.


The distribution is open to the public and will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., while supplies last, at Blessings Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen, located at 100 NE 44th St., in Pompano Beach.

The mobile food pantry event, in partnership with Feeding South Florida, is one of many distribution events and donations Winn-Dixie and the Winn-Dixie Gives Foundation are supporting ahead of the holidays. Through these local efforts, the grocer is donating more than 7,000 turkeys and holiday sides this season to help neighbors facing hunger share a memorable meal with their loved ones.

Meanwhile, this Thanksgiving season, the Salvation Army Miami, 1907 Northwest 38th Street, Miami, Florida 33142 plans to organize two Thanksgiving distributions to feed the less fortunate. The first one is set for Thursday, November 20th at 9:00 a.m.; the second is slated for Saturday, November 22nd at 11:00 a.m. Salvation Army Miami has served the community since 1913. Moreover, on Tuesday, November 25th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Noon, the City of Miami Springs, partnering with Farm Share, Inc. will host a Free Food Drive-Thru Distribution event in the Miami Springs Community Center Parking Lot at 1401 Westward Drive, Miami Springs, Florida 33166. On Wednesday, November 26th, in south Miami-Dade County, the Homestead Soup Kitchen, 105 Southwest 3rd Avenue, Homestead, Florida 33030 will serve its traditional Thanksgiving lunch. In North Miami Beach, on Thursday, November 27th, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Fulford United Methodist Church at 1900 Northeast 164th Street, North Miami Beach, Florida 33162 will preside over its Community Thanksgiving Meal gathering. Finally, on Thursday, November 27th, Branches, Inc. at 11500 NW 12th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33168 will coordinate with many South Florida churches to oversee its 25th Annual Thanksgiving Meal Delivery on Thanksgiving Day. This year, Branches expects to produce and deliver over 6,000 fresh meals to the less fortunate across Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
