City Of Hollywood Launches New Accela Permitting Software System
July 25, 2024
In a bid to streamline and modernize its permitting processes, the City of Hollywood is set to unveil its new Accela Permitting Software System this August. Aimed at simplifying the often complex and time-consuming task of applying for Permits and tracking their progress, the Accela Platform promises to revolutionize how residents and contractors interact with the city government.
The Accela System represents a significant upgrade over the city’s existing online services, offering a user-friendly interface and a range of new functionalities tailored to meet the needs of both individual residents and contractors alike. Scheduled for release in mid-August with Version 1.0, the system will initially cover a select number of Permit Types including: Demolition, Fence Installation, Window and Door Replacements, Plumbing, Driveway Construction, Electrical Work, Mechanical Installations, and Reroofing Projects.
Accela is designed to guide and assist the building and development community. This platform marks a milestone in the City's efforts to enhance transparency, efficiency, and customer service in our permitting processes."
One of the key features of Accela is its ability to provide real-time updates on the status of Permit Applications, allowing users to track progress and receive notifications directly through the platform. This transparency aims to reduce the frustration often associated with waiting for approvals and ensure that projects move forward smoothly.
To access Accela, users will need to create an account on the platform, which will serve as a centralized hub for managing all Permit-Related Activities. While the Accela Portal undergoes its initial rollout, the city’s existing online ePermit and Express Same Day Permitting Services will remain operational, catering specifically to more complex building projects that may require additional support.
Looking ahead, the City of Hollywood plans to expand the capabilities of the Accela Platform with the introduction of Version 2.0 slated for 2025. This future update aims to incorporate more Permit Types and further refine the user experience based on feedback gathered during the initial deployment phase.
