Sparking Entrepreneurism In Hollywood

SPARK Hollywood - Let's Launch Wednesday, June 16th, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.

The Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce along with the City of Hollywood’s Office of Communications, Marketing and Economic Development are working to plan this year’s SPARK Hollywood events. The SPARK Hollywood FL initiative, is designed to support and grow entrepreneurship in our City. This year’s virtual kick-off event, “SPARK Launch,” takes place on Wednesday, June 16th, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.

"SPARK Launch" is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to interact and learn from area experts. This moderated session will cover entrepreneurial programs and resources that Broward County has to offer. The session will also highlight Broward’s unique position in the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem.

SPARK Hollywood, FL. was launched in 2017, through a unique partnership between the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and the City of Hollywood with support from entrepreneurially focused organizations. SPARK Hollywood, FL. has offered more than 100 entrepreneurs, the opportunity to pitch their ventures to expert judges, have been awarded more than $20,000 in cash and prizes, to spark businesses, since 2017. On-line Surplus Auction Underway Now
In the market for a used vehicle or boat? Check out the City's Surplus On-line Auction underway, now through Tuesday, June 15th, 2021. Cars, trucks, vans, emergency vehicles, boats and more - right now, there are 49 surplus vehicles on the auction block. The auction ends on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Anyone interested, can visit the auction site and submit a bid at: https://bidera.hibid.com/auctions/index/

The City contracts with a company called "Bidera" to handle public auctions of surplus items. As part of their contract, they inspect each item, write up a description, take detailed photographs and then host the auction. Hollywood is just one of many local municipalities to use the Bidera on-line auction site, to sell surplus items with the goal of realizing the best possible price to the benefit of taxpayers.
