Aventura Heroes Get Recognized

At the July Commission Meeting, Mayor Weinberg and the Aventura Commission honored some courageous Aventura Residents, as well as some of our own City of Aventura employees, for the amazing work they did to assist our community during the recent flash flood that struck last month.
Carolina Duer and her son, Elias, used their own truck to assist 19 people in finding safety during the flood, making this brave duo more than deserving of this Certificate of Recognition. Additionally, they recognized the team at the Rec Center for not only keeping the children safe during the storm, but keeping them entertained and in good spirits until their parents could pick them up safely.
